Dirige l'Orchestra il Maestro Pierre Boulez. ... STANDING OVATION! #freddiemercury #video #davidbowie #music #live #underpressure
Under Pressure è nata così».

I had the good fortune of meeting David twice but sadly no meet with Freddie, and for those that say never meet your idol as it could turn bad from your point of view, don’t believe it Bowie was so much more than I could of dreamt of in fact the first time was that David and co star were making a swift exit from the world premiere of Just a Gigolo in London and I was outside smoking and I didn’t know they had left until a limo pulled up next to me and window opened and Bowie leaned out and said can I get a light mate! OMG I was in shock so much so that I told him to keep the lighter! 😂 He said thanks and asked was I leaving early and I said no just have a smoke break to which he said do yourself a favour and leave now only it really is crap!!🤣 He was actually quoted on being interviewed about the movie as saying “Let’s just say it was all of my Elvis movies rolled in to one” He was probably right!

I am blown away! Just blown away at how awesome this performance is! I wasn't into Queen when I was a teen, but now I'm really appreciating them. And Freddie Mercury...what can I say?: One-of-a-kind, incredible voice, great stage presence. David Bowie, too! I miss them both so much! ❤❤

They did record the song together but they never got the chance to perform it in concert together. This video was made up from two different shows. All of the DB clips were taken from a concert he did with Annie Lennox. All of the FM clips were taken from a Band Aid concert ? I think.

    • @thing_under_the_stairs

@@9Tailsfan The Bowie clips were from the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute show, where he performed this song with Queen and Annie Lennox. Unfortunately, Freddie was no longer even alive when half this video was filmed.
The Freddie clips were from Queen's "Magic" tour, which ended in a massive show at Wembley Stadium, the same venue as Live Aid. (And the Freddie Mercury Tribute show, 7 yrs after Live Aid. They needed a big place for that crowd!) Freddie finished the show wearing a massive velvet cape trimmed in fur, and a copy of the Queen's crown. He retired from touring after this, knowing that his health was beginning to decline, though he told very few people.

My 5 year-old daughter is obsessed with this song, and I get choked every time I talk to her about the impact these two legends had on music and culture. This song is in my top-10 canon of music-pure alchemy!! Never a better singer or frontman than Freddie. Never a more inventive songsmithing chameleon than Bowie.

One of my favorite duets. I still get teary when I hear it. David Bowie’s music made me feel like less of a misfit, for lack of a better term. His songs, his personality…he made me feel like it was ok to be different. It’s hard being a teen who is an empath & who’s both intelligent but also semi artistic, you feel like you’re waging an internal battle because you don’t know which side you should listen to. Thank you David Bowie & Freddy Mercury.
