BA Club Suites BUSINESS Class & Galleries Club Lounges

- I'm flying with British Airways in their Club Suites business class today. I'm starting the journey at London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 5, which is BA's home base. I check out all 3 Galleries Club lounges: South, North and B Gates. The flight is on a refurbished 777-200ER with the new Club Suites installed. Onboard I review the service, dining and drinks, as well as discuss the cost of the flight. Eventually we descend and land in Riyadh (RUH) in Saudi Arabia.

I'm really trying to imagine any time (even when new) when those BA lounge toilets and showers were pleasing. No, can't imagine they were! But at least you got your champagne to soften the blow. Another great flight today, and your travel pics from the Edge of the World looked insanely good! Thanks for sharing Yann.
Right?! If I recall correctly BA were planning on renovating the T5 lounges but then the pandemic hit so it never happened. The vastness of The Edge of the World is breathtaking, the pics might look good but it is so much more impressive in real life. Thanks for watching again!

Yep as Akash said, depending on your plane type you might have the old school seat. When you go to select your seat online if the layout is 1-2-1 then it's the new Club Suites. If it's 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 it's the old Club World seat. Enjoy your flight and thanks for watching!
The toilets are something out of 1950's sterile hospital setting. It really speaks volumes about BA and what they think of their higher end passengers. I personally always choose a different airline when possible. Virgin does it best IMO.

The new-ish BA Club World is a huge improvement on the old 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 arrangements. As you say it's not industry leading but I've found it to be very comfortable, better storage options, pretty good food/drinks and I've always found BA FAs to be superb. Great video.
It'll be a good day when the entire fleet has Club Suites fitted. A few more years to go I believe!
I think you really need to get out more. So many other airlines are doing it better (a lot better) these days.

Why can’t the attendants make up the bedding like any other Asian or UAE business class?
Hoping to do this exact route this year but since i have the free BA amex card will have to book economy with points and hope i can upgrade at checkin. Just wondering did you go during On-peak timings as i have seen it for 50k avios +£100 in taxes
The wall in club suite is quite low. You can clearly see other passenger heads when sit upright. You only get some privacy when the seat is recline or turn flat. Qatar Q-Suite provides more privacy though.
It definitely feels like a gimmick just to say there is a door. Like you say, when sitting upright it doesn't really do anything for privacy but I do like it when sleeping to shut you off from the happenings in the aisle. Qsuite is miles ahead and the suite door/walls are considerably higher.
The green shirt goes good with your eyes! Surprised you didn't mention the Whispering Angel Bar in the T5B lounge! The BA new suite is alright. The door is pointless, I feel - it's too low, unlike Qatar's Q-suite, which is just industry leading. BA has to compete with good OneWorld products now - I find Finnair's new business class lounge seat to to be second to Qatar Q-suite. Now JAL has a new product; and even AA's old business class is at least reverse herringbone and their food is great; plus their lounge/showers are far superior to BAs. They have a lot to do to catch up!
The Whispering Angel section of the lounge was closed when I was there for refurbishment (they were adding the new sofas) so I didn't get to film it. I have been previously when it was newly opened and it looked a bit tacky in my opinion (and I'm also not a fan of Whispering Angel). The door is definitely pointless when sitting up, it doesn't really afford you any extra privacy but it's nice when sleeping to close off your space. I'll have to try out the new JAL product soon, it's high on my list (and so is Tokyo!)
I think the hard product in BA Club World is good, the new suite is definitely an improvement on the old Club World seat. It's the soft product which is inconsistent and leaves BA lagging behind its competitors. The catering is particularly poor and the bedding provided didn't look good either. How was seat 8K? Was it a bad seat and affected by noise from the galley?
I've flown a few times on the 772 in seat 8K. I like it because it's further back from the other seats (in it's own row) which makes it feel a bit more private and is more discreet for filming. Usually the noise from the galley isn't an issue (apart from some cutlery clanking about during meal service prep). I did have one flight where the crew were talking and laughing pretty loudly in the galley during an overnight flight but on every other occasion it's not been an issue.
Was the catering that poor? All looked fine to me, yes maybe not the best but looked perfectly edible and possibly tasty enough aside from the Fruit dessert thing

Hi, do you know how long it would take (about) to walk from the lounge at B-gates back to the A-gates? Would like to use the B-gates lounge due to it being the more quiet of the 3 but departing A-gates. Thank you
It depends how fast you walk but I'd say around 10 minutes. You could walk from A to B instead of taking the transit train to the lounge and time yourself so you have a better idea for your walk back. Another thing to be careful of is that the B gates lounge departure screens only show departures for the B and C gates (not A) - so you'll have to keep track another way. The Heathrow app should do the trick, sometimes BA's own app doesn't update boarding status properly - you're on your own if you miss your flight!

Flying to Houston from LHR in a few weeks, and planning to visit the B gate lounge - just my luck though if my flight gets assigned to leave from A10…
Travelling as a couple I find the middle two Club Suites too far apart to converse easily. Storage much improved however and aisle access also a big plus.
Yep you definitely need to lean forwards a bit if travelling as a couple to talk properly. I'll take that over having to climb over sleeping passengers to get out of my seat!
No mention that they bring your “business class” meal on an annoying f plastic tray that slides around and is too small for the table…all other airlines business class serve the food on the table. No salt n pepper shakers just paper sachets that gave 3 crumbs of pepper inside if you are lucky

Ah okay, I guess the bedding bags got mixed up at some point. Although I have to say, my last 2 Club Suites flights have had the same bedding as in this video so it seems to get mixed up regularly!

This is not a review as much as it used to be a vlog. No critique. BA’s onboard staff can be hot n cold. They treat Business Class travellers as if they are economy and always have to be beckoned to do everything like you are disturbing them…20 years ago they were so polite, now the gen that has replaced that mentality don’t gaf. Travel on the Asian or UAE airlines business classes and feel the difference.
