This movie is so dark for 2 and half hours and ends with this haunting scene of two people who need each other but because of who they are have to go their separate ways. It was so beautiful. Matt Reeves has created a masterpiece. The truest version of Batman ever put on screen.

If you ask an actor/actress, "How were you able to pull that off?" I'm quite sure they would downplay their own performance and give credit to someone else on the production ("I wouldn't have been able to do it without the director."). And the director would say, "I wouldn't have been able to do it without my crew." And the crew would say, we wouldn't have been able to do it without you putting your pencil to the paper.
It's not just one person. It's the entire production that consists of many individuals who have inspiration from Life's experiences. And that includes Bob Kane and an infinite amount of others before him.

Absolutely loved the ending scene. I’ll admit it made me cry. It was just delivered beautifully. No set ups for future movies, no jokes, no big action ending sequence.
Just two people who love each other, not having the bravery to say it, because deep down they know, they know their paths go different ways.
And that ending shot, Robert’s gaze into the side mirror, looking at Selina drive away, with a sad yet stoic expression probably thinking about another life not lived, what could be. And then the music becomes a crescendo and he looks ahead, with full determination, knowing what he must do.

    • @youtubeviolatedme7123

Looking ahead and not in the mirror is also symbolic of his arc in the movie. He no longer fights crime to avenge his parents' deaths. That pain is in the past. He now fights crime to protect Gotham. That love lies ahead.
When he chooses Gotham over Selina, it shows that he has managed to not only separate his personal motivations from his heroic duties, but also dedicate himself to his heroic duties and leave his personal motivations behind him.

What separates this movie than most superheroes is that it doesn't end on an action packed scene. And it doesn't need to. Sure this film has action but that isn't the main focus. Emotion is the main focus of this film. If you are familiar with the Batman character He is very emotional especially within this film, more so than any other film, including The Dark Knight. Let's not forget the final farewell to Selena is such a heartbreak for him. She is somebody he feels a kinship to despite their differences, but he must walk the high road that often ends up a lonely one. That's what makes him a hero. That's what makes this ending an emotionally climactic scene.

    • @youtubeviolatedme7123

When he chooses Gotham over Selina, he is also choosing Gotham over his parents. He no longer has personal motivations to fight crime. He doesn't fight crime to avenge his parents and strike fear into the heart of criminals. He becomes a hero who selflessly protects Gotham, and to her citizens, offers hope to their drained hearts.
He is driven by a noble cause, and that drive gives him the strength to not look back in the rearview mirror after bidding a final farewell to the only woman he's ever had feelings for, and more importantly, his parents.

Hans Zimmer best watch out. Giacchino is quickly becoming one of the most incredible composers I’ve ever heard. All of Zimmer’s soundtracks have a distinct sound that keep them all somewhat similar, and you can tell he composed a movie’s soundtrack without knowing it’s him.
But everything I’ve heard from Giacchino has been distinctly different each time. It’s amazing.

    • @evangriffin9112
      @evangriffin9112 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

Hmmm. I understand what you mean. I think the problem with Giachinno is the fact that he can only seem to make one or two themes and then he reuses them over and over per movie. Say Up and Spiderman even this. There’s the beautiful strings like in this song but then there’s the badass batman theme. However Giacchino excels when there’s already a prerequisite for how the music should be, such as Rogue One. 7 other Star Wars movies to take from. And obviously there’s other batman movies but that can be argued is a different situation. Hans is clearly capable of creating multiple different themes and expanding on theme for every single score he composes. Now yes you know when it’s him doing it he has his own style ofc same as everyone else. But just based on this I think it’s fair to say Giacchino is one of the best, probably top 5 at this point, but Hans is on another level when it comes to scores.
      Just my opinion though

At the end of the film, we see *vengeance* become the *knight* , in the sequel's ending, I believe we'll see the *knight* become *The Batman.*
At the start of this movie we follow an experienced Batman who's goal was to be the symbol of fear, darkness and vengeance, as a form of justice. Fear did not control chaos, but amplified it as well as created extremists. Hope for those unheard, but guided down a path of fear and focused violence, such as the Riddler.
It's not until Alfred's truth is revealed, the kiss of Selina, the Riddler's admiration for his brutality, and the Riddler goon saying "vengeance", he sees that becoming "vengeance" further prolongs Gotham's suffering. By him helping people out of the floods, he becomes the knight. He may have lost and failed to prevent the bombs going off, nor save everyone from the Riddler, but he is now on the path to become the silent guardian we know and that gives Gotham hope.
