Fishing Frenzy:Whiting and Plaice Galore in Calm Waters!

- Sea fishing at Shoreham Harbour by the Turbines to catch an early tide.
We fished from the beach in front of the turbines and all caught.
Travelled to Shoreham Harbour to arrive on the beach to get set up to catch the 10.15am tide. Winds non-existent and sea flat calm.
Baits used were black lug, rag worm and fish cocktails.
I was joined by Keith, Martin and Rob and fished 2 hours over the top of the tide.
Species caught were Whiting and Plaice.

Hi Michael certainly made a change to catch something for a change and have a laugh which always seems to help however dark life can get. Laughter and friendship a great mixture of medicine to raise my spirits.

Hi Shane the lug are very special down here 😂😂😂 the fishing really helps me and am sure also helps my mind which is part of the battle for recovery.
Good company also a real bonus and banter is soul food.

Some good fish caught there Paul. The whiting are particularly tasty at this time of year. Keep your body strong through resistance and cardio exercise. Taxus baccata is one of the common herbal remedies used in the West for maladies similar to yours.
Big hello and I do like a whiting goujon with chips and they are a much underrated fish.
Thank you for the advice re carding and exercise and do a lot to keep getting old at bay and to help with recovery.
I will investigate your suggestion re herbal remedy and your advice is much appreciated.

Cancer is a sod but as you say and are still around to prove mindset has curative properties rather than reaching for another pill. My consultant has reinforced this.
Saddened to hear your predicament but the club we are in is all too common and I always thought it would never be me but here I am. Two ways to deal with it, give up or enjoy each day regardless of weather, aches or pains and drink cider 😂

Hi Colin thanks for the support means a lot to me. Sitting here with cider and making a few traces for the weekend and plan is to use bigger baits to try and get past the whiting fest.

@@colinwakeling6367 I have been using big baits regularly and like you never much luck. The odd dogfish, maybe it’s the variety of bait that I am using and need to change.

Hi Ray thanks for those words of positive feedback and encouragement means a huge amount to me and fair Facked me over 😂 I try and make videos that I would like to watch and are a bit different and show the reality of fishing from a beach with all the ups and downs involved.
Am obsessed with sea fishing and wish I had more time, but am aiming to get out more once recovered and retired from working for a living.
Take your point completely about eating the fish and do take one or two but it was so calm that I could see them recover and swim away rather than be seagulls food. Cheers and take care 🎣👍👍🍺🍺

We walked past you just before 8am when Alan opened up the gate for us. Wondered how you guys got on. We just had small Plaice, Whiting and a Pout. Darren & Neil 6 whiting each, i only had 2 but one was 42cm. Shame you had packed in when we left, we were looking forward to a chat. Hopefully see you soon 👍

Sounds like you all caught a few and a 42 cm whiting not too shabby. They are such a game fish and very underrated, fortunately I like catching them and also taste nice filleted and shallow fried with chips yum.

Great session , i dont mind catching whiting , alot of people hate it , ive not been able to get out and do some 🎣for quite a few months now , had a prob with the car and family commitments have put fishing on hold but im bloody itching to get out and have a session . Family are important and one thing I have learned is time goes fast and suddenly they are all grown up and gone onto leading their own lives and having adventures. I came back to fishing after they were out there in the world and the sea will still be out there. Cheers and love to your family 👍🎣🍺😎

Hi Paul to go through and deal with your current health issues you are such an inspiration and encouragement for those of us that are house bound right now with different health issues and for me personally it makes me more determined to follow your example and when I'm physically able I will be back out on the beach doing something I love. "Sea Fishing" its great to see you catching this session and really it's not about catching fish, it's about being out with friends having great craic. So keep doing what you do and hope that soon you will get good news and you will be clear from the hateful disease that plagues so many lives.

Hi Peter feel for you being housebound and if my videos bring a bit of light relief into your day then some of the reasons that I make videos are working.
I really hope you can get back out soon and I have found recently that just being out and having a laugh brings a calmness to my mind in the rather turbulent times that I have been going through and has certainly taught me the importance of the moment as health can turn on a whim.
You sum it up perfectly with the words having a great Craic which is as important as catching fish.

I was on the arm and caught 3 whiting, over 37 rods as there was a match.
Really quiet.

Hi and big hello and have a few health challenges but dealing with them with treatment and there is light at the end of the tunnel although treatment not pleasant. Fishing really does help.
Have got some new Penn rods on recommendation and they are matched with Penn reels and cast like a dream but cost a wee bit, but I needed cheering up with some new toys. Still have the leery rods and will give them an airing soon. Cheers to you and take care 👍🎣🎣🍺😎

@@oli_t_sea_angling hi I got the new Penn tidals and also treated myself to the Penn rods made specifically for the reels with the adjustable reel seat. Maybe a bit much to have four rods but couldn’t resist them. Thanks for the message of support re recovery really appreciated 👍
