Hell with rock, the greatest blues band ever!
NO ONE can pull that off but LED ZEPPELIN!
The 28 min live version from MSG 1973 is the greatest performance the world has ever seen. Page required an exorcism after the show.
Definitely!
It is! It really is!
Best live performance!!!
So true, it is proof that Aliens exist. Jimmy is not from this world.
😂
1973, 1973, 1973, 1973.....do it!
I love live music and have been to hundreds of concerts over the years, but Zeppelin's studio recordings are masterpieces that are far superior to the live versions. The live cuts aren't bad, just very different and not as moving.
The middle section of this song is a rare example of a double "call and respons"e. Jimmy Page on guitar and Robert Plant on vocals play alternatively to each other, while in between John Paul Jones on bass and John Bonham on drums call and respond. Brilliant!
Yes, they were utter genius in the transitions from one incredible segment to the next, who else thinks up stuff like the trippy mid section, then blasts you to smithereens with one of Page's greatest guitar solos. Pure genius.
Hi from Phoenix Arizona, I love seeing your reactions to the GOAT! 66 yo old now and man I have loved this band from their first album to the last! I got to seem them live in 1975 as a 17 yo kid!
Peace and Love to you both!❤
You two make me smile. Thank you from the mountains of Pennsylvania, USA.
70s. They were a trip. A good one.
Thanks for more Led Zeppelin ❤
A woman can have 20 tracks in her top 5 if she wants. You’ve been married long enough to know this by now!
You my friend sound like you've suffered long enough 😂
One of the earliest songs in the Zep canon; Page wrote and performed it while he was still in the Yardbirds. You can see a rare Yardbirds live performance here: th-cam.com/video/uHWQtRjGHgo/w-d-xo.html BTW: The blistering guitar solo was similar to the one he used in another great Yardbirds rocker "Think About It". Worth checking it out and comparing the two.
Jimmy’s guitar solo in the studio version is pure perfection….I saw so many live performances by Led Zep at one point seeing six consecutive concerts in six days…at that point during the Kasmir tour they decided to eliminate this song from the set….bad move Jimmy…
Just magic! It never gets old.
The 73 MSG D&C guitar prowess shown is unequaled in the world of electric guitar.
Absolutely no one has ever come close to this.
Probably makes Clapton cry...as well as Petrucci, et al.
Edit: Carol...as Jimmy Page said to my cousin in Atlanta in '75, whilst his window was rolled down and she was being her hot self, "Shake it, baby!"
Over half a century old and still getting the same reaction from first time listeners.
Plant sings...Page is the guitarist! Zeppelin...the greatest ever!
7 minutes on the album.....30 minutes live. Jimmy is playing the guitar in the mid-section with a cello bow. The 1973 full version at MSG is perhaps the greatest rock guitar performance put to film.
You, Sir, are a teller of truth and are now my friend forever.
😅
But it’s no longer available on TH-cam, from what I’ve heard
Yes msg one!
@w.geoffreyitspaulding6588 it is it is on my channel...I don't upload but it is accessible

Cream and Hendrix were pushing the boundaries into hard rock, but I have always considered this the first heavy metal song.
It's hard rock, not heavy metal. And don't forget, Steppenwolf, they were also early pioneers of hard rock, with both, "Born To Be Wild", and, "Magic Carpet Ride", coming out before Led Zeppelin debuted on the scene.
I love so much that you love them! But, hey, how can you not? They are the greatest band ever. Ty for another awesome reaction to the Boys!
Led Zeppelin used this frequently in their live shows, and included within it parts of other songs in their catalogue (Achilles Last Stand) or even 'Be Sure to Wear Flowers in your Hair'. The live MSG version is truly epic - so many incredible transitions and phases - it's a trip.
Great idea doing both live and studio!
The quote under my older brothers yearbook picture was “Dazed and confused “ ❤ miss him!
You guys are fun to watch, great review!
This is how you react to an epic song. "GOOD VIBES ONLY"
Check out "Communication Breakdown" from the same album (Zep 1). Rocks even harder in half the time. Guitar solo will melt your mind.
Nothing like the classics, huh. Zeppelin taught everyone else how to play real music.
The stand out track on the best debut album EVER!!! Cheers
I still remember the excitement of buying each new Zeppelin album....and wearing it out on the turntable until the next one arrived at the record stores. 🤘😆🤘
Exactly!
There’s no shame in having 20 or so picks in your top 5 Zeppelin tunes, they definitely captivate. Whatever it is today, it is likely to be different tomorrow.
Spot on, 20 to 30 songs to squeeze into a top 5, beyond tough decisions. At least a top 20 might be feasible but the next 20 are just about as good. Greatness for 99% of their catalog.
Congrat's on over 100K subscribers by the way...ya'll deserve it. Just remember, Plant and Bonham were 20 years old when they recorded this record...simply incredible musicianship and talent
At 71 I still get the same thrill listening to Zeppelin tracks as I did over 50 years ago when I was fortunate enough to see them live a number of times. I am thrilled that you are discovering some great music from past decades, keep going.
The first time I saw them with Grand Funk Railroad as the opening act the tickets were $4.
Hopefully someone else will have pointed out that it is Robert Plant singing & Jimmy Page playing guitar.
Masterpiece of a song
It was a labor of love for Jimmy Page.
He started working on it while he was still with "The Yardbirds" when its title was "I'm Confused".
I absolutely LOVE watching you react to these great Zeppelin tracks. Dazed is an all time great. It’s just too good. How Many More Times is another great one from this album. Thanks!
Its so good watching you two listen to this and know that great music will live on.
CORRECT!!! ALWAYS STUDIO FIRST THAT IS WHAT WE ALL HEARDMAND WHAT IS LEGENDARY
Agreed!
Those of us you were teenagers & had all this genius, no computers, just pure talent& to see generation after generation discovering this, makes me so happy.
We were blessed ❤️🙏
Congrats on 100k
Starts off sounding like a rock funeral march , then explodes into a riot of energy. ...over the last half century, whenever I have needed to wake up and get motivated, this song(and the whole album actually) along with that second cup of coffee has done the trick. Watching you kids react and bounce around is a lot of fun....I reacted about the same way when I first heard it.
Oh Good Lord! Awesome.......
Jimmy Page used a cello bow on his Les Paul to make crying or wailing sounds with the guitar.
find video online 1973 dazed and confused MSG "30 MIN" Version!
This was the song that got me into Zeppelin in high school, when I was listening to modern alt rock (which I still do to be fair) … and I’m 24 lol.
It changed my understanding of how rock could be done and with Jimmy’s underrated guitar solo… it was a major reason for becoming a guitarist, knowing a band did this in 1969
Love seeing young Zep fan! I’m 77 and they are still my favorite band.
Great reaction by you both
I saw them do this at the Winterland in SF in ‘69! Their first US tour.
This is the only song of theirs I know where there are actually two sets of Call and response. The drum responding to the base. And of course, Robert Plant responding to Jimmy page’s guitar. But at the same time? Sheer genius.
You guys do it perfect. Studio then a good live performance.
These two are Hippies but born 60 years too late. Great reaction. And the song is magnificent with bonzo on fire
Magnificent Zeppelin
I highly recommend you guys checking out an a cappella group called “Pentatonix”. The original five members are Scott, Mitch, Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi. They originated on a show called “The Sing Off” and those performances should be on YT. They have grown SO MUCH in the last 12 years and are even more incredible now! All of their performances are phenomenal and I have a hard time telling you where to begin but a couple personal favorites are: 90s Dance Medley, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Sound of Silence
Great Pick, thanks to Andy enjoy the 60s, 70s, 80s..... I'm a 68 year old who is stuck in these years. Excellent Reactions and be happy this music is available still today. Be safe well healthy happy always, keep going within this realm. Try some Rolling Stones, The Who, Steppingwolf, Three Dog Night, Ten Years After, ELP (Emerson Lake & Palmer), ELO (Electric Light Orchestra).....etc.....
Awesome reaction!!,Please try “Fool in the Rain” & “Bring it on home”-Led Zepplin studlo,These are 2 undercover bangers!!
So happy you finally got to Dazed! I had requested it as well and love your reaction 😊… A highlight of their first album and a showpiece for them live… Robert‘s voice in late 68 when they recorded this was through the roof powerful. By the time you get to the 1973 live performance, you’ll note that he has a very different approach to it as does the whole band. They used the original recording as a starting point for them to really explore and improvise! and the Royal Albert Hall version from 1970 is right in the middle so you get to see how the band evolved especially with this great song!
Thank you
4:32
...and wow! Yes, you CAN DANCE!! 🎉 🙌👏🙌
Bass and Drums superb
It's always better to listen to the studio version first,,,,that way you have something to compare the live versions to. 👍👍👍 This song is just OUTSTANDING,,,,💥💥💥👍🤪
Plant was 19 when they recorded this!
Can't wait for you to do the LEMON 🍋SONG :)
Great reaction.
This is the only Zeppellin song that I prefer the studio version to rather than live.
Musical science does allow you to have 20 songs in your top 5.
Love it 😀 😍 ❤️
I have twenty in my top five too!
After all 3, check out the version From when Jimmy Page was in the Yardbirds in 1967. It is interesting to see how the song grew and changed over the years.
Zeppelin's 28-minute, 1973 Madison Square Garden version of DAZED AND CONFUSED is the greatest rock performance ever captured on film.
Don't just listen - watch it, all 28 minutes of it. Unbelievable.
"there are 20 in your top 5" correct👍
Thanks!
This is a request and a tip - the request is for ya'll to react to Yes "Roundabout" from the studio album "Fragile" - you probably have had some requests for this song from LZ fans...GUARANTEE that it will blow you away (better builds and transitions than almost ANY song you have reacted to thus far in your journey) - the tip part of this is for your decision to react to the over 29 minute version of "Dazed and Confused" - It is the best version live i've ever heard, i would have recommended it first, but it is so long just wasn't sure you could react to that INCREDIBLE performance...it's more organized with even better drumming...and the transitions are much better than Royal Albert Hall...only problem is i think the video will be from the movie..."The Song Remains the Same"...but their may be a video out there that is just the live performance...it's incredible either way; but the movie version will have scenes other than from the performance if that makes sense...thanks. You also could choose to just play the audio version from the live album "The Song Remains the Same"...Andy
What an Amazing original, the studio mix was never surpassed live but what they did live, in extended improvisation, evolved live into one of the all time, great epics by anyone. Do it at MSG 1973, the full 28 minute version is a sight to behold and hear in wonder. Simply the best, enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Do MADISON SQUARE GARDEN VERSION 1973
Thanks for doing the studio versions that made the bands famous, that we grew up listening to. TH-cam has just about eliminated studio recordings from reactions; I suppose you might be demonetized for this, but thanks
Oh man, I just had flashbacks to my stoner days
Ten Years Gone will be another of your top 20/5 😂
love me some Zep,thanks
Zeppelin rocks! Got to get into their disciples next... RUSH!
John "Bonzo" Bonham drumming switching times are insane!
She gets it.
This song sounds like complaining, but it really ends up being a kind of praise for the power and cunning that the woman can wield, perhaps indirectly but definitely according to her will -- and so often even in myhthology, the powers of the world of men are helpless putty in their hands. Echoes of Helen of Troy perhaps here... and it looked like you understood that right away.
Yes, live versions of this piece got so long with extended improvised section, that some of those sections would get lifted out and turn into tracks of their own. They were literally writing new songs on stage from the improv in this one. I believe both "Achilles Last Stand" and "Trampled Under Foot" were among the songs that evolved this way.
Great reaction, Elie and Carol!
Everybody goes thru breakups, but artists can make it sound better.
13 when introduced to Zep, Stairway to Heaven is the greatest Rand R song ever, but dazed and confused is the greatest song Zep ever did. Does that make sense? About as much sense as a "lead zeppelin"
What’s really amazing, they were only together as a band, about two months when the recorded this. The long live version is amazing, just saw a long live a reactor did earlier, May 24,1975 Earls Court.
Loved seeing Carol affirm where her soul came from! Lol
Still looking forward to your reaction to dire straights telegraph road. Do the alchemy live version it's awesome. Love your reactions.😊
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
Gotta do the version on The Song Remains The Same album. That's all I got.
"You have TWENTY in your Top Five! They have to be five" LMAO! Elie has a good point, haha. Yes, five, not twenty, lol, but yes, it's hard to stick to just a handful of Zep Faves!
Keep in mind that Robert Plant is only 19 years old on this song!
21
The live version with page on guitar and the violin bow is legendary
*cello
Please try " Life During Wartime "Live, by Talking Heads.
Always love you guys. More please. Dont forget Live Lara Fabian. Her most viwed videos. I promise youll be impressed. Adagio. Caruso. Broken Vow. Youre not from here. Quedate. And more. Until next time stay well and poppin for fresh
Awesome reaction guys! Love to see you reqct to the greatest band of all time..HOWEVER..you're making a HUGE mistake reacting to live versions first. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS react to the studio or album version first so you know what you're hearing when you listen to the live version.ESPECIALLY with Led Zeppelin. You absolutely MUST do a studio version reaction to KASHMIR & SINCE I'VE BEEN LOVING YOU. They are totally different than the live version and much better.I assure you they will both be in your top 5!
Ha YAY i did them backwards **LUVLuvLuv** THIS **Reaction** as well & yea sorry **Elie** but ALL guys lost their girls to **Robert Plant** cept for me ha i guess i am always the odd one out cuz when i 1st started listening to them when i was 8 yrs old i fell in **MadLuv** with **MyBeautifulJimmyPageMagicalGeniusWizardBabe** not **Plant** heh & once again this course put me in a most **Beautiful Trance** Thank YOU **Both** so very MUCH for your **LUV** & **Appreciation** of this MOST **OtherWorldy** **Genius** Band **MyBelovedLedZeppelin** YAY & for making my days **Brighter**
In da crib. 🙃
You need to create a separate channel for music, one for movies and another for comedy.
It will be beneficial to you.
You need to react to Madison Square Garden 1973.....
So overwhelmed that she thought Page was singing.
She didn't think that, she just said the wrong name by accident. They both said the wrong name.
Hahahaha you're right I just heard it 🙈🙈 it was by mistake lol
Jimmy Page was really stung out on drugs; during the live version….he was out of his head. Plant, and Bonham tried to reel him in! 🤷🏻♂️
you're hearing the "Blues"
Just do achilles last stand live 79 knebworth
