Android 2.0 to 4.0.3 were pretty much the same with just a few tweaks made frew this versions. Android 4.0.4 was an overhaul to the ui introducing at the time, new touchwiz nature interface. from it to 6.0.1 the interface has stayed pretty much the same with the water sounds and skeumorphic icons. in Android 7.0 the interface was overhauled agian now with the water sounds and skeumorphic stuf fading away into blurs and paper flatness. Android 7.1.1 changed the blurs and paper flatness into darken transparecies and constelation theme. from it to Android 9.0.0 the interface wasnt changed, only some minor improvements in the ui. Android 10 overhauled the interface yet agian with the space theme fading into obscurity.
the ui has now the blurs back with a more solid look on the icons. from it to Android 12 the interface hasnt changed that much, only some minor improvements in the ui. Android 13 redesigned the ui but in Android 14 the ui is back to how it was on Android 12

Really excited about this new version. Hopefully it'll inspire Apple to also improve their UI. IMO their design and usability used to be a few steps ahead until now (and the fact that Google copied a number of iOS features confirms that) but with this update I see Android a few steps ahead.

It's not the first time, actually. I've used Android for years in the early days of its material design and had to refer to modifications like the Xposed framework and even custom ROMs to add features I considered very useful and important.
Later it turned out that iOS already had most of them out of the box.
But as I said, this new Android version is very impressive and I'd be happy to give it another try.

  • @wiitees5770

Android 12 is a huge step back from 11. Feels like a shittier version of iOS. I have an Android because it isn't an iPhone! The new UI is huge and clunky. Bring back the smaller, more detailed UI Google!

    • @vshah1010
      @vshah1010 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Android just keeps getting worse and worse. New gesture nonsense. Luckily I could go back to ordinary navigation, but I had to change it from the default.
There are so many features everywhere that it's impossible not to active a feature you don't want just by picking up the phone That's also the phone manufacturer's fault for making edge to edge screens and overly sensitive touch screens.
And, Android keeps changing the OS radically. Every time I get a new phone I have to learn a new OS. What a waste of time.

Fun fact: Android 11 already has a "Notification history" shortcut right in the notification shade. For those of you who haven't turned it yet you can do so by simply opening the notification shade tap on "Manage" then toggle notification history to be on and next time you open up the notifications panel if you scroll all the way to the bottom of your notifications or clear them all you'll see a little thing called history if you tap on that it'll take you directly to your notification history.
edit: you can also tap the "You have no notifications" or on android 12 "no notifications" to get to the notifications history

App Drawer isn't a valid argument either because iOS 14 added it's own version called App Library. So yeah, I 100% agree. As time goes on, both OS's are becoming shockingly similar to one another.. I also agree that at the end of the day we shouldn't care about what phone someone else uses. I think there is this big widespread perception that iPhone users just buy them to show off, and while that might be true for some people, I personally use it because it works best for me, and it gives me the best personal user experience.

I think it’s funny how the competition always makes me choose Apple with their advertisement. I think the new redesign is just ugly to say nicely one straight iOS copy I wish they would’ve gone with a different user interface and copied all those nifty features from iOS and added some unique ones to make android unique again and just different from iOS I wish I would’ve thought different. Now I’m in the apple ecosystem and I enjoyed for the first time and I loved it they added lossless to Apple Music for free I mean Apple is really awesome again to them really long. I’m going through a break up with android and my affinity with tech has gone down in general. I hate that you can’t have a picture in picture mode with TH-cam on iOS. This whole worshipful attitude towards technology to me it’s just stupid said Hamza Yusuf God knows how many years ago and I now have the same opinion. I hate that tech became so mainstream and it’s no fun being a geek anymore and smartphones all kinda look the same and They’re so many awesome android phones like the Moro Razr 5G or the Oppo Find X3 Pro or my new favorite the Sony Xperia 1 Mk. 3 but in the end I only need one phone so chose the iPhone and I stick with it. I think it’s a a son of bitch sick move from Apple though that I don’t I have night mode on the front camera on my iPhone 11 “Pro”. They’re are people that try to convince me that that feature is enabled through the A14 Chip like the A13 is not powerful enough for that. Google used to be awesome and they gave me that on my Pixel 2 on all cameras. That’s the best phone I ever had bla bla bla

@@csr2537 I think the biggest problem is the value of that data.
👇🏻 THIS IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL 👇🏻
If online ads were required to be more akin to television ads where the is no personalization then the data would have significantly less value to the people who collect it.
The benefit to this is that with less monetary value placed on data collection the shareholders would likely put more emphasis on locking Google's mobile platform down and increasing their margins on Play Store Sales and in-app-purchases in the same manor as Apple. They would then try to beat Apple in the world of privacy control with actual competition. Advertising would still be a big part of their revenue, but likely lesser so. Another benefit is the bias confirmation issue we have today where people are fed more and more information that conforms to their own bias could potentially be eliminated as people are not algorithmically categorized. This would lead to less extremist viewpoints and people would likely be less assisted towards other's viewpoints.
The downside to this would be that it could negatively impact small businesses as they can't rely on their advertisements actually reaching their target audiences. This could lead to brands depending more heavily on social media sponsorships and product placement. This would actually be a good thing for content creators though, as they would be more likely to score sponsors. Idk, this might actually just balance out to be fine. There might be other downsides as well, but I think society would be better off regardless...

Like the new mobile TH-cam qualoty settings this now requires one more action whenver I wan't to toggle Bloototh or the Airplane mode without adding any functionality. They say it fits more information but from the pictures I've seen there is barely any and there also isn't much ingormation to add to qny of these, my Flashlight is either on or off, I don't need to see more.

That's because Samsung's already doing it, nothing new, Yawn zzzz android totally dead Haha the ui and colors are so ugly.
This video is just a bunch of confirmation bias, but too bad considering its linus, he keeps saying he's not biased, somehow I doubt it
      Also google = privacy, hahahahahahahahahahahahhaha....
Degoogled and linux phones exist for many reasons and linus awareness in the industry is fading, then again he's a outdated boomer

@@onlyswedishmeatballs1677 then why are you here? Also I have not watched a single video from Linus and even I can tell his obvious sarcasm when he said "Google cares about your privacy". And what confirmation bias? You mean his "biases" based on actual features that are rolled out by a company and he's merely listing them? Are you that dense?

@@onlyswedishmeatballs1677 look, everyone has their own oppinion about what their fav phone OS are, but honestly, iOS is 90% camera 5% apps 5% whatever else. It's a phone for social media while androids are more an all around kind of shit. Android releases security patches every month or so to keep privacy and security up-to-date, while apple has always been known for their "extremely good privacy" right? Apple is a scam company who somehow accidentaly made a good phone. They're taking advantage of people who are buying products from them just because of the "Apple" branding. I wouldn't care if it was just expensive but it's also a pain in the ass to deal with. Alot of documentation, rules, restrictions, no right to repair without going to an certified apple "genius" and that's just some problems to name a few, since there is surely much more.
