Hi Mary, I am new at this. So do we decant the fire cider into a container at the end? Also, does it need to be refrigerated? How long will it last in the refrigerator? And can it be frozen into ice cubes and stored that way ...without losing effectiveness? Thank you so much!! I've made your bone broth and acv. Now planning to make this, elderberry and you home remedies. 💞

I just made a batch. I am using what I made last year. I used jalepeno, horseradish, onion, lemons, garlic, cayenne pepper and also tumeric. I grated fresh horseradish. I cried through it all. Lol. I got a sinus infection and took the tonic four times a day and got immediate relief.

Tip: Mixed Fire Cider tonic, 2T honey, 8oz cranberry juice, and water in a liter container. Sipped it over a day. Did 4 days worth of the mix, plus extra water and managed to knock a UTI out without antibiotics. This stuff rocks.

Garlic is queen! My daughter taught me, when you feel you're coming down with something, or exposed to someone sick, slice or chop a clove of garlic and just swallow the pieces with water, a few times a day, kills what is trying to take root. It works!

Isn't that the truth!! My mom is Italian and before this virus broke out, we would go to our favorite Italian restaurant once per week for lunch. We would load up on the garlic!! The next day when my sweet husband would drive the car, he would smell all the garlic and say..."Oh my! There were two sweet Italian ladies in this car!!" LOL!! Love, Mary

I love the fact that you don't peel your onions and garlic and that you use purple and white /yellow onions. I'm definitely making this again soon with out peeling my onions and garlic. I add in a lemon, orange and I don't peel them either. I also add in habanero peppers, Serrano peppers, fresh thyme, parsley, rosemary, black peppercorns, fresh turmeric, horseradish and ginger.

We made 2 gallons last week. 1st time for us and we also added lemon, orange, and limes, jalapeno, turmeric, blk pepper, cranberry, rosemary and thyme. It's beautiful. Cool thing...garlic turns a beautiful blue as the sulfides ferment. Nice surprise. Can't wait until it's done. Our organic market owner said she used to carry one but it was very expensive but still couldn't keep it on the shelf. I'm going to give her a bottle.

I did mine with HR, ginger, turmeric, garlic, carrot, orange, lemon, lime, habanero chilly, jalapeño, and of course, cider vinegar. I did not use gloves. I love the blend of smells. Cannot wait for the 2 months to be up.

As a side note - I suffered terrible GERD for years, so badly, I was taking expensive prescription medication for it for almost 10 years.
Well, several years ago, I began taking Bragg’s apple cider vinegar for weight loss and noticed almost immediately that I wasn’t having acid reflux (especially at night). It virtually reset my digestive system and I haven’t had reflux since, and I haven’t had to take that prescription in almost 6 years now. It’s amazing stuff... and while I don’t take the apple cider vinegar quite as often anymore, I still keep a large bottle of it in my kitchen and take it at least 2-3 times a week now, just for my overall health.

Big Rosemary Gladstar follower. Even took her home course back in the late 80’s. I found it so interesting that I enrolled for 2 years at the school she started in Forestville, CA. The CA School Of Herbal Studies. In 2000.
I still get all herbs from a store bearing her name “Rosemarys Garden” in Sebastapol CA. In Sonoma county.
She has long moved away out to Maine I believe. But her love of herbs and her gifted way in teaching still remains.
I’m in AZ and learning about desert herbals now but do still order some of my most sacred herbs from their small shop.
Yes it’s time to get the fire cider going
Thanks Mary reminding me of my good memories of Rosemary and all she has taught the world 🌎

Your videos with recipes, tips, and traditional knowledge of things is actually invaluable Mary. These kinds of remedies and traditional uses of herbs etc, even traditional recipes NEED to be preserved and cherished. I am a fellow traditionalist and herbalist, and I too have preserved OLD family recipes for food preservation, herbal remedies, poultices, medicines, and food recipes too. I have always been fond of all the old traditions and made sure our Grandmothers and Great Grandmothers recipes, food preserving techniques, old-time recipes, and homemade remedies were all preserved for future generations. Your show is always like going home to Grandma's again, though you are much younger !!! LOL LOVE your videos. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I used your apple vinegar recipe instead of using apple cider vinegar. I made fire cider vinegar. I really like to use it in the kitchen.❤❤ Thank you so much. I like the flavors too much to have it limited to a tonic. It makes a great salad dressing, marinade and mocktails.

I still have some fire cider left from last year that I keep in the fridge. After I'm done making it I mix almost the same amount of honey in it. This makes a wonderul salad dressing or for asian dips and just in water. In the past I've always done the inch method. One in of garlic in the jar then an inch of onion and so on. I add the cayenne after it's done right before using if I need it otherwise I omit. I planted horseradish this year, they say it's fairly easy to grow and will seperate and spread on its own or if you dig up and break off a smal pice to leave in the ground it will start a new plant. It's very difficult to get horseradish where I live for some reason. Hopefully next year I'll have my own.

Mary, I love your counters especially when you poured the Fire Cider Tonic into it's bottle made me feel at home so to speak. Also add just some honey and amino acids on part of an evening meal adds a fantastic pop. These are a couple of ideas that broke us into the habit of having some daily. So after doing more reading, I bought small garlic bulbs and only used one. From what I've read, garlic has some properties that keep blood from clotting. I take a blood thinner already, so I'm going easy on that. I did drop 4 cinnamon sticks in. I love cinnamon. I added tumeric as well. We're not allowed sharp knives where I live, so I just pulled everything apart. I also dropped 10mg of CBD infused coffee grounds. Just to see what would happen. Don't worry, I'll drink it no matter what. :)

I bought some of this that was made locally that they called “snake oil “! I couldn’t bring myself to drink it so I put a little on top of my salad, as part of the dressing, along with some olive oil. Probably not proper, but I got it down. Now I will need to try this! Thanks Mary!

I'm going to be making some of this, for sure. My usual remedy, if I get a scratchy throat or the sniffles, is to put one or two drops of tea tree oil into my throat. Ghastly taste! But in no time, I'm right as rain, with symptoms completely gone.
I once read of a local chicken farm which put some of this concoction into their chickens' drinking water every day. It was a tonic to keep them disease-free and healthy.

Rosemary Gladstar is definitely a STAR! Don’t have her new book yet but can’t wait!. I make this every year at the same time I make your cough syrup. If I don’t leave it out on counter where it is visible I forget to stir it and I think stirring helps the extraction. However my kitchen is sunny, so I knitted a cover for the jar (stop laughing. ☺️) to keep it dark. I’ve also found that a knitted cover on my honey jars keeps the honey from crystallizing as quickly in our heat. Works for me . . . Sprouts is another source for fresh horseradish. When I find it, I buy a big piece and keep it wrapped in plastic wrap (a tip from Rosemary Gladstar-the only time she says she recommends plastic wrap). A big piece lasts all year that way until it comes in again. Thanks again, Mary, for all you teach us.

I've been making Fire Cider (I've always called it Master Tonic) for quite awhile. I didn't realize that Rosemary came up with it. I take it daily to keep UTI's at bay. Have also used it to treat bronchitis a couple times. Could not miss work one time so I got up through the night and took it also. Felt good enough for work in the morning. Fire Cider is the best anti-biotic ever. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing.

Definitely making firecider soon! There's a funny scene in an older movie where Harry Dean Stanton plays "Kizer Pease" who is so sick with flu that the kids put him in a tub and cook TONS of onions --which they pour over his chest. I wonder how the cast and crew survived all those onions!... That was some kind of poultice, lol! Thank you for sharing the healthy tonics like this and elderberry syrup.

Mary I love that you can mix and use what you like in this tonic. I’ve seen others make it and they make it so hot I’d never be able to take it. I know I could take this one. Thank you so much for sharing Mary. God bless you and your precious family sweet friend.
