    The sea is so calm. Lovely. I was surprised at how pink the rocks look.

    Super walk Ross. Anywhere else in the world that open land along the beach would be built up with ugly high rises - thank goodness not in Guernsey though! Vazon was not a beach we went to very often I don't know why. Joce NZ

    Used to do a lot of windsurfing there back in the 1980s (Vazon). Great spot. Wind and waves. Big waves. @ Ross: take a trip down to Vazon on a big day, pleeeease!

      Hi, I don’t think there is problem in general getting things delivered from the uk, it might depend on what it is though. A slow cooker, maybe try Aladdin’s cave ??

    Always wanted to move to the Channel Islands. Does Guernsey have the same residency rules as Jersey?

    • @livinginguernsey
      @livinginguernsey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, as far as I know the rules are slightly different. I think Guernsey is stricter than jersey regarding how long you can stay here for🇬🇬

      If you can gain employment here you get a work permit and your family are entitled to a family member permit.
      After 7 years you can stay without a permit.
      A permit also allows you to buy or rent on the cheaper local market rather that open market. Still VERY expensive though.

    My first holiday there was 4 of us in 1969, we stayed in a flat down a road , it was I think on a farm or a tomato grower, to say the flat was basic is an understated, That beach is amazing, I'm sure it where they did bike or car racing on it, you will correct me if I am wrong, we have to get my pictures out, dont remember those stones up by the wall, it was all sand

      @stevenr2463 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, "sand racing" we called it 😃😃

      When my family stayed at Grandes Roques in 1972 we all walked along to Vazon to watch the sand racing. I remember seeing a Spitfire flying over the bay. Must have been a special celebration because we also went to the Guernsey airport to see the Spitfire parked up on the airport apron. Still have some rather grainy photos I took on my instamatic camera.
