This is the first luxury diver I have ever actually taken diving. I’ve been rocking a scurfa diver one for years and before that I just wore a computer. Something absolutely beautiful about seeing this doing what it is capable of accomplishing even if just at 30 meters
I have the Pelagos ETA last gen model. I can assure you that there is nothing like it in the Tudor line. The micro adjustment bracelet. Titanium case. Ultra light feel. Premium finishing. Gun metal look. I was initially aiming to buy the BB diver range but after trying this on there was turning back afterwards. It is very under the radar and criminally underrated by those who want a watch that is loud, flashy and screams “Tudor”. You will also notice that the older ETA Pelagos models do not even have the word “Pelagos” on the dial! Almost as if it wasn’t needed :)
Finally a true dive watch. It's NOT a sports watch! If any reviewer or watch designer actually tried a so called dive watch as intended by diving with it they quickly spot the problems with them. This watch is Incredibly easy to read underwater especially at depth with low light or poor visibility. The snowflake hands makes it simple to see which hand is which. A spring loaded bracelet that adjusts as your wetsuit or drysuit compresses or expands depending upon your depth during your dive. So it never becomes loose and slips down over your gloves. Titanium case so it doesn't corrode in saltwater. The bezel is larger thsn the case so its easier to grip and turn with wet hands or gloves on. Remember that this process is done at the water surface right before you descend. It doesn't need a helium escarpment. It's there just to shout DIVE WATCH in case anyone was still confused
When Tudor created this watch they created a lot of "firsts" in the Tudor line-up. I may be wrong but first ceramic bezel, first lumed bezel, first 500 meter diver, first helium escape valve, first titanium case and bracelet, first micro-adjust clasp, and very close to the first in-house movement. That's a lot of firsts and many of these firsts were the first in the Rolex brand as well. I guess I'm saying that a lot of creativity went into the Pelagos which is unusual for the Rolex/Tudor brand. Most times they work on small evolutionary steps to get to a final Wow! With this watch they just jumped out of their corner swinging precise power punches left and right. Wish it would happen more often......
@@6stringocd424 not true, the pelagos was the first watch with a titanium case and bracelet from the rolex family, and the moving springs on the clasp were a first for both tudor and rolex as well. Also, the lumed bezel is a first if I'm not mistaken.
ivan kerr ...the Rolex Sea Dweller was first released in 1967 with a a rating of 610m , currently 1,220m, while the Deepsea has a rating of 3900m. So unless we focus on the technicality that 500 does not equal 3900, then this is nothing new for the Rolex family by any stretch. I’ll give it that it’s a first for Tudor but that’s one of those distinctions like: third man to set foot on the moon, on a Tuesday in August, on a leap year, while chewing gum...
I tried on the Pelagos at an AD but the blue did not resonate with me. It seemed too light and bright. I preferred the black dial. I also like the fact they make a left hand crown version.
Something the no one talks about is that the bracelet has more articulation than other oyster style bracelets. The 3 link brackets on Rolex, GS, Omega etc only pivot between the bottom of the middle link and the top of the outer links. The Pelagos pivots between all the links. Fits more like a jubilee than an oyster.
I'd love to see Tudor really back the Pelagos as a full range. My number one criticism of the Blackbay is that is a watch constantly looking backwards, always looking to what was. The Pelagos feels like its looking forward, looking to what could be. I think a Tudor with full, vibrant lines in the Blackbay and Pelagos, balancing each other, would actually be kind of exciting.
Loved the "new style" video. I don't know how many times a year you'll be able to do this given the midges and the length of the Scottish summer. I'm not sure I agree about there being few straps which are 22mm wide though. I've never found a problem sourcing straps for my watches which have a 22mm between lug dimension. Perhaps the Bark&Jack shop has, subconsciosly, specialised in straps for "petite" watches. Now if this watch had a 21mm between lug dimension you would have been absolutely correct. I'm not sure about the Pelagos. I am not a fan of the snowflake handset. I do agree that it is imperative to try a watch on, especially an expensive one I have found that the real life impression of a watch is much better than any online one and trying watches on has saved me from some expensive mistakes. Love the content and keep up the great work.
I have the LHD and simply love it. I have a few watched (love them all), but he Pelagos is special, because is a non compromises watch: it seems that was made for what it is supposed to do, not pretending to be any other thing (versatile). Very high quality and understated (which is something essential for me).
Have a 2-liner and love it. It wears thinner than the in-house movement. In general the Pelagos gets compared to the Sub or BB but I think it’s more of a SD4K competitor at a fraction of the price.
Great video! The pelagos is at its best in the LHD form, IMO. The red Pelagos on the dial draws attention away from the paragraph at 6 o clock, and pays homage to the sub. The roulette date wheel is a nice feature as well. Lume also has a tasteful tint to it. If you read the article on the LHD written by Wei Koh, I think most people would agree that it really is an amazing piece with technology that puts it well above its competitors.
I really like the look of this one and the 42mm is right up my alley. The 14+mm thickness is a big no from me, though. Not really sure why the BB line and the Pelagos line have to be so thick for minimal complications. That type of thickness is typically associated with a chronograph but this doesn't have anything more than time/date.
Love that my favourite watch TH-camrs are just now getting to the Pelagos, but also hoping it stays an underappreciated gem - otherwise I'll never be able to get one!
It's an awkward truth that all Rolex are luxury items even the ones that look functional. a BMW X5 and a Land Rover might look the same but picking one to go off road is easy.
Great review thought 3 yrs later the watch has gone up by circa £800. I bought one two months ago after not being able to get a RRP sea dweller and not wanting to keep asking my AD for updates and if I was going to be lucky enough. Great watch and I agree with your assessment totally.
Excellent video. Specs +personnal comments. The Pelagos probably the most interesting Tudor release of the past ten years. Not a new version of vintage watch but a modern reinterpretation of the Submariner. A step further. Very very interesting
This watch is the equivalent of having a girlfriend with no personality, that wears oversized, unflattering jeans and a plain white t shirt, that the only good thing going for her is that she is excellent at her job....boring, boring, boring!!
Finally! I’ve watched so many Pelagos reviews. But yours was the one I’ve waited for. I think you one told me you suspected it would be too sporty for you. But it looks great on you.
i feel like the charm of the pelagos is the size and the toughness. the usability of the bracelet and the great legibility! i can’t wait to get one for christmas. no way it’s too heavy, the titanium is perfect
Watch This! All of your points I agree with except I like titanium, but wish it was the brighter colored titanium like Grand Seiko uses on their Snowflake
Had the two-liner for a year. In my honest opinion, this is the best mechanical diver's watch ever made. How much you want to pay for a watch used in wet environment? Not 8-10k euros like Sub or SD, but enough for having and feeling a luxury item and it's reputation on your wrist. Technically the most advanced materials and techniques to date used in it. Very substantial, very Rolex like. Accurate as f... This thing is more sea-dwelling, than a Sea Dweller, feels more valid on a submarine, than a Submariner. Pelagos is all what Rolex knows about making a modern dive watch. From performance point of view this is the best thing Rolex manufactures right know. Sailing, surfing, swimming, padding, wedding, you name it. This thing will perform. Second favorite Rolex product ever, after the discontinued 40 mm SD4K. Nice review, nice watch, nice pictures! Thanks Adrian! Maybe some Breitling diver in the future? ;)
I went and tried this on yesterday and absolutely you are right. I really didn’t think it would suit me and I thought the BB58 blue would be much more my thing, and I was astonished at how well this wore. I love the robustness of the combination of ceramic and titanium, and the way it downplays any flashyness. If the AD had had a BB GMT for me to try alongside I may well have bought it, but I do want to try the GMT before I make a decision. But I have this odd feeling that I’ll end up with it, because it just felt ‘right’ for me the moment I tried it. Very odd, and not what I was expecting
@@rymcn5220 After much deliberating I bought a BB GMT. I travel a lot (every week), and the second time function highly appealed. I haven’t regretted my decision for a second, the GMT has been stunning in every respect including ridiculous accuracy (about a second a month). It is currently the most favourite thing I own. It exudes quality and is utterly solid and well engineered. I love all the details, snowflake hands, ceramic bearings for the clasp, precision of the bezel and sharpness of the hands and indexes. I expected the aluminium bezel to mark (a reason for preferring ceramic) but even though I’m so hard on the watch (it is a daily beater absolutely) it has shrugged off all scratches and marks. It still looks phenomenal, yet understated. I don’t feel self conscious wearing it, or at risk of mugging in some of the less salubrious places I go to. It has been worth every penny. Having said that I am also equally confident there is no bad decision: they are both awesome.
@@grahamsalmons2027 Great choice and you've certainly sold it to me. My grail watch is the Rolex Batgirl but until then, my plan is to buy a Tudor for my 30th birthday. I've done so much research and have gone done multiple rabbit holes. I've changed my mind countless times, but at the moment, my plan is to go with the 42mm Pelagos in black. I absolutely adore the tool nature of it... the matte finish, the clasp, the darker metal without being 'too' lightweight. I've also tried on the 39mm version which was stunning but I felt as though Tudor slightly bottled it by pulling back on the characteristics which originally made the Pelagos so good. On top of that, at around 110 grams in weight, it's lightness actually made it feel less expensive compared to stainless steel. No doubt I'll change my mind again once updated 41mm heritage Black Bays are released soon in all colourways.
@@rymcn5220 Completely agree with you in all aspects. Just an awesome watch. As much as I’m looking at the BB41 for something dressier there is every chance if I go to buy something the lure of the Pelagos will get me. I wish you much happy time with your watch. I’ll say one other thing: I travel all over the world. On several occasions in different places people have randomly said to me “class” and pointed at the watch. I’ve never had that reaction to a watch, and I love that the nature of the brand means that those in the know, know, and that it speaks something about ME. There’s no doubt it will do the same for you too.
Bought this beauty three weeks ago. Was very much like you, I thought of it more as a Deep Sea like size and would be too big. It wasn't at all and I have a thinner wrist. I just love it and the Titanium is just so warm and interesting and a great change from Steel. As to the Lume all I can say is beware of wearing it to bed. properly charged and you are wearing a night light to bed. Finally mine is running +2.5 seconds a day and thats real world on the wrist and night stand. At $4,500 USD it kicks the Blueberry's butt value wise and every other way. Wear this and no one will ever mistake you for a BB sheepel. Came back to tell Adrian, that he forgot or maybe he didn't. The watch comes with a very nice color matched rubber strap. Haven't used mine yet but looks to be of good quality.
I collect and wear Rolex sport watches, however thanks to your review I investigated the Tudor Pelagos and ended up purchasing all three models. I like all three for different reasons, especially when you consider all three cost about the same has my Deepsea. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching mate good work. The Pelagos is one hell of a watch. Especially compared to the price of the Rolex equivalents. I’m selling my no date sub because of the BB58. 👍🏻
@@BarkandJack Thank you for your reply, I am on the waiting list for a Rolex GMT Master 2, in mixed metal, however I have since your reviews been having a serious look at the BB GMT. I can't get my head around how much of a bargain it is. £2800 before discount, what a bargain. I have been offered a OMEGA PLANET OCEAN 600M CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER GMT 45.5MM Deep Black New for £6300 by my AD, I would appreciate your views.
Love my LHD Pelagos, bought it to alternate my GMTII. It has not left my wrist in 11 months and my GMT feels like my luxury watch now with all that's happening with Rolex prices. Was lucky to go dive late last year and realized the Pelagos feels right at home in the sea...superb visibility, great bezel action, versatile clasp, easy to wash off the saltwater, etc. Hands down the best tool watch I've owned.
If they made a version that had a 40mm case, 12-13mm thick, 20mm lug width and the spring adjustment clasp more hidden and discreet then I would buy one immediately!
I recently bought one as I loved the blue dial and the fact it was titanium. I am really enjoying it, as its not quite as heavy as a Rolex and very comfortable on the wrist. Great Lume as you mentioned.
Had mine a year now. Absolutely love it. So much so I don’t wear my other watches. Or when I do I end up swapping it out fast. Definitely ideal for a one watch collection. Great vid.
I own a first Gen Pelagos and when it came out I chose it over the black bay because I was not a fan of the homage look. This is truly the best watch in the Rolex/ Tudor catalogue.
This watch is the equivalent of having a girlfriend with no personality, that wears oversized, unflattering jeans and a plain white t shirt, that the only good thing going for her is that she is excellent at her job....boring, boring, boring!!
@@marcozuleta133 I completely agree with this hilarious take. I think though this watch with the exception of the movement is the best of the best in build quality and tech and unfortunately I cannot say that about even the newest Rolex.
@@themainspringer build quality you cannot go wrong with a Rolex, tech wise I think the Pelagos is an overpriced watch... I'll just get a Quartz Seiko instead or an Apple watch. Wrist watches tech is obsolete at this point and if I'm gonna spend money on technology I rather get the best of the best.
I recently purchased this watch in large part because of this review. I've tried it on several times at AD's but you can't tell that much in just a few minutes. It is a great watch and I am very pleased with it. Fits my lifestyle much better than a SMP or PO. However, the spring loaded clasp does not work for daily wear or non diving applications. You can read about this in other watch forums but I'd much rather see a larger range of fixed point micro adjustments. There are enough fixed points for me to accommodate fluctuations between hot and cold but the tension of the spring load is too tight for it to be used on a regular basis. I believe there is no half link option for this bracelet. Fortunately for me by adding an additional link I can stay out of the spring loaded section of the clasp. I have an 8.5" wrist so the case size and thickness for me are just fine. Great Review
Long story long re the blue Pelagos: I fell in love with the ETA Pelagos, but by the time I got around buying one, I ended up with the LHD because I got a good deal on it. Wore it on a trip with my gf to Japan (remember when we used to be able to travel?) and tried lifting a “Chikara Ishi” (Google it) and messed up the bracelet. I didn’t really like the fauxtina so I trade it in. Several watches later, an ETA Pelagos came up and I bought it. I love the clean 2-liner dial but it does feel a bit sterile and the less than 2 days power reserve never really sat well with me (I rotate through a 5 watch collection and don’t believe in a watch winder), so I sold it. Then, two weeks ago, my regular watch dealer has a blue Pelagos and I sprung for it. He gave it to me for really really cheap because he told me the lume came off on some of the markings (known issue on this watch), I did some research and found out that if you go to the RSC with a Pelagos with papers and in otherwise good condition, BUT the lume is falling out, 7-8 times out of ten, they will replace the faulty bezel. That’s what I did and now I am the proud owner of a blue Pelagos that has a brand new bezel and serviced free of charge. I think the blue version of the Pelagos is finally a keeper. Blue on a Tudor + snow flake hands and indices give this watch just the right mix of heritage and modernity :)
Those two days for the intro were absolutely worth it ;-) Great review, once again! thanks a lot, Adrian. The Pelagos has been on my shortlist for a while. Absolutely love how the date window integrates and almost disappears into the dial.
You have to try it on! I was looking at a few other watches and asked to try this just because I never had. Almost walked out with it today and lost interest instantly in some of the others that were on my list. It. is. AWESOME
Just started following you. I like your style, relaxed an unpretentious. After looking around for a year or so I just bought myself a Pelagos in black for my 40th. I absolutely love it and is the prefect size for me, the BB58 is too small, so I need a ~42mm. One thing I love is the matte finish, a reason why I didn't go for Omega. To me this watch is an 'understated elegant tool watch'. Next will be the Yacht-master in black, again 42mm, just a shame the bank balance doesn't support the price tag.
Tbh when I saw pictures it did bother me, but the watch in person is just so beautiful. Everything works really well, and the text doesn't bother at all. I fell in love with the blue version, it just works so well!
The 5 lines is a little odd, but really didn't stand out as a negative for me. Similar to the fake pip on the triangle on the bezel. It's odd, but nothing bad.
Funniest description I ever read was about it was “the Pelagos looks like a poker chip with a paragraph of nonsense on it” can’t disagree but I still love this watch and I’ll probably own one, once I figure out where it should fit in my collection alongside my Submariner and Black Bay 58 🤷🏻♂️
@@steelstunners1862 lol hint it doesn't fit but that's fine. I have five Breitlings in my collection. They don't fit either but I like them all. You like Tudor so go for it.
I totally agree with you about trying this on when looking for a diver. I’ve spent the last few weeks trying different brands and models. A couple really stood out until I tried on the Pelagos. Game over- bought the black one on Thursday. Love it.
The blue Tudor Pelagos has been in the number 1 position of my Next Watch candidates since before Covid-19. And unless I get "the call" from Harrods for their Tudor Heritage Black Bay Special Edition in the next month or so, it'll be on my wrist by October. Great review Adrian. Just one word, I really admire the integrity of what you're doing on your channel. I would imagine the temptation to "whore yourself out" must've been very strong at times, especially with a family. Kudos to you for staying the course. It's not lost on me as a fan & subscriber. Given you're at 100K subscribers with a bullet, it's not lost on anyone else either. Please keep up the good work.
Same here.... when you think about it though, the Pelagos was conceived as a brutalist modern tool watch not a vintage inspired piece like the black bay - so the faux patina on the lhd just undermines the ethos of the watch. I can’t deny it doesn’t look good though 🤷🏻♂️
I purchased the Tudor pelagos a month ago. my first nice watch. love the look , love the color , love the bracelet , & and you said it the Lum - lasts all night. I didn't really know Tudor. after researching - i made the buy. I like the dial - . I think I made a good buy. its my daily wear. thanks B&J. stay safe. ~ JDS/CT
I totally agree about the lug width ... Had they gone with 20mm, it would have likely resulted in a slightly shorter L2L too because they would twist or curve the lugs a bit more I'm sure. At 50mm L2L, that's at the very top range of what I'm comfortable with - 48mm is really the sweet spot IMO.
The sub was never a true dive watch. The Tudor actually is. I will explain why. Its titanium that doesn't react with saltwater. The bracelet expands and contracts with your wetsuit as the water pressure changes during the dive. Genius! The bezel is larger than the case so you can easily adjust it at the water surface with gloves on before your dive.
My favourite Tudor after the North Flag (if only that had normal lugs!).. Tempted, but think the new SMP will be my next purchase. Excellent video, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
The date is a tool purpose though…Watches without dates are more aesthetic and less tool like. To be a tool watch it must aide the user, not hinder them, which a date does
@@HOBBL3 A tool watch has a primary function by definition, a dive watch's primary function is not to tell the date at 3,000 feet below the ocean's surface
Such a great video .... Informed .. feeling and expressive. I own a Tudor Pelagos for a few months now and your description of it and how it makes you feel is spot on.. it has helped me feel more deeply about why I bought this watch. After many months of thought I felt this was the watch and when I made an appointment with the AD and saw it I knew it was the ONE. Incredible beauty and a clear crisp look made me feel ....well.... big smile ... teeth showing ... grin of satisfaction ... Again you described it perfectly....giving me even more clarity of how it makes me feel when I look at it.... and to all that are considering the watch ... please take the time to see it and touch it.... Oh and bye the way ... what purple hew...?? I have never seen that... maybe its the Scottish air...!!! Cheers from Canada ..Andy
😂 I don't see the purple either but then I'm color blind so I'll cut him a break. What I do notice is the blue of the bezel and dial are off a half shade. But it still works great.

japanwatchconnection On the contrary I feel sad that window lickers like you are allowed access to the internet to post your mindless brain farts. You really should be drooling in a padded cell somewhere.
Is the 22mm width of lugs actually annoying? It looks kind of right for the size of watch. It seems like it's 'annoying' because it doesn't fit one of your straps... Love your videos but maybe save the promo of your brand for outside of the review. Otherwise it just seems like you pick a hole in it just to bring up the subject.
I finally got to try one on today and I’ve never had the experience of locking the clasp and immediately feeling connected with a watch. It just wears so nicely on my wrist.
Glad you're a fan. Love my Pelagos LHD and all your concerns before trying it in person are the same ones I had, but such a different experience wearing it. Incredible tool watch, and maybe a bit more versatile now that we're all super casual WFH.
This video is what pushed me over the edge in terms of buying a Pelagos. And I couldn't be happier. Thank you for making this video! Your observations are spot on: it IS chunky...but, on this watch, especially because it's titanium, it doesn't FEEL that chunky. And it does wear smaller than the 42 mm size on paper suggests. Finally, the ACCURACY is incredible. After 11 days of wear, and 20 measurements, the watch is losing 1.2 seconds per day, and it is amazingly consistent. My prior watches (much older Seamasters) were not COSC certified, so to have this level of accuracy feels like magic. And that also means that - at least so far - the movement is actually more than TWICE as accurate as the COSC standard. Keep doing what you do, Adrian. Your reviews are outstanding...

When the MT5612 was announced I ran to buy the original 25500TN with the ETA 2824-2. While I have no inherent issue with "in-house", to me the SPIRIT of Tudor was always a Rolex case, dial, hands, quality, etc. with an "off the shelf" movement. That's what the "two-liner" represents. It's also 1 mm thinner. Mine has always run within 1 s/d and I'm guessing I'll have an easier time on the wallet when servicing day comes around.
Another honest, informed, and intelligent review. One essential requirement: Adrian is NOT a douche bag. I like the new format. Beautifully shot and shows the subject "in situ". I might recommend considering the corollary to this review: what are some watches that look amazing in photos but somehow fall short in person?
The function over form is the strength. The same formula which made the early Porsche 911 so successful and in such high demand today. The same reason the first Macintosh computer was so loved. Simplicity. Today, Apple has lost their way with too many settings and so complicated nothing really works with Apple programming. Glitches everywhere. So we recognize this… and we love it.
Can't go wrong with the current Seamaster. It is quite literally the perfect watch. I say save your Submariner money and buy Seamaster and a Black Bay, whatever money you have left over can go towards a decent third or some nice straps.
I can respect the Seamaster from technical perspective and cannot deny the value proposition. Even the laser etched dial I think it beautiful. I really tried hard to like it but I can’t get over those skeleton hands and kitsch ornamental bracelet. The design feels so dated.
@@steelstunners1862 Good point. Although I disagree about the hands (I love the "Bond" skeleton hands), the bracelet definitely has an outdated feel to it. I wear mine on the rubber strap which definitely makes it feel more modern than the bracelet would. Though I did not like the bracelet at all at first, it has grown on me and I like the unique nature of it compared to other stainless steel sport watch bracelets. Hopefully they update it soon.
Great video Adrian! I purchased a Pelagos LHD 3 months ago (wearing on my left wrist) after watching numerous reviews including Tim Mosso's. It doesn't disappoint in any way and as you say, doesn't wear as a typical 42mm. I have 7inch wrists, so it wears well and with a tropical strap gives it pops even more. Nice daily to compliment my Air-king date 5700 for formal wear - would be great to see some more vintage Rolex content on your channel. Keep up the great work!
@@Sandouras It's mostly to do with hardness and scratch resistance. By no means the end of the world but most luxury titanium watches opt for grade 5, although that is also because unlike grade 2 grade 5 can be polished.

No other watch in it's price range and dare I say it, even above compares! Great cinematography and I'm looking forward to the comparison of the Black Bay 👍🏽 please use the new 58 so the colours are similar.
This time I'm 100% agee Adrian, this is a great value watch, plus you got the rubber band include in the box, don't forget and decent rubber band for Rolex may cost around 100/120£ like Everest for example... This watch is Incredibly easy to read underwater especially at depth with low light or poor visibility. The snowflake hands makes it simple to see which hand is which. These “firsts” did not require any creativity, as this stuff has existed for some time outside Rolex/Tudor.
@@6stringocd424 not true, the pelagos was the first watch with a titanium case and bracelet from the rolex family, and the moving springs on the clasp were a first for both tudor and rolex as well. Also, the lumed bezel is a first if I'm not mistaken.

Love mine, I ended up selling everything else and having it as a one watch collection.
I got to the same conclusion with my Black Bay 58, more suitable to my slender wrist.
Mikey Flewitt Me too! Sold my whole collection over the past two months and only kept the Pelagos.
I tried on the Pelagos at an AD but the blue did not resonate with me. It seemed too light and bright. I preferred the black dial. I also like the fact they make a left hand crown version.
I could see that happening. This is a very nice watch.
I'll never understand a one watch "collection".
Thanks for sharing. Did not know this and hope to see someone pointing this out in a video review
I just love the overall blueness of it. It's matte. It's calming.
I've been watching you for years, and the level of editing your videos have now is night and day from when you first started! Keep it up!!
Tudor are stepping up into Rolex's place in the market. Buy these watches while they're still affordable!
Been wearing the ETA black for 6+ years. Best tool watch I’ve owned, best modern tool watch period.
22mm is a pretty damn common strap width. I've never once heard someone complain about 22mm straps. Pretty universal.
Agreed. Adrian - if you are not doing 22mm then you are surely missing out on a lot of potential Seiko business...
Just wait until he realizes the Tudor Bronze uses a 23mm strap. Your options are Barton and custom.
Love that my favourite watch TH-camrs are just now getting to the Pelagos, but also hoping it stays an underappreciated gem - otherwise I'll never be able to get one!
Been weighing up the LHD version for a while but a Pelagos is my next purchase for sure.
Its quirkiness makes it more interesting
This was the most enjoyable watch rundown I’ve seen. Going to purchase the Pelagos early 2021 I think.
Just got mine in the mail few days ago. No regret at all. Chose the black dial as it’s more versatile in my opinion.
@@gauravg789 congratulations! Welcome to the club!
This is what the Sub used to be, before it became a luxury milestone.
Listen here boy, Feel the same my Tudor GMT. It’s perfect travel, casual, swimming tool, whereas Rolex GMT is more for the yacht club than the beach.
It's an awkward truth that all Rolex are luxury items even the ones that look functional. a BMW X5 and a Land Rover might look the same but picking one to go off road is easy.
Tired of rolex
@@jukebox1794 Sub is expensive, but is not really luxury, just like Louis Vuitton compared to Hermès :-)
@@andychang7137 yup, very tired of rolex
I purchased a new Pelagos in black 5 months ago. I love it.
Love it. Opted for the LHD instead whilst waiting for the BB Harrods. So glad I did. My favorite.
really like the look of the LHD version
That red date, I love it!
Rarer than 🦄 💩 in these parts.
Great review thought 3 yrs later the watch has gone up by circa £800. I bought one two months ago after not being able to get a RRP sea dweller and not wanting to keep asking my AD for updates and if I was going to be lucky enough. Great watch and I agree with your assessment totally.
This was probably the best intro I have seen on 'watch' TH-cam!
Thanks so much Harry. It took ages to edit so I’m glad you appreciate it. 🙌🏻
Totally agree, that intro was like a hollywood edit, great job Adrian!
Bark and Jack, what is the song in the intro? It’s epic!
Hot DAMN that cinematography, Adrian!! The best watch channel out there!
Finally! I’ve watched so many Pelagos reviews. But yours was the one I’ve waited for. I think you one told me you suspected it would be too sporty for you. But it looks great on you.
Hey Ben, thanks for watching mate. Hope you’re well.
I absolutely love the Pelagos... I wish they would do a smaller version, like how Tudor did for the Black Bay with the BB58.
Shipmate feel it would lose some of its rugged charm
i feel like the charm of the pelagos is the size and the toughness. the usability of the bracelet and the great legibility! i can’t wait to get one for christmas. no way it’s too heavy, the titanium is perfect
I am kind of of the same opinion, however, Adrian has a smallish wrist and it looks great on him.
A women version ?
@grahamsalmons2027 what did you go for in the end?
Wearing the pelagos is such a different experience than other divers. I absolutely love mine
I love how you go outside too.
The blue Pelagos is my weekends and summer holidays companion. Cool looking, built like a tank, reliable, it screams fun and adventure!
This one is new to me. The blue face and titanium work. Good video.
I was lucky enough to pick up the LHD version of this and its such an under-rated model. Great Video Adrian :)
@Fela George couldn't agree with you more. @barkandjack if you can get your hands on one, would totally recommend
Prolly one of the most comperhensive review of the pelagos. Awesome!
If they made a version that had a 40mm case, 12-13mm thick, 20mm lug width and the spring adjustment clasp more hidden and discreet then I would buy one immediately!
If and if and if and if
I've had my Blue Pelagos about 18 months. It gets a lot of wrist time👍🏻
I recently bought one as I loved the blue dial and the fact it was titanium. I am really enjoying it, as its not quite as heavy as a Rolex and very comfortable on the wrist. Great Lume as you mentioned.
I absolutely love mine. I’ve had it for about a month and I still smile when I look at it.
The 5 lines of text at 6 o'clock is outlandish. 2 or 3 lines should suffice (like the original ETA version). Other than that, I love the Pelagos.

I own a first Gen Pelagos and when it came out I chose it over the black bay because I was not a fan of the homage look. This is truly the best watch in the Rolex/ Tudor catalogue.

Those two days for the intro were absolutely worth it ;-)
Great review, once again! thanks a lot, Adrian.
The Pelagos has been on my shortlist for a while. Absolutely love how the date window integrates and almost disappears into the dial.
One of my favourite watched especially the LHD model
You have to try it on! I was looking at a few other watches and asked to try this just because I never had. Almost walked out with it today and lost interest instantly in some of the others that were on my list. It. is. AWESOME
Oh! production value and camera skills just went up a notch.
Thanks so much mate and congrats on your Pelagos. Since doing this video I keep thinking about one. I will get one some day. 👍🏻
My grail watch, i am surprised you didn't mention the 5 lines of text as a gripe doesn't bother me but regularly gets bought up..
How long have you been on 'the list' just out of interest? Was going to go down and join the list in these next few weeks
Probably the best watch channel around, honest, well articulated reasoning, and good taste. Need to buy one of these one day. Subbed.
I really liked the Pelagos when I tried all 3 on. I preferred the colouring of the LHD but I couldn't cope with the crown being on the wrong side 😟
Same here.... when you think about it though, the Pelagos was conceived as a brutalist modern tool watch not a vintage inspired piece like the black bay - so the faux patina on the lhd just undermines the ethos of the watch. I can’t deny it doesn’t look good though 🤷🏻♂️
Well the left hand drive is for lefties the fact that people wear it on the left wrist then say it's odd make me wonder what they were expecting.

The 214270 is a lovely watch, however unfortunately a little too small for my wrist.
@@leifdehio2151 sometimes i feel that way, after getting rid of my LHD for it, i have been contemplating the blue now lol
The Tudor Pelagos is where the Rolex Sub was in the 60’s!
How do you mean?
I think he means price, status and what it was used for. The Rolex was a no nonsense tool watch
@@vinchel118 Ah, I see. Though a Sub in the 60's was about $1000 in today's dollars. This is over $3000
The sub was never a true dive watch.
@@stephens2r338 I'm sorry, the Submariner was never a true dive watch? Can't say I agree with you.
My favourite Tudor after the North Flag (if only that had normal lugs!).. Tempted, but think the new SMP will be my next purchase. Excellent video, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
I've always thought a date complication undermines the 'tool-ness' of supposed tool watches, this included.
The date is a tool purpose though…Watches without dates are more aesthetic and less tool like. To be a tool watch it must aide the user, not hinder them, which a date does
@@HOBBL3 A tool watch has a primary function by definition, a dive watch's primary function is not to tell the date at 3,000 feet below the ocean's surface

japanwatchconnection On the contrary I feel sad that window lickers like you are allowed access to the internet to post your mindless brain farts.
Its totally tool focused. But the Black Bay is sexier.
Glad you're a fan. Love my Pelagos LHD and all your concerns before trying it in person are the same ones I had, but such a different experience wearing it. Incredible tool watch, and maybe a bit more versatile now that we're all super casual WFH.
I get my black one in November but everytime I walk past an AD the LHD looks so damn good... I might that one too 😂!
North Flag......total Tudor Tool Watch

@@bobbyjoebbq3657 Exactly, perfect. Totally suits the 41mm case of the Ranger!
What’s the intro music ?
It’s called Come 2gether by Ooyy from Epidemic Sounds.
Another honest, informed, and intelligent review. One essential requirement: Adrian is NOT a douche bag. I like the new format. Beautifully shot and shows the subject "in situ". I might recommend considering the corollary to this review: what are some watches that look amazing in photos but somehow fall short in person?
Came back to your channel after a couple of month. You have really improved your game. Keep up the good work. ;-)
Thanks so much buddy. 🙌🏻
Feels like a cool watch to dress up with eventhough many claiming this watch not dressy enough
If I ever find myself back in Scotland I'll be sure to take the high road to Loch Lomond.
Its a great watch, great price, but compared to an Omega Seamaster...
Seamaster for pose, Pelagos for pro’s
@@stagglee Have you compared the bezel action between the Pelagos and Seamaster? 🤔
`The only real disappointment of this watch is that they cheaped out and used grade 2 titanium instead of grade 5. Still an awesome watch regardless.
@@Sandouras It's mostly to do with hardness and scratch resistance. By no means the end of the world but most luxury titanium watches opt for grade 5, although that is also because unlike grade 2 grade 5 can be polished.
The LHD is my work beater.... absolutely love it......it just looks better with every scratch.
is it just me or does it seem like alot of youtubers people are "discovering" the Pelagos?
I want this watch so badly. I tried it on last week at an AD and I fell in love with it.
I have the same watch love it. Will be a future classic im sure prices will go up in the next few years. Worth getting one now will the prices are still reasonable.
Taking delivery of mine in black come November and I cannot wait. After trying every Tudor on and comparing it to a Breitling Superocean... No other watch in it's price range and dare I say it, even above compares!
Great cinematography and I'm looking forward to the comparison of the Black Bay 👍🏽 please use the new 58 so the colours are similar.
You can’t have too many bezelled watches ....tell them you’ll keep it 🤣
This time I'm 100% agee Adrian, this is a great value watch, plus you got the rubber band include in the box, don't forget and decent rubber band for Rolex may cost around 100/120£ like Everest for example...
By the way, what about you don't start to think about commercialising your own version???
Anyway, I love the Pelagos, and don't forget as a part of your H.W. Story Rolex at the beginning just certified few of the pieces as Tudor right now, one of the most unvalued Tudor watches in the collection.
Thanks for your reviews.

Production value seems to have skyrocketed with that intro
