    that should be standard on all new trucks- jus sayin

      Sterling Blair it would make too much sense, just like air suspension. Probably wouldn't cost much different than an off-road package or leather at the dealership.

      for the 80k+ that new trucks cost there is no reason dump beds shouldn't be standard other than manufacturers being cheap

    Absolutely awesome! Did you have to move the bed farther back from the stock location? I was also curious if you just used a hinge on each side of the factory frame rails or did you build a rail to go all the way across the frame?

  • @RT360ci
    @RT360ci 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with it being a problem should a leak happen, but it makes sense to keep it in the cab so the fluid can flow better in the winter months with it not being directly exposed, and some cab heat always helps although it will be minimal as its tucked behind the seat.

    How did you make that work with the hitch?

    • @J0Boa
      @J0Boa  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used 2 pieces of 2x2" square tubing , under the frame where the hitch attaches to drop it down a little so the bumper can clear the hitch when the bed is up. The Curt hitch is attached through the tubing to the frame with 5/8 x 3" bolts

      He may have 1000 pounds but not 3000 unless springs have been added which I doubt and I don’t see airbags

    thats not a good idea to mount the pump in the cab. If it springs a leak your going to have a mess on your hands. otherwise its a nice setup

  • @mrRickization

    • @allenmckinney9533
      @allenmckinney9533 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      heidi rick a power steering pump doesn't even do 1000psi. Plus it doesn't hold enough fluid.

  • @1scottdees
    @1scottdees ปีที่แล้ว

    I would strengthen the corners of your bed and fill that 90° corner with 45° of support. So the log doesn't land in the corner of your bed and bend it.

  • @joem6299
    @joem6299 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    3,000 pounds of oak? I doubt that. sorry to be negative nancy, but that scissor assembly is not home made. I would know as it is identical to a pierce dump kit on my chevy. great job on hinges and what not, as that's a pain to make.
