it's so funny because ı originally from antalya and ı was living in kadıköy. Today ı am moving to melbourne and watching this video in qatar airport while waiting my melbourne transfer flight. this video just hit me emotionally. ❤ keep do what you doing its so fun to watch
Hey guys! As a local in kadıköy I really appreciate the fact that you guys visit here as well! Most tourists only visit Taksim and Sultanahmet and they miss out so much... Like you said, Kadıköy is more chill and more of a local place since taksim and sultanahmet is filled with tourists mostly. Also in kadıköy there are more parks, green, and nature .Young population hang out and have fun in cafes, restaurants, parks, and bars as well. Also there is another version of İstiklal Street in here too, called ''Bağdat'' Street. It is like a mini version of Avenue des Champs-Élysées ! Anyways, Love from Turkey!
"Kebap" is the general name of the process of cooking meat, which is grill on charcoal. So it's not "kebap" nor "shawarma". It's "döner kebap". There are many other kebaps, and "shawarma" is the Arabic version of döner kebap.
Istanbul is indeed amazing! It was my sweet escape when I lived in Turkey for 2 months. It's such a memorable experience that I documented in a vlog. 💚
Thank you for visiting Istanbul as a Turk and introducing the features of this place. If you come next time, try eating KOKOREÇ. Not everyone, but some people like it very much. I recommend you to eat it, especially at night. Also, BOZA for drinking. I don't like it, but maybe if you want to try it, try it too.
Welcome to Türkiye guys but this is "Döner", not "Shawarma" :) There is no such thing like "Shawarma", it just version of döner with garlic sauce and that's all :) People just named it like this))) Especially in arabic countries and old soviet countries)) Why we named it "Döner"? Because dönmek = to turn, "döner" means "something is turning" and as you see they're cooking it and the meat is turning around))
hmm...nice that th you back on trip again...miss atching both your videos....amazing foods & architectural buildings etc....Keep it up love birds Justin & Alina ❤❤
@@project_where You haven't eaten kebab, there were so many delicious dishes, for example, if you had eaten künefe, it was delicious in Iskender, it is a delicious food, my Turkey is always delicious, our people are warm-blooded and no matter what country they are from, we know them as ourselves.
Great vid, now I want to go to Turkey/Turkiye. Justin, what are the Japanese characters on your shirt? Sounds like juice, but why would that be on a t-shirt? Brand?
There is no dish called shawarma in Turkey. Shawarma is a type of kebab that is native to Arab and Levantine cuisine. So the name of the Turkish dish is doner. I’m at the third minute of the video and I hear another wrong information. The country is not 99% Muslim. It is hard to find a real statistic about this because it is something that is written on the identity card blabla. if you are going to a country and making a video to inform people, do it right. you seem like you can’t do it
The 99% rate is probably the funniest lie told to us Turks by the state in years. While I was studying in high school, nearly half of the class had different beliefs (deist, atheist, agnostic...). Of course, this may vary depending on the city or even the district you live in. I think currently the rate of Muslims in the country is around 85% at most.
I live in Turkey and the thing i wanna say is the cost is not cheap here. It's only cheap for tourist bcs our money is worthless. Unfortunately, it is really difficult for those who work and live here to make a living:(
I am always again surprised to see how tourists enjoy the cheap street food in central areas of İstanbul like Sultanahmet or Taksim. There is certainly good food in Turkey (although the taste and quality of ingredients is generally somewhat lower than in the past because of agricultural industrial production being dominant), but I know few Turks and foreign residents who would still eat with pleasure döner or kumpir from these street corner places. Cheap meat of unknown origin is used, sometimes even smelling badly. Next time try the more classy restaurants, and you will see what Turkish kitchen is.
What the f shawarma? We don’t call it shawarma it is döner!! Both words cames from Turkish shawarma derived from çevirme both Turkish word. But its very offensive if you call döner as shawarma 😮

(26 y.o) is atheist, deist or some versions of it. For next gen It is higher. So, If you seen a hijabi in a touristic place, It's likely she's an Arab, not Turkish.
