Why do you prefer 6 bolts over centerlock? I have read that centerlock can develop play between rotor and hub. I need to choose new wheels so I have to decide centerlock or 6 bolts
@@LoveMTB thanks for your reply! In the video you show only 6 bolts rotors so I thought you use 6 bolt system. I have stripped t25 bolts and is a PITA, so I keep buying new bolts. Centerlock seems a lot easier system. I was afraid because comments in internet about centerlock problems, but they are a very little minority, most people are happy with centerlock and have not problems with the centerlock interface. I would choose center lock wheels with adapters to 6-bolt. Thats the same combo I came up with, seems like the most reasonable tradeoff in terms of price to performance / weight. Now if only shimano hadn't canceled the 'scylence' hubs ... my current micro spline hub on my dt swiss 1200 is sooo loud, it's kind of annoying actually.
That sound is from your DT hub. Doesn't matter which freehub body type you put on there. The system 8100 wheels are still silent...
@@Barkything yeah you're right, I kinda got things mixed up there... Shimano did work on silent ones though, that I know for sure.
Will a m6100 rd work fine with slx m7100 10-45T cassette?
Sir mix compents that you made at the end are boost compatible?
What is your frame in this video sir?
Xtr shifter, xt crank and rear mech. I’m not a fan of shimano chains prefer kmc sl chains I’d be tempted to go sunrace cassette and kmc chain. My 10spd setup of the same cassette n chain combo works great
@@LoveMTB there’s options for sure as I’d be open to try something like an e-thirteen cassette with 12spd mech n shifter. is there a short cage mech if I use the 10-45 cassette on a 1x?
Is there anything I need to change from your suggested setup if I plan to run a 2x setup? Like cranktset and front derailleur?
@@LoveMTB SLX, Deore, or XT? What would you recommend?

Sure👍
now we just need supply chains to catch back up, i cant even buy brake pads 😆😐
Yeah. I can't order nothing right now
I hear ya
I want to buy a new 10t and 12t sprocked but its not available 😳
Hey man, really liking your videos! Also, can you confirm that the 6100 brakes have less degrees of rotation in the i spec compared to the 7100 brakes? Do you think that and the Pin instead of the screw on the caliper could be an issue? Thanks in advance for your help!
@@LoveMTB Thanks!
There is a difference but for me it doesn't matter at all.
I always have the levers as close to each other as possible and I think the added movement clearance doesn't go in that direction.
Why do you prefer 6 bolts over centerlock? I have read that centerlock can develop play between rotor and hub. I need to choose new wheels so I have to decide centerlock or 6 bolts
Using CL rotos on CL hubs over 2 yrs on 2 bikes and no play at all, still firm as 6 bolts version.
@@LoveMTB thanks for your reply! In the video you show only 6 bolts rotors so I thought you use 6 bolt system. I will go with centerlock because I take off the rotors 1)when wash the bike 2)when lubricate the transmision 3)when give maintenance to the hubs. So centerlock will be the way. I have stripped t25 bolts and is a PITA, so I keep buying new bolts. Centerlock seems a lot easier system. I was afraid because comments in internet about centerlock problems, but they are a very little minority, most people are happy with centerlock and have not problems with the centerlock interface. Thank you!
Also never had issues with cl.
I would choose center lock wheels with adapters to 6-bolt. (There are no adapters for the other direction)
That way you get the best of both worlds
The finned discs from Shimano look great but only come with centerlock. Centerlock is also a lot faster to take the disc off for cleaning.
6-bolt can be taken apart with a Multitool though. But when do you ever need to take off you disc trailside?
@Maciej Jan Długosz ouch...

Would a Shimano chain improve the under load shifting of a Sram setup?
it would most likely slip like the road stuff
cs m7100 10-45 or 10-51?
Deore or slx ?
What's the total MSRP on this optimal mix?
Is it okay deore shifter to xt rd?
Can you put an xt shifter with an slx derailleur
Definitely
@@LoveMTB and it will still have the multi shift functionality? Cause i only need slx groupset but want the functionality of the xt shifter
@@cs.adventures You know from my other video about shifters what you're getting with the XT shifter. So yes🙂

Hello sir 😅 Im planning to buy SLX crank 34t to my 11 speed shimano drivetrain is it compatible with m5100 or there will be some issues with the crank teeth and 11 speed chain? 😅😅😅
@@LoveMTB thank you so much! 😁
I got the whole xt group set, i went with shimano all together just because i like the feel of the brake, i like them even more now that I’ve learnt how to dial out the dead zone so that as soon as you apply the brakes its an instant bite. I would like to know the difference between xt and xtr brakes. But im also hoping that they upgrade the saint brakes soon
As always the difference between XT and XTR is pretty much only weight.
XT has all the features from XTR.
XTR may have some slightly better heat dissipation but for almost every non-professional rider I doubt anyone would notice that.
I ride full xt. My ocd wont let me mix n match :(. XT is the sweetspot for me.
LoveMTB can i mix the SLX brake lever with the XT Piston? M7100 with M8100 ?
@@LoveMTB does xt7100 calipers brake the same than the xt 8100 , they sram equal
I think I’m the only one using deore cassette here😅. I don’t like the black paint peeling on larger gears.
FS-XT
RD-XT
FC-CT
CS-Deore
CN-Deore
BR-XT
I'd buy a full XTR group set only if I race 😎
It is the XT Race groupset after all...🙂
Full XT 8100+8120 brakes
Why would you recommend xtr chain while xt is almost half the price?
@@LoveMTB Jesus dude, you're right! Shimano ditched siltec for xt in 12 speed. I ride 11 speed and only difference between xt and xtr are hollow pins (10 grams) and price.
Super reportage
merci👍👍👍👍
Great video! Can you do the same with Sram?

Whats the largest cassette you can get to use with a medium cage mech?
Medium, 11-51 without worries
Wow. I was thinking 42 or 46. I have an xc/trail bike and i dont want to add to much weight to the back end. It has a 11x36 now with a zee short cage and im looking for a nice light combo to help with climbing. Just dont want to...
1 add a lot of weight
2 spend a lot of money.

My 12 speed XT spec bike came with KMC chain and didn’t feel the difference in shifting compared to 11 speed XT. I replaced the KMC chain with XT and wow... butter smooth shifting up and down, better than 11 speed XT.
I've noticed quite a few new bikes being specced with shimano 12 speed cassettes and kmc chains and cheap cranks... penny pinching bike manufacturers

The Deore chain is 1 gram lighter than the Xtr chain but about triple the price
And also the Slx crankset is lighter than the Xt crankset
whens 12 speed di2 coming 😁
Shimanos 100th anniversary is in march iirc. Probably then
Hmmm i like shimano 😊
Cool
The XTR 91xx crankset has different design than XT 81xx and SLX 71xx. Xt and SLX has old style and XTR has pre-load adjuster on the non-drive side. I dont believe Shimano cranksets chainline and q-factor options, differ true spindle lenght. IT is chainring offset and crank arm design.
@@LoveMTB I'll have Both fc-m9100 and fc-m9120 in house in a few weeks. I'll compare and measure the spindles and chainrings. I really want to know how offset is done. I'll let you know the outcome! Thanks for the Nice reviews!
