Great job. I can’t find any others similar to it on TH-cam. Many of the winch lift dumps have stationary posts that are supported with angles. You definitely have a mechanical mind to understand that this post needs to pivot as the dump body forms in arc as it lifts. That is brilliant. I love TH-cam so that people can share these ideas. Thank you so much. I’m excited to get started on mine.

You did a great job of engineering.
I haven't found anyone else that has thought of a kickstand or the bracket to hold the post out from the dump bed.
Keep on with the great work.

    The pivoting post is genius

Great work on having a go, thinking and adapting common concepts to make it work.
Cable and winch tippers are making a come back as its 1/5 the price of hydraulics.

I had a harbor freight 4x8 trailer and I was given a 5x8 trailer with a ramp for a job I did. I took apart the 4x8 welded it solid and put it inside the 5x8 used the same hinges for the pivot and used a detachable 2" square tube inside a 2 1/2" that extends from 4' to 7' I welded a 4000 lbs. winch to it with a remote control and it works awesome. You need an electric winch. You won't regret it.

You are well on your way :) I love my dump trailer from a pickup box. hydraulic dump.
I would definitely try to adapt a cordless drill or torque wrench for cranking it up and down. You will find your Garbage Runs less dressful. Be safe

Well done Jimmy. The YT community (Netizens) are impressed. This is definitely a first of its kind project. Fine job of walking around and demonstrating it in action. The only thing I wished is if you made like a short 10 min video series of you actually building it. Maybe even providing a blueprint for us nerds ;)
But I feel confident in building one now. Maybe not as good but I'll give it a shot.

For the pole you can do a telescopic one. And maybe add an electric hydraulic winch.

You can take that cranck handle (make it where if you need it you can use it) off and make it where you can hook up a drill to it.(not a impact but a drill)

As much as the winch/pulley system can handle combined with the trailer capacity.

Looks similar to the one that I built 10 years ago (link below), it was finished off with double rear gates that folded and locked back to the side of the trailer body. It was used every weekend at a car boot sale collecting left behind rubbish. The winch was a 12 volt 3500lb made in China that also had wireless remote control but worked more smoothly hard wired as in the video. The chassis was from a 16ft caravan.

Very nicely done. I think I would add Teflon sliders along three sides of your vertical pole and then add some grease or rolling ends to your contact points where you installed the alignment bolts and the bar that rides up the pole. It will save your paint and eliminate the continual rust issues your going to have - as well as the scraping noise. Other than that you've got a great and functional lift device and you could even easily upgrade to a motorized wench at some point either electric or hydraulic. I though of doing almost the same thing but with a hydraulic ram instead of your cable pole and using a cheap 12V automotive power steering pump for the hydraulics (a few cars use electric pumps instead of running off the engine serpentine mechanical pully). But I would prefer the hydraulic "pole" design rather than a scissor lift or under trailer mount much like you have shown here for reasons I won't explain here.
