I think i am having the same issue my golf’s clutch went down all the way when pumped it did work little and went down again and under the slave cylinder side it is a leak now
If it's a external slave cylinder try replacing that 1st
Hi, when you say bleed, you mean pump the clutch pedal while the nipple is open or close?
Sorry it take two people to bleed it. So I couldn't show it. I was in the car pumping the clutch up and down my brother opened the bleed nipple and let the fluid come through, after few pumps when there is no air bubbles coming through lock it up should be ok. Hope that helps next time al truro show you
open bleeder nipple and get the fluid to come out without air get some one to press the clutch pedal ,, keep pumping the clutch pedal
Is this for 2.0 TSI engines? Have a 2103 VW CC and clutch pedal sometimes is getting stuck down and I have to pull up the pedal with my foot

I’m sorry to tell you but the cc has a concentric slave cylinder, meaning it’s inside the transmission and it’s basically apart of your throw out bearing. So your whole tranny has to come out . Easy indication that your slave is leaking is that there is brake fluid dripping from the bottom crack of the transmission, Good luck.
This is not the same for 2012 Jetta 2.0L TDI Sportwagen 6 speed manual transmission is it?
The procedure is pretty much the same. The only difference will be the gear box is bigger and heavier than the 5 speed gearbox. And might have a concentric slave cylinder instead of a external slave
@@TEAMR4ULTV Thanks. I got down to the trany, the slave cylinder is not there. So it means transmission removal correct?
@@XpoH2007 that is my understanding. Jetta mk6 has an internal slave that requires tranny removal

You have to see what kind of slave cylinder you have if it's a concentric then it will be different if its external then should be pretty much the same
should you not have changed the oring on the hydraulic line just for good measure? :)
If you want to you can, but If theres no leaks then you dont have to, plus it doesn't come with the clutch kit also

why replace cylinder? What was original problem in detail please?
It was leaking and he had no clutch pedal.
He had to fill the Brake fluid reservoir up and pump the clutch to get the pedal back.
@@TEAMR4ULTV I have my clutch pedal gone in 2012 Passat 1.6tdi, how can I check if it's the master cylinder or the slave cylinder that needs replacing

How would you know whether its the master or slave???
Check for obvious leaks first but To be honest I dont know. But if it's an external slave cylinder just Replace that first it the cheaper one

Look under the bonnet if you just see a pipe coming out from the gearbox for the clutch fluid then it's a concentric slave. If it has the two bolt fitting slave cylinder on out side then obviously it's an external slave cylinder.

You mentioned its the same for a golf? I got a golf mk7, and was told they think it’s a gearbox out job…
Some VW's do have them inside the gear box that's if it is a concentric

@@TEAMR4ULTV its a 1.4tsi, I just had a look and it's definitely attached to the outside of the gearbox. Problem is there seems to be no clearance to slide it out. I'm going to upload a vid in about 20 minutes on my youtube channel. Could you please advise if the part in the way can be removed? Or if it a support for the gearbox itself? (meaning the gearbox needs to be taken out or supported while I change the slave cylinder)

This is not applicable for the 2011 - 2018 VW Jetta (6th Generation).
