    I recently became interested in cooking at home for my family. I am a young Dominican and I love learning how to make the foods. For me it is one way to connect to my roots and culture. I would like to get some help learning how to make sweet or savory bollos. My grandmother used to make them and she isn’t here right now. I get nostalgia and reminiscent memories spent with her and the cooking. They are like corn maiz balls or rellenos. It would be nice to see a video on how to do it properly… Every time I attempt on making them I fail. They break apart or they are wither too dry, it is hard to eyeball my measurements for this recipe! I hope you continue making videos because you do make an impact on others! You’re a great chef! 💐

      This is incredibly sweet and I love that you are taking on the kitchen! I'm not the best on making bollos. However, my Mother in Law is a beast when comes to making them. I'll have to ask her to teach me some more before making a video on it.

    Is the alyama the same as calabaza?

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea pretty much. They're all in the same family. Calabaza can refer to a bunch of different ones and Auyama is a kind of calabaza. If you go to the store, look for the calabaza with the dark green skin :) If they don't have it, any of the calabazas will do the trick or you can also use sweet potatoes. I LOVE making this dish with sweet potatoes whenever I can't find Auyama or any other calabaza. Thanks for watching

    I didnt like the thyme flavor on the guandules i made, what can i do??😣

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no!! sorry that you didn't like the thyme flavor. Did you use fresh thyme or fried thyme? If you didn't like the thyme flavor, next time omit it and just use cilantro or recao.
