I think I originally had it as 150 but I changed it after I recorded the gameplay because it seemed a lot lower than 150 (it was before I knew the total score though)

I think it might have been useful to have a small indicator on a corner of the screen to show that you are holding a button at that moment in time so it is easier to follow along. Another small change that you could make is by counting each button press for level entry as you went along. You already confirmed that the button counts for entering levels could change as the run went on depending on what obstacles you faced so if the count was going to keep going up and down, wouldn’t it be simpler to just add those button presses as you went along to make it easier to follow along? So, are we going to ignore that the red hot and presumably elevator ride is actually skippable? When it's offscreen it actually rises to keep up with Mario, so you can just jump up on the tap platforms and ignore it entirely rather than having to wiggle it back and forth around the stage.
I'm a bit nice, but the miiverse never popped up for me because I never had it connected. So those button pushes can actually be removed since they are skippable and requires you to literally do nothing with your account. Note: this might be exclusive to Luigi u.
How about opening the home menu, disconnecting the P1 Wii remote with the "reconnect" button, and syncing the pro controller in the P1 slot? I think that would be two presses to switch between them (unless they enter sync mode when you insert the batteries? I'm not sure about that, but on the off-chance that works it would cut it down to 1 press either way) dunno how helpful that would be, but it's something
@@Ansel_G it's also maybe possible, if they don't enter sync mode when you put the batteries in, possibly hold a previous button press while taking the batteries out and putting them back in? that might make the controller register a new input in order to sync up, without technically adding to the button press count
@@Ansel_G yeah its been that way since Wii mario will just do a continuous stream of little baby kicks not nearly as good as toadettes free swim but it gets the job done for a challenge like this
Why did you splice the bowser fight on the final hit? From what I saw you got the clown car into the top right I just can’t figure out how that run failed ( 26:11 )
If u was on the game pad, couldn't u just tap the screen to save the game and start it at the beginning (idk if that actually works, I never had a Wii U)

also, i'm wondering if closing the game and re-opening during some dialouge boxes would help, but most of them have a save box at the end so I guess not
Why didn't you play the nintendo switch version? Here are the pros and cons Pros: It has a touchscreen for menu navigation, a joystick for movement, motion controls for jumping, and even lacks a miiverse prompt. Cons: The touchscreen does nothing in levels Just thought I'd throw that out there
@@Ansel_G I am aware of that sad change, but I still expect that it may still be better because of things like having a joystick and on other more recent thing that I thought of is that toadette can swim in a different way than the rest of the characters so you may be able to beat the secret level of world one with only one button press by holding A to swim, however as I am not a challenge runner myself I am not certain about this, even if it doesn't work I still think that the ability to combine a joystick and motion controls may still work out in favor of less buttons overall
@@alexholley2712 you’re right, that one pipe could probably change the whole route, but some levels like the bowser hand one would be super difficult without the blocks. But I guess that solution would be fixed with the ability to actually move.
I'm not sure if not having a NNID affects that popup, but I do know that version 1.0.0, which you can get by using a physical copy of the game (possibly only from early print runs?) and not letting it update online, has no Miiverse integration at all
Thats probably fake. There is ALOT of cuts in the video. The timer goes up on Soinning Spirit Clouds (The ghosthouse at Meringue Clouds) From 99 to literally 300! Fake.
This is just silly, if motion control doesn't count as a button you could technically design a controller which is entirely motion to control mario, and the amount of button presses would be reduced to 0. Fun concept, but your rules suck.

Deluxe is probably the best overall choice, I might try this challenge again for u deluxe
