    Great video. Very detailed, good explanations without being long-winded, good camera (framing, lighting, focus), good sound. Thank you for putting so much effort into this.

    Thank you for your in depth, comprehensive presentation. This is the most lucid overview of Shimano components that I have ever viewed. Thanks for bringing it to us.

    Very thorough and helpful to see the differences and be able to tell what matters and what may not. Thanks and I want to see more videos like this, please.

    Great video, thank you. Adding to the cassette, you can also change out the small cogs when worn. Those are the ones that let go first, so you can get much more life out of the cassette, which I think is absolutely great.

    Nearly perfect!
    Thanks a lot. Helps me at work.
    3 things:
    1. Add personal opinion like: weight saving and money well spend tip. (Already sawn in comments)
    2. Do this for sram as well please, especially with the quality of explanation!!
    3. Thanks for doing this so thorough!! I really appreciate it.🙇🏼‍♂️

    Myself I upgraded from Deore to XT some years ago, and have not looked since then. The difference I have noticed, is that when adjust the drivetrain (derailleur and on on) and keep it maintained with oil and stuff, it lasts longer until I have to readjust it again.

    XT shifter and derailleur
    SLX crank and cassette*
    XT/XTR chain
    *if you have money to spend and want to save some weight, go for Garbaruk's cassettes - they're lighter and less expensive than XTR and at the same time are creak-free.

      Garbaruk is probably the next cassette i will try.

    thank you so much for going into the details, no one else has done this comprehensive of a review. which derailleur do you think will be the most durable for getting wacked? My old 11 speed x01 was a beast but my gx eagle derailleurs are constantly getting bent which is annoying

    • @BikeRumor
      @BikeRumor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing!
      Well, if you're constantly banging into stuff and breaking them, I'd probably go with SLX. If not, then just pick whichever one fits your budget and/or needs.

    1:45 I guess it's a possibility that's why all my 4 sets of Deore M6000 warranty replacements leaked. I suspected that there was a difference in quality control.

    I have a tandem with the 3x9 XT combo and shifting is great whether it is a hot day or the temperature drops below 0°C/32°F.
    Will any 12sp group perform equally well given the length of the real derailleur cable is about 2m/6ft?

    Hi , I have the deore on my bike, do you think i can switch the idle bushing for bearing, will it fit, I think it would be a nice cheap upgrade for a crispier shift

    1:22 this is it, most important! Best review of them all, thank you for not abusing your power and tricking buyers.
    Still not a great video, it could be a lot better and more interessting.

    Interesting! A quick comment on the cables. I dislike coated cables. The coated cables I've tried work well for a few weeks but as the coating degrades so does the shifting performance to the point that the cables prematurely need replaced. Anyone else have this experience?

    • @ChesterChi3
      @ChesterChi3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works fine for me while it's left alone, but when I replaced a coated Shimano cable, the coating came off and clogged the inside of the cable housing. That's quite annoying.

    Can I use xtr chain on my deore xt groupset 12 speed.

  • @waynerenshaw-multi-outdoor4521
    @waynerenshaw-multi-outdoor4521 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Problem with bonding especially on the XTR the bonding can fail, R8000, 9100 plus others of Shimano that use this bonding method, there's a lot that have failed, so hollow forged would be the best move ... 😉

    • @misteraxeman2680

      1x is superior in nearly every way that's why

      @Maciej Jan Długosz haha you sound like a roadie. 11 and 12 speed chains last for a year or two which for most people is definitely not a big deal. I'm not sure about loss of efficiency but it doesn't seem to be a concern for 95% of people. As far as a long cage, smashing it against rocks is pretty uncommon and if you're riding like that, then you aren't riding cross country or road which then there's no reason to care about max efficiency
