Those days when we started the train journey from badulla from podi menike , we were so eager to watch coupling of engine to Podi menike train. Those days the engine that pulls the night mail train from Colombo is the one used to pull the podi menike train in the morning and if the night mail gets delayed the departure of podi menike will also get delayed

Train Engine coupling and banking are two interesting things in Sri Lankan railways.
I know a train driver called Mr. Cyril Sugathapala. He is now retired and a well experienced driver who has driven Class M6, Class S12, and Class S14 in mainline railway. Is there a way to contact him? Do you know a train driver who is very friendly? I want to go on a cab ride in Class S14 and Class M6.
