annashoptillidrop I think it's about him facing the reality that he was gay. Killing the men was a metaphorical way saying he was no longer the "the straight guy" he presented to other. It's no turning back and he was apologizing to his mother of the heartache she might endure. Could clearly hear his struggle and pain in this song at time homosexuality was not wildly socially acceptable. Great talent and such a masterpiece.

Brian May himself has written about it on his homepage, so I'm fairly certain it's true. ;)
I honestly think it's right because Brian May is involved. You can tell that he's not going to put his stamp of approval on a new Queen song until he thinks it's ready and also, you can tell that he's doing it to keep the spirit of his friend alive.
