Not sure about this one, looks a bit function over form to me, perhaps a little sympathetic embellishment might help. However, let’s not forget it’s your bike not mine.
Good job on the piece. You should send that off to TEC Bike Parts for some R&D money for making a piece that could go with their exhaust system. I’m sure they could do something for your work.
Good plan, but somehow as TEC develop their own parts, am sure design isn't the issue, it's more about keeping the price of the exhaust system kit down so it's affordable... but it's a good thought for sure!
Its a no from me, while I can appreciate the workmanship, I can never understand why anyone would move away from the "shot gun" style exhaust on the 1200 scrambler. Ok the stock one is a little muted, and lardy, but there are other options available and for me its part of the unique look of the 1200. Each to their own.
Sorry, but I don't like it. I think it would look much better If it look like an extension to the black one. To me, it looks too much like a homemade add-on. You do great custom work, so I think you can do better with this one. Keep up the good work.
This is the design flaw of the Triumph scramblers, heat from the pipes is overwhelming on a long journey, so theres no choice, a heat shield is a must unless you only do short rides, good job! I wonder if the pipes were split and on both sides if heat would have dissipated better, 🤷🏻♂️ just a thought
Good job, much better than original. I do like the silvery look, but would consider putting holes like the rest of the exhaust and mainfold after a good night's sleep. Anyway, it's easier to put holes in than to cover up unwanted holes afterwards ;-) Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
This is why I subscribe to your channel. If not making it look so easy, you at least give us DIY'ers the motivation and inspiration to truly do it ourselves. Great job, looks so much sleeker and nicer than the OEM heat shield.
Very nice and I do like it very much. However I would think it should look like the rest of them with the vents to make it all matching. Like what you have done before. But again looks very good. 👌
Del, you did some fine fab work, and the new heat shield looks great, but I LIKED the ugly stock number plate! If everybody got rid of all their ugly possessions, my mom would have tossed me in the bin on Day 1! Ugly objects need love too! :)
Very nice result buddy. Getting the tight radius on the edge is impressive. Your English wheel skills are really improving, not that I can judge with very limited experience. But I see you moving on and up! Peace and love to you both of ✌️❤️🤗
Thanks buddy👍, lots of fun practicing with the old school tools, and like all these things, every time it gets a bit easier.. Thank you as always for your loyal support bruv.. keep safe aye.. D&Pxx
Those rolled edges, fantastic! Great to see the maintaining of tin bending skills, for sure, wow. The new outline is also much more svelte and purposeful looking, than an odd shaped thing pretending to mimic a number plate.😎
You've hit the big time when an unpainted piece turns out flawless like that Del. Beautiful work and it looks right in place with the shield on the forward part of the exhaust. I'm guessing that fab work is one of your favorite parts of a build and the results really show it. Big thanks to you and Penny for all the time and effort you pour into these videos. Much appreciated my friends. God bless and stay safe. ❤👍👍
Thank you Rick, I think underpinning it all is the pride in having something on your bike that nobody else has and that you made with your own hands, and if it can be close to factory quality then, perhaps, that's an achievement... have a great week Sir, and stay in touch, D&Px
Looks a bit home made to me sorry. Just trying to work out why my head thinks that. Maybe a bit long at the end, maybe a bit too rectangular, maybe a bit plain next to the other shields with their intricate cutouts? Amazing shaping though and good idea, the stock one with the Tec pipes looks wrong.
Another great video brother ! such a great custom work 🤙 I remember when you first got the english wheel, now you know your way around it ! Came out awesome! keep up the great work brother! Stay safe guys cheers from New york !!! 🎉🎉🎉
Great video, Penny and Del. Really nice job on fabbing that beautiful piece. It looks much better than the stock part. Thanks so much for sharing! Take care, be well and ride safe!
@@Moonfleet41 sorry Del. The bike looked fine on the stand. It must have been camera distorting it or life distorting my mood maybe! Anyway my apologies for my misjudgment and no hard feelings I hope.
Wow I am quite impress. I have to admit you nailed it big this time. Your skill and design have improve dramatically. Keep up the excellent work. René from Québec Canada.
What a pleasure to see how you gained full control of the English wheel. And the choice not to make holes is an interesting and surprising choice, I think it turned out very cool.
Thank you Sir, am quite happy with it, if I get some time I may slot it with some mesh behind later on to match the front shield! Just wanted a quick solution for now.
A marked improvement on the stock one mate. I popped a paper bag on the wife's head today, also a marked improvement.... winner winner chicken dinner!!!!
Great video as always, love seeing your ideas, Big question is are we going to get anymore question times with Mr Dyson, not been one for a long time also anymore FRO vlogs used to love those rants :) Keep up the good work
You really know your way around that English Wheel, Del! If I had tried doing it, I think mine would have ended up looking more like another bedpan for the MIL. Hope you both are doing ok there! 🏍👍🏍
@@Moonfleet41 LOL- thanks a bunch, my friend! We’re trying to get her to stop using the hedges in the front garden… it scares the neighborhood children quite a bit, you know? 😎
What a fantastic improvement over the original, lovely bit of fabrication. Perhaps not as polished as some factory options but a really nice piece of personalised design.
Like it. I would have used aluminium… but good result. I need something similar for my mass exhaust. An extension, since I have burned my pants several times…
Now, let's Crack On! Proper Bad A$$ mod where ever you're running. Looks great. Take care and Ride Safe. ( American trying to sound British, sorry, Haha)

I am sorry but somethings should be left well alone.
Original exhaust and heat shield looked so much nicer, in my opinion.
But each to their own.👍
Once again, there's no need to apologise for your opinion, design is subjective after all !

Took the words out my mouth. Honestly nice job on the new one but I prefer the old.
2 into 2 options are really expensive though. A set of Zard's is around $1000-1500. The TEC 2-1 is around $220.
Sorry, but I don't like it. I think it would look much better If it look like an extension to the black one. To me, it looks too much like a homemade add-on. You do great custom work, so I think you can do better with this one. Keep up the good work.

That's a good thought, but I guess high level pipes are always on the one side only...
Good job, much better than original. I do like the silvery look, but would consider putting holes like the rest of the exhaust and mainfold after a good night's sleep. Anyway, it's easier to put holes in than to cover up unwanted holes afterwards ;-) Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
Put some holes in it to match those around it and you've nailed it. Good watch as always 👍
That’s look nice! I see a lot sheetmetall work, maybe a project with making your own carbon parts? The bike is 😎
This is why I subscribe to your channel. If not making it look so easy, you at least give us DIY'ers the motivation and inspiration to truly do it ourselves. Great job, looks so much sleeker and nicer than the OEM heat shield.

Looks brilliant Del. I like the way it matches in with the heat shield towards the front of the system. Superb job!!
Thanks mate..👍
Those rolled edges, fantastic! Great to see the maintaining of tin bending skills, for sure, wow. The new outline is also much more svelte and purposeful looking, than an odd shaped thing pretending to mimic a number plate.😎
Thank you so much 😀, it was a bit clumsy looking aye !
I love it the thing that stops me buying the same exhaust is it Makes ✌️👍the cover plate look weird
Nice! Now just machine some fancy HoneyComb patter holes in it and make it even cooler looking!

Nice work! Works much better along with the modified exhaust than the stock heat shield. 👍

Looks way better! what about a grill finish like the stock heat shield? i know it won't be easy but it could be the crown jewel.
Nice! Looks great! Thanks for the video.

Pretty neat interpretation. Like the minimalist approach. Looks more part of the bike rather than a glued on “universal fit” option. Congrats.

A lot better flow than the original. Good job 😎🍻

Great piece of fabrication, it looks great how it matches the front part and looks like it was there from the start👍
Thanks Mark 👍
Yeah, liking the look of that, good work !

ha ha.. i can knock you up a couple of you need them.. but maybe in 316 stainless, you know how corrosive it gets on the old MILs..!

I would by one
Nicely done sir! . . what's very English, somewhat vocal & has a new set of weals? - the edge of a freshly rolled thumb : )xx
Ha ha, you said that right.
Now, I’m in two minds weather it stays solid like it is, or have holes drilled in like the original one, I honestly can’t decide
