  • I'm slowly switching all my decks to this sleeve.
    Well done GameGenic, thank you for making a card sleeve that shuffles so well, doesn't get sticky or cloudy, is easy to double-sleeve, and is the perfect size.
    I believe this card sleeve is the best on the market right now in 2023, whether you are using it for Magic the Gathering (MTG), Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Flesh and Blood (FaB), or any other collectible trading card game. These are FANTASTIC.

    He's right! I hate all that extra space on top! Been looking for an alternative to Dragon Shields (I've never liked them). Hopefully these come with the gloss fronts, I dont like the non gloss.

    I have had a lot of the same problems with some of the most popular sleeves and I am very OCD about my decks and especially my sleeves. After watching this video I have decided I am going to give these sleeves a try and see how I like them! For the price I can honestly say if they are as good as you say you cant beat them! Im excited to give these a try!

    Dragon Shields non-glare are like these and are nice. They are just hard to find and have limited colors but with now that GameGenic is an option I will try them out. Plus it's nice that they are that 1-2mm smaller on the top.

      Yeah dragon shield non glares used to be my favorite but I was never completely happy with them

    nice review... first time someone actually long tested the sleeves for a review... I have been f-up by professor reviews already 2 times with dragon shield art matte and brushed. Both had problems... the art matte split easily and the brushed ones scratch .

    I'm so glad someone mentioned the stickiness over time. I've currently settled in bcw for cost, but haven't tried gamegenic. Love their price point. I just wished they made glass front & matte back. The DG clear mattes are nice but too pricey. Have you explored clear matte options?

    I recently came across the Ultimate Guard Cortex sleeves. The only con is the matte finish, but the shuffle is great

    • @QMTG
      @QMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I could only find the glossy ones and the shuffle was poor for those

    I'm not convinced by Gamegenic's sleeves, sadly. I bought three packs to test them out, because they are cheaper than than DS, but after the very first shuffle the fronts have clear scratch marks. The do make fine deck boxes tho and I'm happy with the 15 that I got :D

    • @QMTG
      @QMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow, that's surprising to hear. The matte fronts should prevent scuffs on the front. Were they these Prime Matte ones? I've tried their other sleeves and didn't find them nearly as good as these

      DS Dual Mattes are the easiest sleeves to scratch on the front, from just shuffling, I swear DS's quality has dropped tremendously over the last 2 years or so.

    Dragon Shield had a print run that was really scuffed and i'm loving them finally getting competition. I really like Katana sleeves, which might be an even slightly smaller space on top of a card.

    Might try these out, I was looking for some reviews of these, but everyone kept going Dragon Shields (Which I have a lot). I have the same issue as you, the "forehead" ends up curling up and it bothers me a lot. What inner sleeves did you use in the video?

    • @QMTG

      Yes the curling is annoying. I used kmc perfect fits

    One thing I forgot to talk about is durability. These are great as well. I haven't had any sleeves break apart or visibly marked from shuffling and handling

    • @honelnikSK
      @honelnikSK ปีที่แล้ว

      these feel better than DS for me, shuffle even easier, are a bit cheaper than DS where I live, but after a few Pokémon games (LOTS of shuffling every game) I see some of them get scuffed corners where DS Mattes are just solid. Also I managed to get some of them sticky, DS matte’s surface would prevent this, but bang/back ratio is really good on these

    Just picked up 500 for 30$ have 3 decks in them & i absolutely love them no visual marks or scuffs so far & feel amazing i do like the eclipse a bit better for double sleeves but im definitely going with theses for future decks im not double sleeving.

      Amazing, $30 for something that is worth $0.50 :(

      This is the reason why sleeves cost so much, overpriced.

    I find for tcgs like Pokémon and battle spirits saga where the cards are a bit thicker than MTG you need those extra few millimetres at the top otherwise the cards travel out of the sleeves

    No matter what sleeves I use I always get some crumbs inside, playing on clean table, clean hands, no food. Having this smaller gap on top only seems to make crumbs enter the sleeve more easily. Do you double sleeve all your decks?

    • @QMTG
      @QMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Personally, the gamegenic sleeves have come apart for me after abit of shuffling for some batches (quality control issue)
    The most durable sleeves I've used are the Ultimate Guard Cortex Mattes, Ultra Pro Eclipse Mattes and Dragon Shield Dual Mattes.

  • @Valnjes
    @Valnjes ปีที่แล้ว

    I have switched from Eclipse to Katana, because Eclipse are a pain to double sleeve. Katanas are so smooth to double sleeve. GameGenic look like UG sister company, maybe a spin-off, or just some dudes left UG and build their own company.
    But anyway i will stay with my Katanas for now, ditching all of my Eclipses.
    The only thing Eclipse are superior are the inside black on all the colors of sleeves. Katanas inside color is the same as outside.

  • @darbyl3872
    @darbyl3872 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You shouldn't "shuffle" Gamegenic sleeves. Take half the deck and set them on top of the other half (sides to sides). Then shake the bottom cards back and forth, until the top cards fall into the bottom. Or, do the common technique of adding cards a few at a time to the front and back. The traditional shuffle can damage cards or sleeves.
    BTW, Gamegenic Matte are thick and strong, but clear enough for fine print (my favorite).

  • @alexnicolaou3579

    GameGenics have a major issue that has resulted in tournament DQs after deck checks.
    The 2 packs of 50 sleeeves in the 100 sleeve set are NOT the same. The sides and even size of the 2 50 packs are so different, that if you play a game that uses more than 50 card decks, you will have a marked cards situation.

      @@monkeystylleDude they are new sleeves chill out. Just shuffle them for a couple mins or put a book over them and they won’t have that problem anymore. The new Dragonshield Dual Mattes are way worse than these if you’re talking about slipperiness but you also just need to shuffle them for a little bit and they are like any other sleeve. I’ve been using these, Ultra Pros, Dragonshields and the Cortex sleeves. So far I actually like the GG sleeves a lot for their price point and no real huge difference between Ultra Pro.
