Interesting. For me it wouldn't be worth cutting the yield in half to save a little space, but I suppose someone must want this. I'm the opposite - I'd like to see their take on a commercial juicer that can compete with Goodnature.
We're very exited about the new compact J3, because my husband and I will probably end up living in a Tiny House or a Mobile Home. (Of course we would prefer a removable hopper lid).

Not in this episode. The Shine Batch Juicer is 1/3 the price of the J3, IMO I would rather have the Shine Batch and save the $300, and forego the extra 12 years of warranty. Full review of the Shine batch at th-cam.com/video/mRPBAJXMbMU/w-d-xo.html At least it has a feed chute, although it is louder. I will have a comparison of the shine batch and J3 in the future.
I think you are being so dramatic with this machine. Why would anyone pack the hopper like that? It’s a machine for smaller production. You don’t treat it like that because it’s not the J2 for a reason. I have the Hurom 310A for a reason. It’s the right size for me and the juice comes out perfect. It never stops when juicing because I don’t overfill it. I cut my vegetables and fruits before putting them in and it does not take much time to do that. The J3 is not supposed to work like the J2 because of the size different. So you are going to do a comparison video with the J2 and J3, same as you did with the Hurom 310A. That doesn’t make sense because of the size difference. Just my thoughts!
I appreciate your comments and see your points for sure. Nobody will EVER pack the hopper like I did!!! That is why I did it. I TORTURE test the machines, to show WORST case scenarios so I can learn what the machine can and can not handle. I have done torture testing to the Nama J2 over the years I have used it and it has always proven itself to me. I do agree with your point that SOME people want a smaller juicer (such as yourself), that being said, that is not me. I also believe that some people want to buy a nama juicer and will not be sure if they should buy the J3 and save $100 or buy the J3. My video is really for those people because I would not want them to make a costly mistake. The video you want to wait for is when I compare the hurom vs J3 or Shine Batch juicer vs J3, which will be a "fair" comparison in your eyes since the machines are both "smaller sized" machines, which IMO is great to have to drink juice, but not good enough to make a significant impact in your health due to their smaller capacity. I came from a place of having to heal a health opportunity, so I have a different view on juicing that most people may have.
@@discountjuicers I just got my J2 a few days ago and was initially dismayed at the debut of the J3 (counterspace is a premium in my kitchen), but upon watching your video I am VERY happy I have the J2 so I really appreciate this video. I will sacrifice the counterspace for the J2 because it is literally worth it for me. No regrets :) Thank you John. You are the best
I have not tested these two against each other yet. If it were me, I would rather buy the Shine Batch Juicer, which is 1/3 the price of the J3, of course, the warranty is also 5x shorter. See th-cam.com/video/mRPBAJXMbMU/w-d-xo.html for my full review.
Very true.. John does the deepest juicer breakdowns. His knowledge is gold. As soon as I got the J3 email.. I came here! Next video: how would you suggest we travel with a Nama J2? (If we are traveling somewhere for extended stay) What travel accessories would you suggest? -> Also what brand is that effortless knife you use? Is that on your website?
For traveling with the J2, I take the standard juicer (2L hopper) and catch cups included with the machine. If Im tight on space, I will not bring the catch cups and find cups to catch juice where I am staying and sometimes even use a plastic bag to catch the pulp! I do bring a flexible cutting board (or real wood) and usually bring a ceramic knife with me, My recommended products including knives can be found in my amazon store www.amazon.com/shop/JohnKohler
@@discountjuicers thank you John. Ok, so no fancy schmancy stuff for travel - just straight rugged packing. Got it! following you on amazon, I’m definitely picking up your bottle seal suggestion. Hoping it works my current glass bottles.
While it may look similiar to the 310A, the Nama J3 is a bit larger and has more capacity, a more powerful motor that can run 30 minutes instead of 15 maximum, is screened juicer vs screenless, and has a 15 yr full warranty unlike the 2 yrs on parts on the h310 and 10 years on motor (in the USA), warranties in other countries may vary. Stay tuned for my upcoming full comparison of h310 and J3. If your choices are H310 or J3, I personally would choose the J3 between them, it offers a much greater value, IMO.
I did have some issues with the original J2 lid falling off when I knocked it a little. That being said, I would recommend upgrading to the 3 Liter hopper, they improved it so that is much harder to fall off, and some customers even claim its not removable because it is so tight!
In some cases it may work, That being said, I do not generally recommend it, in the J3 it will not work as well, due to "blind spots" in the hopper. Watch this video for the best way to re-juice your pulp I have discovered to date: th-cam.com/video/L77lEb1F2G0/w-d-xo.html (end of the video)
This is a vertical single auger juicer. You probably purchased a omega horizontal auger from me. Is it better? it surely is easier to use, but it doesn't make as much yield on greens as your current machine, will juice fruits a bit better, but also takes 2x longer to clean. If what you have works, and you like it, there is no reason to upgrade, IMO.
Thank you for your feedback to confirm my experience and also sharing with others so they know the truth. Truth be told, I am really not a fan of the Nama J3, and believe people should spend the extra to get the J2, its a much better machine IMO.
I have juiced straight greens in the Nama J2, see th-cam.com/video/iPr18anUyPM/w-d-xo.html and it totally worked. I would think if you add fruit it may work a bit better. Its important to precut the greens, and also juice the hardest and most firm pieces of fruit as possible. That being said, I recommend adding in ROOTS, such as jicama that is as sweet as some fruits, and helps the J2 perform even better. Watch th-cam.com/video/8XU82WLyX3E/w-d-xo.html where I discuss this in greater detail.
If you cut your green small then much easier. Don’t just throw your green in . Cutting your veggies and fruit small is way to go for me , never have any problems since then .
What's your secret to getting that orange juice with the pith in the Nama J2 aka a slow juicer? I always get the orange sugar water no matter the way I format it.
Buy oranges with as much white pith on as possible - select navel instead of Valencia oranges, and keep as much white pith as possible. Watch th-cam.com/video/k6GJ8jreXfg/w-d-xo.html for all my tips. Its also important to use a high quality slow juicers, cheap ones dont grind as well, meaning they wont extract nutrients out of the white pith as effectively.
Its a little faster, maybe 30 seconds, since the parts are a little smaller. That being said, the juicer does not perform as well in my tests, please watch nama j2 vs nama j3 comparison at th-cam.com/video/wF4UaLL9EiM/w-d-xo.html
Good luck! Most people that own the J2 love it, and don't want to sell it. I would check ebay as I have seen a few units show up there for sale. That being said, when you buy a used machine, you lose the 15 year warranty benefit, as the warranty is non-transferable. For this reason, I do recommend purchasing a new one at www.bit.ly/j2juicer and apply coupon code DJJ3 for a $55 savings. You can purchase with no interest using time payments if you can't afford to pay it all at once.
My J2 is headed for the basement. I'm the only one that juices. Done all the batch juicing from freezing to vacuum jars and it's not for me. Make a juice, drink a juice.
I have not, They just announced it, and they are not in production yet. I hope to review them once they are available, hopefully later this year. I can say their design DOES make 2 stage juicing easier than any other machine!
hey john my nama j2 auger no longer fits in the housing correctly, after finally getting it to fit in the strainer/auger combo do not fit inside of the lower portion of the juicer. I've had the juicer for several months now and am not sure what's wrong. any ideas?
Yes, This has happened to a few people, During certain manufacturing runs, the tolerances of some of the parts were off, which causes this problem. Contact nama support at support.namawell.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360003500911 with pictures showing it doesn't fit, and they will replace the parts under warranty.
YES, all hopper juicers have a MAX fill line. Manufacturers do not recommend to fill over the max fill line in the instruction book. That being said, I "torture test" machines, as some people may not read the instruction manual. That being said, even if I did fill to the max fill line, I do not believe that alone would have made a difference with the machine stopping on the thicker carrots. However, it would impact the juice yield made, so while I say this machine can make 12 ounces of juice, if you fill to the max line, it may be more like 8-10 ounces, which to me is not much juice, personally.
Andrew you always ask good questions. That is a tough one. If I could ONLY choose between the J1 (which I didn't like either) or the J3 which would I choose? I probably would go for the J1, it costs less money, has a more powerful motor, that being said, it is prone to clogging/jamming and you can continually juice in it. That being said, in reality, I would not buy either of them, and I would buy the J2.
You can always ask. But first, please search my past videos. That being said there are so many inexpensive Chinese-made juicers I have not tested, and generally don't have high thoughts about or experience with.
This is literally perfect for single or couple households. I don't batch juice and I actually like making my 12-16 oz portion bespoke as I pick my produce (mostly weeds like dandelion & mint this time of year) from the yard ! And for most kitchens, this will be easy to store on the counter.
Honestly, if I was juicing mostly weeds, I would not use a vertical juicer that can tend to clog/jam if the weeds are not properly precut, and will yield LESS nutrition and yield than say a horizontal juicer such as the Sana 707 or Sana 727. See th-cam.com/video/7ILENcNpVOw/w-d-xo.html where I demonstrate this.
In my opinion this is absolutely useless. If you have a small kitchen get yourself a juicer without a hopper. If it could work with the lid open it could've made sense, but they won't allow it to protect from idiots.
Hi John. I sent you question earlier and did't get reply. Hope to get reply on this: I bought the steel lids and vacuum pump you recommend in earlier videos. It works great for storage. Only problem is, I've been breaking 3 of the vacuum pumps allready within 4 weeks, and only have few pumps left. Do you have any suggestion on how I can fix this problem? Thanks for all the amazing tips by the away. Love your channel, and I like the videos long and in depth excactly as you're doing them
That is a problem I also have with the cheap Chinese plastic pumps. The only solution I found is to buy these cheap pumps at www.temu.com/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=601099512470591 and then remove the bottom off the pump and put on the bottom off your current pumps, and it will work great until you break it again. The real solution comes when pure comes out with their pump that is DURABLE and as powerful (maybe more) as Chinese pumps hopefully later this year sneak peak in the video th-cam.com/video/BZkLsmC-Phc/w-d-xo.html
@@discountjuicers I will check out the cheap ones you mention, and looking forward to the 'Pure' ones. Hopefully they won't break. Thank you for reply and all your great videos🙏🙏

J2 is the way to go, only pisses me the lid, constantly falling off but ibwould definitely did not want the juicer to be stuck
I did have some issues with the original J2 lid falling off when I knocked it a little. That being said, I would recommend upgrading to the 3 Liter hopper, they improved it so that is much harder to fall off, and some customers even claim its not removable because it is so tight!
Great authentic information. I much prefer the Solostar 4 Juicer because I juice leafy greens and cucumbers.
Nice but I’ll stick with my j2. I would like a 4 liter hopper😉
Where is the video about storing your juice for multiple days?
see th-cam.com/video/kQI2x5x-DLw/w-d-xo.html
Can we return the pulp again, extracting more juice, please?
In some cases it may work, That being said, I do not generally recommend it, in the J3 it will not work as well, due to "blind spots" in the hopper. Watch this video for the best way to re-juice your pulp I have discovered to date: th-cam.com/video/L77lEb1F2G0/w-d-xo.html (end of the video)
Is this an auger? Is this better than my slow masticating OMEGA JUICER that I purchased from you 14 years ago ?😮
I wish I watch your video earlier 😢 I bought J3 and gets stuck as in the video.
Thank you for your feedback to confirm my experience and also sharing with others so they know the truth. Truth be told, I am really not a fan of the Nama J3, and believe people should spend the extra to get the J2, its a much better machine IMO.
Hey John 👋, just wondering does the J2 still struggle to juice greens if put fruits on top of the greens. For example apple or pineapple?
Cutting your veggies and fruit small is way to go for me , never have any problems since then .
why they made product worst than before.
Thanks for the tip.
ANYONE know if J3 is faster to clean than J2, and by what time differentiation? thx u.
Its a little faster, maybe 30 seconds, since the parts are a little smaller. That being said, the juicer does not perform as well in my tests, please watch nama j2 vs nama j3 comparison at th-cam.com/video/wF4UaLL9EiM/w-d-xo.html
perfect for a Tiny House or a trailer home or a loft apartment
Please how or where can I get the fairly used Nama j2 juicer
LVCIDDD
John do you eat meat or you vegan
I encourage everyone to eat a plant based diet, its better for the planet and based on my research the people.
just drill a 2 inch hole on top
That would solve the issue for sure, but also void the warranty, and create a potential safety hazard. I can not advise people to do this.
John you have to do a review on goodnatures newest juicer the hummingbird…
I have not, They just announced it, and they are not in production yet. I hope to review them once they are available, hopefully later this year. I can say their design DOES make 2 stage juicing easier than any other machine!
@@discountjuicers I most definitely will be looking out for your review.
John please can you disable advertising on your videos it ruins the flow of your great videos
hey john my nama j2 auger no longer fits in the housing correctly, after finally getting it to fit in the strainer/auger combo do not fit inside of the lower portion of the juicer.
Doesn't the hopper have a stop line in it? You overstuffed it AND overstuffed it with GIGANTIC carrots! I hope nobody stuffs it like that...
Can you do a video on Tribest's latest revised Greenstar 5?
Already did :) th-cam.com/video/NQFnlHxfPIA/w-d-xo.html
@@discountjuicers Thanks!
I use cheaper one and works well
Hey John, I need the discount code for the Nama J2. Thanks!
The coupon code DJJ3 will work on the Nama J2 and accessories you can buy at www.bit.ly/j2juicer for 10% off ($55 off J2)
It doesn't look compact at all
Would this juicer be better than the OG Nama J1?
Andrew you always ask good questions. That is a tough one. If I could ONLY choose between the J1 (which I didn't like either) or the J3 which would I choose? I probably would go for the J1, it costs less money, has a more powerful motor, that being said, it is prone to clogging/jamming and you can continually juice in it. That being said, in reality, I would not buy either of them, and I would buy the J2.
Can i ask you your opinion of some juicers?
Fantastic equipment 👌
Fantastic guy 💪
Only thing missing is shampoo 😀
In my opinion this is absolutely useless. If you have a small kitchen get yourself a juicer without a hopper. If it could work with the lid open it could've made sense, but they won't allow it to protect from idiots.
Hi John.
I sent you question earlier and did't get reply.
Hope to get reply on this:
I bought the steel lids and vacuum pump you recommend in earlier videos.
