    Just a heads up if the abs sensor gets stuck and shears off when removing. Use a small long screw and screw into the remainder of it. You’ll be able to then use some vice grips on the screw and pull the rest out.

    Hello I hope that this message gets to you I have a 2012 Volkswagen Passat sedan also and the exact same thing is happening to my car right now. All the lights displayed on the dashboard in the video or the exact same lights that are on mine. My question is that when replacing the sensor are you replacing the both of them on both sides or is it just one sensor?? It is the ABS wheel speed sensor correct?? The reason why I'm asking is because when I put that in on Google is since me to Amazon which shows me to sensors on the left and the right side

    Great video thanks for sharing . So far most of the videos I watched about the sensors are showing similar issues And resolution
    Lots and lots of problem with the CC are
    1) being the sensors
    2) being the front Right tire 🛞 TPMS SENSOR
    3) been the rear tail light 💡 bulbs left or right biting quickly as you put them on .
    4) also my car showing washer fluid even tough it’s full .
    My conclusion is the wire harnesses for the trunk needs a recall from #VW to solve these problems. Because those light bulb 💡 won’t last a week they’ll burned again and again. Before I had a quick DIY on my car my front bulb 💡 were also burning 🔥 quick . Common Volkswagen it’s time to recall those issues.

    Actually useful video on this repair without taking too much time.
    Only thing I would do is make sure you filter out frequencies below 80-100hz if you could, because the wind is very distracting because it's so bass heavy.

    I’ve just completed this job on our 2008 Beetle, it’s straightforward but I had to smash the old ones out they weld themselves in. Clean out the hole when you get it out and use some copper slip. At the same time I changed the discs and pads. Totally transformed the car.

    I changed my rear right sensor on the same car as in the video. The fault code is still on. The wire supplies 24volts to the sensor. The new sensor shows resistance when thested with a multimeter, the old one does not. Anyone has a clue whats wrong? The abs ring?

      I had the same issue with my left rear sensor after replacing myself and I took it in.

    • @tu69auka
      @tu69auka 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@smartersean i changed the abs ring on my car. It was worn out. Installed a new TRW sensor and the car did not accept it. After many trials and errrors and digging on the internet found out that i should have bought the original sensor from ATE. So the problem for me was that the abs sensor went out with the abs ring at the same time. I changed everything myself. I was quoted over 200 euros at a mechanics workshop. I bought the tools i needed with the parts for that amount. There are videos on youtube showing how to change the abs sensor on a vw rear axel. Quite simple. Just one note. If you will be buying an ATE sensor don't buy it of ebay for cheap. I did that. It was not the original part and i damaged the screw thread. It did not fit properly.

    My issue started with a light thumping sound from the front right. It was like this for 5 months. Then 1 weeks after having a tow bar fitted - maybe just coincidence - I got all the lights as in the video. 1 month later I got a red alarm brake warning light and at the fron right a grinding noise on hard braking. I had it in to an independent who said "3 identical fault codes present for NSR OSR ABS sensor. Removed both rear wheel bearings to inspect for damage to ABS rings - all ok - check plugs and connection and wiring at plug all ok" Basically they could not trace the fault. Recommending an electric expert check the wiring. No idea what to do next. I took it to another garage and took him for a ride - he did say the braking noise at the front right is the abs kicking in. He said he would do the same as other garage. I have a 2013 model with 117K miles. No taking this to a VW dealer no way. Any ideas? Anybody? I have 8 months left on the MOT and it drives ok.
