Unpopular opinion, Pro models shouldn't mean bigger screen only. I'm so bummed that the Pro modell only comes in 6.7 inch that's going to be so much thumb gymnastics. Google should have released a Pixel Pro 8 as a 6 inch version too (although I really yearn for the times 5.5 inch screens were still a thing)
a bit like the iphone pro vs pro max. all the power within the smaller form factor. The best of both worlds.
Yes!!! I hate the big phones. I only bought the 8 Pro because of the camera.
Agreed!! If they made a 6inch pro or slightly smaller I would be all over that.
Completely agree. I would have bought the 8pro if there was a version of it that was the same size as the base Pixel. I hate large phones and how bulky they feel in my pocket, it's why I downgraded from a S22 Ultra to the S22+
Maybe next year Google will take a page out of Apple's book and do a Pro/Pro Max type of release
I like and hate big screen at the same time. Using iPhone 13 pro max as main and Pixel 7 as backup right now. Planning to swap pixel 7 with 8 pro and use it as my main in the future. I do appreciate the smaller screen on Pixel. Super easy to use with one hand. But I feel like I have to place Pixel a bit closer to my eyes than iPhone because of the size. So bigger screen would be beneficial to my health in the long run. But hey, at least on Android system we can go back to previous page by swiping from either side of the edges, so I think I'll manage.
The Pixel 8's dimensions are _real_ nice, so I went with that.
onion farts
Nice, but I am still deciding if I want those pro features.
why not go with samsung compact phones like S23
@@jokast8861 I got one to try it out... the camera on the S23 sucks!! Haha. Taking pictures of the same thing and comparing side-by-side between my 5A and S23, difference was massive. With the S23, everything looks airbrushed!! It's a totally different reality that I don't like. Returned it after 3 days
Really interesting how opinions differ. I would have loved the Pixel 8 - but the screen was to small for me. So I got the Pro.
Maybe manufaturers should always do a big and a small version of the same market segment.
Tbh, I think the Pixel has arguably become the best-looking smartphone in recent years. Such a neat and symmetrical design
For me pixel 5 was the peak of clean looking smartphone atleast in the android world
Symmetrical bezels all around and a punchhole. I am sucker for that clean look
Yes it's same as Samsung S21 with 6.2" display and same curvature and rounded corners. Extremely comfortable to hold. I like it.
Yes... keeping aside all the software stuff, I just love the design. It's getting better every year. Its so distinctive in today's era
@@maarijahmedkhan8678 💯 wish they continued with that style as well, maybe as the a line.
Hard disagree. The Pixels are MINGING
Call screening is a great feature. I'd say about 3 or 4 in 10 calls stay on to say who they are and the rest gang up because they're spam marketing calls etc. Saved me loads of time and hassle. Love this feature.
Personally going to upgrade to the 8pro from the pixel 5 so hoping to see a nice jump in performance.
You do realize it's not a new feature, right? There have been apps, and one app from google itself, since 10 years that have been able to do that.
Why aren’t people just answering the phone themselves? Have I missed something? You still have to listen and manually hang up. The only benefit sounds like you don’t have to speak?
@@DanielJonesParamotor I don't think what you said has anything to do with call screening bud
I preordered the 8 because of its small factor and beautiful flat bright screen. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
Wait tomorrow? Mine doesn't show up till Thursday.
@@Sirg17xMine arrives today
Pixel 8 pro is a flat screen aswell
Great phone, def improvement from pixel 7. First evening phone will be kinda laggy (not feeling like 120 fps if you choose to turn that on) not as smooth and battery drain tho.... granted all the transfered App downloads, system/security/google play updates to do etc.
Ever since then, been pretty good.
Pixel 8 is not a flat screen but the 8 pro is
Honestly, if Google actually keeps their promise of updating these devices for 7 years. I think it would be a real game changer for the industry as a whole. Not that in the US market people aren't hanging on to their phones for about two maybe three years, but in other parts of the world where smartphones are more of a luxury than an everyday commodity it means a lot
This guy thinks the rest of the world is a third world country lmao
Europe is just as obsessed with smartphones as the US - and we have a range of them too, Americans are lapdogs to Apple by the looks of things.
Sadly the thing is that Pixel is not really that available in other parts of the world. Like here in the Philippines, Pixel is not officially released. I only managed to get one thanks to third party resellers and I can't even use 5G and other Pixel features thanks to that.
People shouldn't be doing that in the US either.
@@avatarspirit57I also bought a new pixel 7 last year through Resellers. They bump up their prices by almost 2x here in our country
First time I ever went with the Pro but not becasue I "wanted" to. I'd love to have the "Pro" features in a smaller size but I didn't want to miss out this year so I am stuck with the huge screen. I did a trade in deal that made it free so it just made sense to the get the one that will be worth more down the road.
Which feature in particular? Some smartwatches also have a temperature sensor. Pro camera controls and video boost feature will likely come down to other pixels.
@@coolerbanana Just the better cameras I suppose and LTPO screen. It was going to be the same "cost" either way. May as well go big 😂. Also, they mentioned the video boost mode being Pro exclusive possibly due to ram.
@@pittmanx6 when i first heard if samsung note range with large screens. i always thought it was weird. The i got myself one and never went back on a smaller screen. If this is your first large screen phone you might like it and never look back.
I have the P6P and wanted to go with the P8. But the P8 is $300 w/ trade-in or the P8P is free w/ trade-in.. so free Pro it is!
I feel like this time, they actually did a better job of differentiating the 8 Pro from the 8, mainly by camera features alone. From the better ultrawide + telephoto lens to all of the pro controls and Video Boost, there's quite a few software camera tricks that you don't get on the pixel 8 that I'm positive plenty of camera fanatics will pay extra for. Combine that with its better LTPO display, temperature sensor (lol), increased RAM, higher storage options and 7 YEARS of software updates, low-key the 8 Pro is looking like a better long-term investments for lots of people (provided that Tensor G3 improves on the issues that plagued the G2 chip).
Have you watched marques latest video about Google. I think it will be difficult for them to keep up with the 7 year update. If they can it will be cool
@@joshuaomatsuli They're updating the 2017 PixelBook until 2027 so I don't see why 7 years would be too farfetched for a smartphone
@@joshuaomatsuli yeah that obviously remains to be seen if they make good on that promise, especially after killing Pixel Pass. I'm sure Google is at least somewhat aware of their notoriety of killing services and products, and did this to show people that they can trust them. this is all really in theory rn, especially since none of them have actually shipped and reviews aren't even out yet.
The pixel 8 will also have 7 years of OS updates.
Base still starts at 128 GB with more costing extra so that's besides the point. CPU uses different IC packaging as well so may not perform as good on the regular 8 or A model.
But in addition to what you listed, it's also got Victus 2 glass, +.5 inch screen, better resolution, 400 nits higher screen brightness, slightly faster charging to make up for the extra consumption, and an ultra wide band for more precise location tracking. Maybe those colorways could count as well.
Android 14 fixed heating and battery drain issue on my pixel 6a. I mean it's like all the issues are totally gone after Android 14 update, I was an iOS user but now I am definitely staying on pixel line up for long term. Good job Google🎉
I never had any of those problems on my 6a, maybe your phone required a factory reset, who knows. So far I have only noticed slightly lower performance
Have had those issues since day one on my 7a and they disappeared overnight with the release of Android 14.
I'm on the pixel 6 pro until Thursday (8 pro incoming), but with android 14 it seems to have gotten for me
On my 7pro too. Great 👍
also wished pixels use ultra sonic finger print sensor instead of optical. hey remember the face id on the Pixel 4 😊
The Pixel 8 Pro's night mode video is the real advantage. I'm disappointed that I can't get a smaller phone now 😖.
Don't be. Uploading video to the cloud for Google to process sounds like a nightmare.
@@ozzzy3z946 Yea I don't think I'll be needing to do that. I guess that's for those that do pro video work, idk. . I want night mode on standard 8 so I can have a smaller phone. Bad enough we don't have a cool blue color on standard 8.
Got to be honest, the call screening feature was one of my favourite things about the 7 pro.
We get so many spam callers in the UK, when you opt to "screen my call" and you see that the number hangs up within a couple seconds, you instantly know it's a spam caller.
On the odd occasion where it has been a delivery driver or a doctor etc, they've always waited until the end of the message and given a proper reply, which I have then answered.
It's a great feature and I'm surprised to see the scepticism about it in this vid.
Wouldn't the scammers adapt to this and start acting as if they are someone relevant for you to answer?
Never have so far. They just immediately hang up when the transcript starts being read out.
8:32 With the "old" call screen feature (current for me and my pixel 6 pro) the issue I've had is that people immediately thought it was my voicemail and hung up. I've only properly used it and it's only worked a handful of times in the last 2 years.
I pre-ordered the pro just to get the blue color and the extra camera. But after listening to this podcast when it first dropped I immediately canceled the pre-order and got the smaller phone.
Just the way that they were talking about the pro versus the 8. I just knew I had to go with the 8.
Android 14 also improves battery efficiency! My pixel 6 has noticeably better battery life after upgrading to Android 14 last week!
agree..and also camera feature to separate photo from video on the bottom come with android 14......think I will stick with my pixel 6 for now ;)
I was worried about the negative Pixel 7a reviews mentioning Bad battery life. When i bought the phone the A14 Update popped Up right after starting the phone and i am more than Happy with all These hours i can use the phone with its rather small 4385mah battery. 10hours Screen on time Like No problemo senor❤
I have the Pixel 8 Pro pre ordered. I love the bigger phones. I was using the Pixel 6 pro, which I loved, but I kind of broke it on accident. I have been using the pixel 7 for temporary, and I miss the pro version. I am excited for the Pixel 8 Pro!!!
sounds like ur loaded
@@davidohaegbulam9988 I wish. My wife is taking the 7 I have for temporary and upgrading her phone.
I also save money for stuff like this. I also sell my phones when I get the new ones. I don't usually spend more than 200-300 on a phone. When I do get one.
@@davidohaegbulam9988trade in and carrier deals exist lol
I love the pixel 🤲❤️ i would really appreciate if I own one I have been dying to have one pixel 🤲 would you bless me with your pixel 6
hope all 😢
I pre-ordered the Pro to get the free Pixel Watch 2, so I saved ~$50 than if I got the 8. If it came down to size I might’ve gone with the 8, and Hazel is a gorgeous color. But I went with the pro camera features and a free watch
The Pixel Watch 2 is currently half price with the 8, so the 8 + watch is still $150 cheaper than getting the 8 Pro + watch. It does bring them much closer in price, but the 8 Pro definitely isn't cheaper, even if you factor in the cost of the watch (just a friendly FYI in case you really did want the smaller 8 but talked yourself out of it only because of watch)
LOL keep telling yourself that :) I ordered the pro too but the watch will sit in drawer unused. I would not have bought the watch with the 8. I got it for the telephoto I would have taken 1TB ram option over the watch but they did not offer.
I don't know man that Hazel Pixel 8 is really telling me something, it looks sick 👌🏼
Same haha
700 for 120hz is way better than iPhone 15 for 830$ at 60hz … but MKHB watches his tongue with with apple now
Not to mention that the Pixel 8 will get discounts later on unlike iPhones which never gets discounted, but yeah MKB has his mouth under Tim Cook
@@fightnight14 lmaooo
I decided to pay extra for the pro for
- Larger screen
- Telephoto
- Brighter screen
Everything else is a bonus.
I'm happy with my regular Pixel 8. Smallest form factor is most primary for me, but I would have liked that enhanced cam.
I preordered a 15 pro max on the 15th of September and I’m still waiting. I paid for the 1TB version so in the EU that’s 2k EUR. This Pixel update is quite exciting and I’m really considering sacking off the 15 and going back to android.
Don’t, the 15 Pro Max still last you 6 years.
Pixel will drop 50% value in a year, get it next year
@@MrQuay03that's y I'm getting the pro.. seems to hold its value better
Hello how u doing? Please i really need help was robbed and ryt nw cant afford a Smart phone please said if your upgrading to a newer device can you please give me your old device please?😔🙏🙏
Please is there anyone helping me?
Pro tip: if you're a male with a male name, use the male call screening voice. I have 80% more callers staying on the phone and interacting and not immediately hanging up. It's a slight psychological hack - if the caller is expecting to call a dude and a "dude" answers, less alarms bells go off
Waiting for mine Pixel 8 tomorrow, well today, will get delivered in the next 12h i cant waittt
I originally ordered the P8 in red and was super excited...then i read an article about how only the pro model was getting video boost and ai zoom. Both of those are done on the cloud, meaning the actual phone isnt doing any heavy lifting...which means that technically the P8 could have done it too. I had to go with the P8Pro, but i think that this was google intentionally gimping a phone just because.
Yea im sitting here with a 8 on the way thinking the pro looks mighty nice but i prefer the size of the 8
@@0Synergy the size difference isn't really that big. It's not like the Pixel 4... not THAT was a pocketable sized phone.
How has the video boost and ai zoom been
I haven't used it as much as I thought. I honestly thought it would be able to boost the video of pre-existing videos...but it only boosts videos that are shot with the feature on. Not that great.
7 pro here.. best phone ive ever owned have had it close to 1 year now.. had multiple Samsung's never had any real issues but this pixel experience has been amazing
Same, I have the standard 7. Love this phone
Excatly, I had even iphones but I like the pixel.
The pixel 8 is a perfect size. I just wish we get a smaller pro version in the future like iPhones
So True. Id swap my 13 pro if the regular 8 just came with telephoto
they don’t sell. Companies don’t do them because of that.
@@sourlemon14 you tell me that iphones xs/11/12/13/14/15 pro don't sell? Galaxy's s21/22/23 don't sell? Don't be a fool
@@maxchopin409 I'm saying that the iPhones mini didn't sell so apple stopped it.
I'm a Pixel 7 Pro user and the things that most annoy me and that I would like to see improved at Pixel 8 Pro are:
- the face detection: it doesn't work well in low light since the pixel doesn't have an infrared sensor
- speakers quality: it's not good, sometimes we can hear a lot of distortion
- front camera: it could be better, especially in low light
Call screening is freaking awesome. Every time i show it to someone they are amazed by it.
Never worked for me. People would just hang up and call again
@@envyLP333 oh interesting, I've had people hang up and never call back but I get tons of spam calls intercepted by it and often doctors or vendors with numbers I don't have saved that go through it and I pick up after seeing their response.
I love it. Bot vs bot and they don't like it
I wish it worked outside of US..
@@alexkoklikhin509 It works in the UK, however it just annoyed me as, at least at first, it would display the normal "Decline" and "Accept" when I was receiving a call, but as I went to hit "Accept", the "Call screen" option would pop up and I can't cancel it until it's done speaking with the caller.
They also added an extra core, prime core. has 9 cores now
Manufacturers need to stop making the bigger phones the only phone with exclusive features. I think more people are wanting smaller phones nowadays but dont want to compromise on features.
Call screening on the pixel is amazing!!!!
The only thing I was hoping for was satellite communication like the iPhone. As someone who is an avid hiker this would have been a neat addition for SOS.
If you are on T-Mobile or one of its MVNO's, they are going to have a deal with Starlink which will be better and do more than the Apples SOS.
@@kinster02 I am not on T-Mobile and having that be a carrier locked implementation based on your response rather than a native os feature seems annoying. Unless I am completely wrong on how that's how it works.
Google focuses on actual useful innovative AI features on their Pixels. While Apple just promises you not to be the green bubble if you commit to their very expensive ecosystem.
I have the 4a 5G and am definitely tempted to get the pixel 8 though for the pro version I don’t see a big enough increase what your getting to justify paying more for it. The bright display is actually a big plus to me as I work outside a lot and sometimes can’t hardly see my screen when trying to use my phone. The cons I will miss the aux port
Its def worth it if find yourself taking rear pictures a lot. If not, stick with the reg 8.
I would've loved an ultra sonic fingerprint reader in the pixel for that extra price
I choose my 6 over the 6 Pro because the only feature the latter had that I *had* to have was the telephoto lens, and I wasn’t willing to pay $300 for it. $150 more? Yes. $200 more? Maybe.
Cut to now. Do I need to replace my 6 with an 8? Nope. Especially with a smaller screen (I regard that as worse, not better). Even at $400 through Google Fi. But upgrade the Ultra-Wide plus get the telephoto for $200 (again, Google Fi price - $600) for the Pro? Yup. Sold. And really, with that kind of hardware differences (screen size, cameras, memory) that the Pro has over the base model, it seems like it’s worth the price difference with the 8 where I didn’t think it was with the 6, and that’s ignoring the software differences. Now, after the pre-order specials are over and you have to pay $700 vs $1000, I think I’d still go for the Pro.
Seeing how 90% of the phone calls I get is garbage. I really like call screen. Plus hold for me is a godsend . But I'm a cheap guy so I'm going to go for the pixel 8. If I want a fancy camera, I'll just use that $300 saved towards a compact ultra zoom camera
Man I went with the pro version again when I told myself I was going with very sleek, smaller so perfect for one hand ability pixel 8 but the blue color got me. SMH. Might regret it after the honey moon phase. 😢
Is the Pixel still worth it for non-US or non-English speaking countries? I don't think all the features work outside of the US which makes the already higher price outside of the US difficult to justify. 🤔
Agree with that!
I bought the 8 Pro over the 8 for the larger, brighter display. My 6 Pro sucks outside, happy to he trading it in. I skipped the 7.
I received mine today. It's taken me far longer than it should to set up today. My biggest frustration is the display and font size settings. If you get it wrong the text bubble cuts off a lot of text. Something to look out for. Definitely notice it when changing your options in the AI wallpaper settings. Maybe it's just me 😢😅
You mean there's an accessibility issue? I'm a person who needs larger fonts. Is that not gonna work on a Pixel 8/8 pro?
@@resourceress7 hello, I returned the pixel and went back to my Samsung. I'm not sure if the issue I had was an isolated one on my phone only or more widespread. An update may have resolved it 🤷🏻♂️ sorry couldn't be more help.
Definitely use call screening all the time, and have had many people listen to the message and talk to it successfully.

Don't know if anyone will believe this but a lot of people including myself got the Pixel 8 Pro 256gb for about $960 AUD ($620 USD) cause of a loophole we found in a contract given by the service provider.
Pro Model shoulda started with 256 Gigs, 128 is just an insult for $1000
Wish the temperature sensor can take it's own temperature. Lol
Had patience, picked up an 8 Pro for 699 this week (June `24)
Saw some selling for around $624. Hoping to snag a 256 GB model soon.
If more people kept their phones 3 or 4 years and didn’t jump on new ones maybe manufacturers would get more innovative and phones would get cheaper.
ONLY reason I am keeping with the Pixel is because of spam calls. IT'S AMAZING!
my pixel 8 pro 256 GB bay has arrived today but i am working from home today, so excited to see it tomorrow😃
Coming from the 6Pro, the camera setup alone is worth sticking with the pro version of the 8 for me. Finally having no curved screen and no more glass back is just icing on the cake. Those last two actually started making me resent getting the 6Pro over time so having the Pro option this go around without that crap is great and an easy buy for me.
I paid £500 for OnePlus 8T that has a 12gb and 256gb three years ago and still running fast
I'm an outlyer but I really wish there was a 6.4/6.5 inch screen option
What’s the better buy? 8? Or 8 pro? I went with the 8. I prefer the size and feel like it’s pound for pound the best offering.
I agree with 8 as the best buy for me. I'm not that much into photography on phones.
8 should be enough. The compact size will be nice in the hand
Maybe you'll agree , watching this video on pixel 7 and there is just one thing that is exceptional with Pixel 8 : 7 years Android update.
Unless they decide not too. Google doesn't really have a good track record of keeping promises. But i hope this convinces other companies to extent their support

Marques didn't get the email about the end part of the podcast 😂
But the Pixel 8 is much smaller now so... It really breaks them a bit apart in terms of "PRO" usage.
A change from 6.3 to 6.2 isnt so much smaller.
What type of phines do you people use sheesh
@@abhinandhari7812 It is when the phone was already small. I'd argue that if you want the best camera experience, the screen is a massive part of it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 i had the same look at the same time as Marques and absolutely understood all those looks. I'm interested in all the Pixel 8 camera reviews.
Ive had the Pixel 2, 3,5, 6a, and 7 Pro. With almost all of them I have encountered overheating issues while taking video. That was quite annoying. Anyone else have this chronic issue on theirs?
I had the Pixel 2 XL and now the 6 Pro. But the Pixel 2 never had any problems for me (in my case it was the only Smartphone that never caused problems) and the 6 pro sometimes gets very warm when charging, but otherwise not really.
when is the review coming out? trying to see if its worth it to pre order so I can get a watch lol
I just want the base pixel 8 to have a good battery life. I've been using my pixel 6 for 2 years now even from the beginning the battery life is just sad. I've turned off 90hz, location history, now playing and other stuffs but it's nowhere good as a non pro iphone. I might jump ship to iphone 15 this year, I'm just waiting for the pixel 8 review, though I'm almost sure that the battery wouldn't be much of an upgrade. Google just doesn't care about battery life
I've been using so much the 'screen call' feature since it came out that I totally forgot that isnt a regular feature on all phones. Definitely one of those things that have made my daily life better without being too intrusive or requiring too much of me.
Honestly the price increase for the base pixel is at least justifiable but the pro should have been 900 and base 700 then $200 difference is fine like Samsung and apple between their phones
I'm really glad for the bigger screen of the Pro
I would answer no, but considering the difference b/w the 8 Pro and a Pixel Watch vs an 8 with free Pixel Buds pro was only $150 i opted for the 8 Pro.
Tensor G2 had a bad network reception (specially here in India). Hope they have fixed it in G3
7:45 Marqués “Get it, text a message I don’t know the number”
Hey guys at MKBHD HQ, has the pixel 8 pro embargo been lifted? When is the pixel 8 pro camera review?
I’ve been a pixel fan forever but i had to switch from the pixel 7 to the iPhone 15. The battery was just atrocious (I was getting down to 75-80% just in the 30 minutes for getting to work) and the performance of the SoC just needs work. Hopefully when google goes to tmsc in pixel 10 and leaves exeynos behind it’ll get better. Although I’m starting to think they should’ve just stuck with snapdragon overall
Interesting. I've used call screening a few times, mainly when I could take a call but it would be inconvenient (in a quiet room or meeting etc, and though it doesn't transcribe what they with perfect accuracy, it usually gives me enough accuracy to know if it's worth me calling them back) sometimes it's just like Hi this is Mohammed from crypto whatever stocks and I'm like nah thanks, it's genuinely useful and people who really want to get hold of me will definitely often speak to the assistant. One time recently it was a potential new customer so that was useful to do a bit of research on their company name they gave before I called them back. Probably half the time they will leave me a message on there
Thanks Guys.Hopefully we get to see and hear more on the Fold.✌️💯
I’m excited about the pixel 8 pro. I hope my experience is better than I had with my pixel7 or else that’s it for Google phones for me.
I agree, had a ton of issues with the 7 pro so returned it, if the 8 pro has issues I won't be ordering another google phone for years to come.
I'm not the slightest bit impressed with my Pixel 7. I was about to go back to Samsung but finding the trade in value is next to nothing if not nothing. I'll probably wait until it dies then get a mid range Galaxy. Prices are absurd
Haha. I've had a 7 pro since August, have been enjoying the qhd+ ltpo screen... And until this video did not realize I was running in fhd+! The phone literally needs to be 3 inches from my face to see the difference and it's still not super obvious.
While I didn't want to downgrade my display (my lg v30 was qhd), I got the p7pro primarily so I wouldn't need to carry around a camera. And the camera had optical zoom so I wanted it on my phone too... Glad they replaced the ultra wide on the pro. It really doesn't keep up with the telephoto and main, especially in dim light
Marques's face when they do that stupid bit at the end is priceless. 🤣
Is the google assistant upgrade coming to older models also?
Temperature sensor? Sounds like a perfect built in tool for those who smoke/dab concentrate 😂
7 years of software updates, when G is already selling us the pixel 8 very capped by software?! It's a tricky promise... What's going to serve in such updates?? Best tricks are going to be out of reach for sure!
its like the same apple does, some updates are reserved for newer models or features come years later for older models. its shady true, reserving features in the pro, but at the same time understandable since if they wouldnt do it barely nobody would bought the pro model, thats what they justify the 300$ uplift. like having a "license" to use for "free" with the pro while the non pro u wont get that "license" - common these days for every electronic device. AV reciever for example - Brand A has a a cheaper model & a more expensive one, they are technically the same but the more expensive one supports newer Dolby codecs. since the license will cost money, they have also have an HDMI output more but thats equally the same since the production price are pennies while the expensive (pro) model is 200-300$ more

Hi! Thanks for your comment! I never have an iPhone, but I feel there are some big differences with what Apple does:
1) Apple does offer the pro and non-pro in two sizes, so you can buy whatever you want. Google offer the small one just capped. No options. If I want an as-small-as-possible device, I have to buy non-pro Pixel. Portability and 1-hand-usability is key for some of us.
2) Apple differences between non-pro and pro are mostly due to hardware (different camera sensors, different screens, different notches, etc).
Btw, 60hz screens are a no-go, nowadays. Apple has been very bad with this... ...Knowing that it's a stop sign for some of us when thinking on buying the non-pro $800 small iPhone.
On the other hand, although the case you're referring about licenses may be common, it is a shame it may happen in phones that cost 800-1100 bucks. At the end, you're buying a top and (over)pricy device, not a $200 one.
Best regards!
If the 8 gets way better battery life than my 7 I'll happily upgrade to it.
not upgrade to samsung phones with its lovely one ui??
I didn't see where you guys mentioned that the front camera is an autofocus dual pixel lens instead of a fixed focus which The Pixel 8 has a fixed focus
Intentional of course one with other features ,
That's because Apple is the promoter🎉
People are returning their iPhone 15 and ordering. Pixel 8 pro 😮
They should put the best features and cameras in a smaller phone too.
Bought the 8 pro after having the oneplus 9 pro for 2.5 years. happy to go back to Pixel.
Disagree with Marques, as I think he doesn't give sufficient weight to the fact that if anyone's buying this phone because of the 7 year support, the RAM difference matters a lot! The camera difference also helps in future proofing a little.
I have been wishing that one can place the selfie stick phone holder braces right in the middle side section of the phone without the brace pressing on any of the phone's side buttons. It's even more trying when using a gimbal. Scratching off pixel 8 pro will wait for the 9 then. I hope more will submit the suggestions.
I've tried call screening in the UK - but it never seems to work well. The speech to text capability works terribly.
The call screening option does, or at least used to pop up after a second where the "Accept" button was when I was getting a call and when I first got the phone I kept accidentally activating it.
Also I try to use the text to speech feature to listen to a WhatsApp voice note when I couldn't have my volume up, it struggled to understand my Dad's Glaswegian accent and then decided he was speaking German.
I ordered a 8 if i find myself pining for the exclusive features il return it and get a pro. Pretty excited though.
Only suckers buy Pixel phones without some kind of promo deals like pre-orders, Black Friday, and other holiday seasons. That Pixel 8 will get a $100-150 discount, the Pixel 8 Pro will get a $200-250 discount. If you're a Google Fi user you already get a $300 discount for the 8 and $400 discount on the 8 Pro straight up discount when you buy the phone and you only need to be in Google Fi for 120 days to be eligible for it.
Marques' face😂 10:48
The pro settings on the 8 pro are the same ones I have on my LG G7 that I keep as a backup. My Pixel 6 Pro is my daily driver and it performs very well.
I am still using my LG G6 (2017).
I am in doubt to buy a Samsung S23 Ultra or the Google Pixel 8 Pro.
To be honest, the pixel gives you the best possible features for the essentials and its good quality
Trading in my pixel 5 for the 300 trade in and Getting the pixel 8 because of the size that's a upgrade for me and on top of that getting the pixel watch 2 for 150 that's a no brainer
When we talk about price we shoud add that normal pixel cost 699 and you can claim headphones with worth 199 so its make 500. Pro cost 999 and you claim watch with is 349 and its makes 650. So I would talk about 150 price deference.
is that Simple Alpaca ?Never seen his face before. Good review
does brightness effect burn in ? the pixel 8 screen can do that right? idk I know only certain types of screens get it .
Google does good on focusing more on software and features instead of hardware upgrades. Still... why a temperature sensor? Why?
Probably thought of that during the pandemic
I love you saying G2 wasn't good with battery-life but when Pixel 7 got out you guys almost put it in an altar saying it was a must-buy-phone over others. I understand that Pixel phones are a different experience, but it's not that far from other Android phones and in some ways it loses with Motorola phones for example (taking Samsung off the equation). I love your videos and listening to your opinions guys, but I think that when it comes to Pixel you were a little biased last year. Hope it changes this year.
10:47 is the exact face I was making to what they were saying as well. Hahaha
I ordered pixel 8 pro, where did you get the original case?, I could not find it in Best Buy.
My big question is why the ''video boost'' fix through cloud comes ONLY on 8 pro?
Because money
My pixel 6's battery life was and still is amazing. My new Pixel 8 however, not so much at the moment and the wallet currently doesn't work.
