Michael Madsen used to get on the Opie and Anthony show, the man was a riot, all you get with him is brutal honesty, none of that hollywood BS. Seems like a good man.
Ha, that’s exactly what I was about to comment…one of the very few REAL men in Hollywood
M M was a riot, whether he meant to be or not. he had a near 24/7 squint that was all his own, I think. I'm getting up there in age, and a quote by him in the re-make of 'the Getaway' always sticks w/ me. one of the Tilly girls was coming on to him, saying "we can be friends". MM: "it's been my experience that having friends is overated." and she comes off as a true bombshell in this scene. 'cause she is, and she can act. that line, I don't think is in the original. only saw it 100 times, I'd say.
@@tonym994hard day at the office for Mr Madsen doing them motel scenes with Miss Tilly . Lol 😂
i remember when he roasted kevin costner i lost it roaring
I remember they'd list off his movies and he would give the exact financial reason why he did the movie, divorce, house payment, etc.
Michael Madsen is one of those guys who's just naturally cool.
He cut a guy’s ear off to music!
@yaakw And did a super cool shuffle in the process 🤣
Is he?
He reminds me of Kurt Russell in the sense that while they both certainly take their craft serious, they also don't take it TOO serious. They don't mind being goofy if that's what the character calls for. They both show that in 'The Hateful Eight.'
HAHAHAHAH....cool? Madsen is a poster child for worst actor.....lolololol!!!
His Performance in Kill Bill is unbelievably good. I love him in that.
“In El Paso a Hatori has a price, $500”
Cannot wait for the new 4k transfer for the Kill Bill films myself
The way Micheal met Al was similar to that goodfellas scene where Deniro character James Conway tells Lorraine character Karen Hill “Go head, it’s right in there “ Dude was getting flashbacks. 😂
In my opinion Madsen's best was Species 1,2 and Reservoir Dogs.
It was probably Pacino's way to assess their chemistry without having to force Madsen to a reading that he didn't want to do. BRILLIANT.
The fighting thong?
Al, he won't read. Set up a meeting. He comes to me, alone.
@@Dashoost hahah genius
Chemistry don’t you mean chemotherapy
I was lucky enough to have met Michael Madsen a few years back in London. One of the kindest and most humble men you’ll meet.
Which is crazy because of how intimidating he is on film. I would be terrified to talk to him lol
Met him at a convention years ago. The man couldn’t have been cooler. Very personable.
Mr blonde was one of the best villains ever on camera
"Well, I don't know why I came here tonight, I got a feelin' that somethin' ain't right..."
I would hate to be stuck in the middle with him!.😂
That and Madsens character in The Getaway. Banging Tilly's character while her husband listens and peeks from the bathroom. When Madden character spots him he called him a pervert lol😂
@@Tony-h7b4p Great song, great scene, great dance !!! 😅
And one to becoming Vincent Van Gogh...
Iconic !! Agreed
Hey Madsen! Served in the same unit as your son and had some mutual friends. RIP and I’m sorry this happened to you and your family. Was a good guy!
Such an underrated actor. He’s also a great guy. Calls it as it is
and there it is
Michael Madsen can play a terrifying bad guy when the role calls for it
Exactly! And that’s why he should have played Tommy DeSimone in Good Fellas! (Besides looking almost exactly like him! DeSimone was tall, curly hair etc.
He is like a Mickey Rourke....Great actor that should have gotten more roles.
Mickey Rourke’s biggest obstacle was Mickey Rourke. He could’ve had the keys to the kingdom, but he blew it.
Rourke...Madsen. And Johnny...really Actors
WHO deserved Oscars...and not be so underrated
And Keitel ..of course.
Instead...many young " Avengers" get the Oscar😂😂
Rourke eclipsed de Niro in Angel...
That.s why never worked with de Niro again
THEN STAY OFF THE GROG
@@stormbringercoming8105I agree. I hoped he would really hang on after The Wrestler, but he's gone... Totally lost. I saw something recently that he said to a director: if I'm in a scene, my dog is in the scene.
So, he f#cked up once more... I love a star that says it like it is, but he's using insults now to stay relevant. Such a master actor. Studied with Lee Strasberg for X- sake!! Such a waste. 😢
I always liked Michael Madsen, he always seemed like a tough Elvis.
Love how down to earth he is, everyone else is taking themselves seriously wrapped in a Hollywood bubble
i think Al appreciated and liked that Michael somewhat stood his ground meeting him and felt that "okay i like this guy" and told the producers or whoever that he wanted Michael in the movie which was a brilliant move because Michael is fantastic in the film
Al was most definitely in character, with the whole “staring out the window” thing.🤣 Reminds of “The Devil’s Advocate”
The way Al made Michael read anyway ,was brilliant 🫡
Michael Madsen, one of the greatest actors Period
Mike Madsen does not take crap from anyone. Punching a dude out in The Viper Room and busting a toilet was hilarious the way he told the story.
Michael Madson is one of my favorite actors. I loved him MANY of his movies. Donnie Brosco, Reservoir Dogs, Species, Beyond the Law, and many, many others.
Don’t lie … you know his role in Free Willy was your favorite
Hahaha the way he described meeting Al Pacino is just great. As if you were there with him 😂
Good for Michael for rejecting Hollywood bullshit.
when he said "I'd like to express a little truth here, if y' don't mind." I said "Hallelulah!! it's about time someone did.".
I respected him before, now even more. Would love to chat with him.
What do you know about the "Hollywood Bullshit"?
Madsen is a great actor, he's always been so good in his film roles, Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Brasco, Kill Bill, The Hateful Eight, only wish he'd been in Pulp Fiction as well.
It takes place in the same world as Reservoir Dogs, Vince Vega played by Travolta is Mr White aka Vic Vega’s brother. It wouldn’t have made sense to have Madsen in it because his character was already dead.
Such a wild industry, I don’t know how actors keep it together with all that weirdness.
I literally laughed out loud when he said yeah. And I like Depp.
depp was good when he was young and hungry. he's been phoning it in for 25 years.
Years ago my brother got be a stand-in for Michael Madsen during a movie shoot. He said he was a great guy. Friendly, no airs about him.
I cant get enough of these back stories.
Micheal has great screen presence. Only just heard about his son and his families struggles. Wish him and his family all the best. Bless him.
"Bruno Kirby pouring Johnny's cheerios." 😆 WTH
They were in character?..."naw,,they were just hanging out". 😅
Steven, you are the true winner of the Bald"win" family. Madsen is legendary. Great interview.
Ok, well, Michael Mann was clearly impressed by Johnny Depp. You remember a little film called Public Enemies. Depp played John Dillinger. And he did a hell of a job! In my opinion. Johnny is a great actor in a lot of movies. Love Michael Madsen’s work as well.
In Public Enemies Depp was even blander.
Madsen is one of my all time favorite actors
Always been a Fan of Michael Madison and Stephen Baldwin.
I find balwin a little annoying
@@wwbuirkle just a little
@@wwbuirkle compared to the other ones?? He's last place in that dept.
Love the way Steven Baldwin steered the conversation. Made an ordinary conversation special.
All these amazing actors got old but they never stopped being cool AF.
Just a great interview. Michael Madsen is a real guy.
Shitting on johnny depp is crazy one of the greatest actors of his generation
It's even not worth of mentioning that he can play anyone and all I ever saw this guy playing is more or less the same role, over and over again. It suited him well and maybe he just didn't want to "sell his soul", but it's obvious that there is some jealousy there. Johny was literally the same humble guy from the beginning. You can't expect from such a talented person not to appear weird sometimes to other people. I don't worship celebrities Johny isn't so loved by so many people without reason. This was everything but cool thing to do or say.
I freaking LOVE Madsen. Bros such a great actor. His voice is so gangster. Really wanna hear him on Rick and Morty or Invincible or something. That voice is so cool.
As Michael Madsen ages, I think he's starting to channel Robert Loggia's voice
8 f*ckin hours later
Elvira! You want Elvira! Tony Mira!
Good thing for me then that your book don't mean oogats to me!!!
To many smokes.
Every time my hair that song “Stuck in the Middle With You” I think of this man because of how memorable his performance was
I met Michael. A wonderful man.
One of my best friends who's no longer with us said he was at a bar downtown and sat next to Michael Madsen. He says that it was fine but he just kept calling him Sonny black and Michael was getting annoyed.
😂😂
Really shows the intelligence or lack thereof of certain people who can't separate actors from characters and even actors characters from other characters.
@tonypine3434 I agree but giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was drunk or maybe he was doing it to be annoying. Certainly not condoning it either way but if you hang out at bars, you're not meeting the highest quality of human beings.
He had made sense next to him for potential greatest night ever and anecdote for life and that what he got? YA BLEW IT
Uhh, who the f wouldnt
Stephen Baldwin is one of the nicest, most generous celebrities I've ever met. Madsen rules, too.
Johnny Depp is fantastic in Donnie Brasco! Al too!👍👍
Yeah, agreed. I mean, he's more impressive in Donnie Brasco than Michael Madsen was!
What are you talking about? lol he's awful there. Almost ruined the movie. Madsen is brilliant as always. Pacino was the best.
@@ohadavni Madsen wasn't "brilliant", he was the same as he always is. He's a solid actor who always plays a type. Love him, but you don't hire Madsen to craft a character, you hire him to be Madsen. Contrast that with 90s Depp did Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, Fear And Loathing, those are all very different characters. I'm an Italian-American New Yorker, I was around during the 70s, Depp aced that part. Certainly better than Michael Madsen ever would have!
@@TTM9691 100% agree!
@@TTM9691Well, I beg to differ. It isn’t much of a stretch when one is covered in 10 lbs of makeup like Depp usually is.
I can’t get over him saying I don’t wanna hurt Willie or kids😂

mmmm no, he's not. He is a terrific actor but he was very bad in this movie.

Brilliant interview. People think Michael M's the crazy one, but he's actually the one that's normal. I'm on his side 💯
I was an extra in his film _Strength and Honor_ . One of the fight scenes was filmed in the old Ford factory in Cork City, Ireland. There were hundreds of extras. As I stood there, himself appeared alongside me and in his distinctive voice he asked "How are you doing guys?". Fond memories.
Oh wow. You were almost famous. So cool.
Holy Cow. That Baldwin dude is off his rocker.
Why can’t we get full video of the podcast ? I don’t listen to podcast unless I’m at work I like to sit n watch the boys talk n feel part of the conversation do full video eps for TH-cam please
Madsen seems like an old school movie star, appreciative for the opportunities and a good guy.
That was crazy interview. Can't believe how honest you guys were. Kudos. You got me to subscribe!
Stopped by to check out the interview and I’m glad I did. Mike Madsen a great actor in everything that I’ve seen (so far). I’ll be back.
Stephen was brilliant in Usual Suspects. Such a cool role.
This is rare for me. I have never seen him interviewed before .He's always been a favorite actor on my list of actor's
Thank you Michael and Stephen for this interview and for sharing this story. I needed this today. I love you guys and your honesty !!!
"Al comes in and he goes....AW AW AW AW!! 😅😅😂
I love Donnie Brasco!
One of my favourite people overall- not just as an actor. Classic bad guy roles suit him soooooo well in movies- yet he can act with incredible depth no matter what character he has been given.
This podcast is going to explode. The banter is quick and interesting. Stephen has got interview and experience skills that lets the guest speak fluidly while enhancing what they are trying to say. This is top notch shit.
Need more Mr. Madsen's in the world 👍...Stephen Baldwin...cool guy too man 👍 Merry Christmas, to many more DECADES...no joke 🙂
Always enjoy watching you work. One of the most underrated actors out there.
I’m from Chicagoland. So is Mr. Madsen. I can hear it in his voice.
Yep, Michael's from Chicago. Surprised u didn't know that! From another Chicago native.
Great interview Stephen. You walked the line awesomely .
Michael should do his own podcast. Have all these supporting actors, tell stories on what it was like to work with so and so? Just people that have either made it? or just dont give a $ what anyone thinks anymore. Interesting concept
I still remember how excited I was as a child seeing him with none other than Michael Jackson, Billy Drago and Marlon Brando in "You Rock My World".
Brilliant podcast guys, keep it up. PS, Madsen was Quality.🇺🇸😀🇬🇧
Hard to imagine not liking Johnny Depp in Donnie Brasco.
Stephen Baldwin and Michael Madsen saying Johnny Depp’s performance in Donnie Brasco was “terrible” and “lifeless” is just crazy.
Depp has unfortunately become terrible
I agree. He's great in it.
I wouldnt say terrible and lifeless, but his character was nothing like real Joe Pistone, but so was Sonny Black to be honest, Al Pacino was perfect cast for Lefty tho
Not really. Depps character was pretty bland. Any actor worth their salt could’ve played that role.
I agree with them,if you watch it nowadays you would defo agree total cardboard
Madsen is harsh on Johnny, his performance was fine. Its Al Pacino's best performance imo. If you watch Michael Franzese podcast he rates Pacino's performance as one of the best depictions of a made guy in a movie.
No Depp is not good in those roles. He lacks agression.
@@The_Gypsy_Prince-y3v Donnie Brasco character shouldn't be overly aggressive in the first place. Have you seen Johnny as Jim Bulger in Black Mass he is terrifying .

Michael Madsen & Stephen Baldwin talking about Johnny Depp's acting is priceless 😂 both are truly bad actors and we all know it

I liked Johhny Depp as Donnie. Donnie Brasco is a top 5 mob movie to me, guess that's why I don't work in Hollywood

Great movie...Donnie Brasco. Pacino and Depp are the stars, obviously. But the supporting actors were great. I would give special props to Bruno Kirby. Never thought a guy like him could play a wiseguy type. Joe Pistone said Kirby nailed the person who is the real Nicky.
I saw Pacino on the street in Manhattan once . He stood in the middle of the actual road and crouched down for what reason I have no idea . Maybe he was scouting locations
Baldwin laughs like Liotta in Goodfellas, like if he really don't want to, but his life maybe depends on it.
Have you heard the real Henry Hill laugh? Ray Liotta nailed it.
More like Jimmy Fallon
Superb story 😂... Michael and Stephen are the best type of actors..the ones that can project themselves, with that mega screen presence.
when I met Mike what a great guy 👏👏
I understand what Michael is saying, I noticed that with a few actors that are like that. Where they play over the top characters but when they end up playing "normal" characters, there's nothing there. They're lifeless.
Nothing there in Donnie brasco though?
@@FilmThePoliceFTP I'm not sure. I love the movie. But I'm not sure if I like his acting in it or not.
I mean, comparred to your 'average' Depp role, it's very low key, but I think that's what it was supposed to be.
@@FilmThePoliceFTP What I'm saying is most of the time, he cannot do lowkey.
Depp was too effeminate for the part, a tougher looking bloke would have been better.
You have a real show.. real guests.. real interview and its real interesting.. thumbs up 👍
First saw him in an episode of Tour of Duty back in the 80’s. Been a fan since.

I love Michael Madsen. One of the best!!
iWould not know how long he has this channel for, but, let's support these wonderful actors.
Great Interview, Madsen is a great actor. But have to say Depp was great in Donnie Brasco, one of his best to me. Pacino was great too, because Al played it smooth and lower key , not so loud like his later movies. Great movie.
I sense a little jealousy. Johnny Depp was and is one of the best actor's of our generation. I don't understand all the shade.
Exactly!
Thanks for your interview on Vladtv S.Baldwin. It brought me strait to your podcast and channel
That was a good interview
Lesson in this for everyone i.e. Michael at about 7:20 (tail end of experience w/Pacino for
Donnie Brasco). What an attitude, i.e. I'm not the one putting-up the money for this. Thanks to Michael and to Stephen for great interview of great actor.
That’s one wild story! lol so good
I watched Conan interview the Beastie Boys. That led to Conan interviewing Pacino, which turned into me wanting to rewatch Heat. Then I turn YT back on and it suggested this. That’s how the algorithm brought me here. Now I’m subscribed, hooked and binge watching. Great stuff. 🤙
Most of pacino's modern characters are just HIM though...they'd all say "You like that book" right of the cuff so I think you might be just wanting it to be that he was in character. I think he's just been pampered and catered to a hell of a lot.
