Just discovered your channel and just want to say thanks for what you do as this is all such helpful info especially to someone like myself thats just now collecting pokemon cards with my daughter so it's a little hard to know how to go about protecting like with sleeves, top loaders, binders etc and your really helpful with all this. Wish you and the channel the best and I'll be sure to check out every video!
I wish you did some coverage of the holographic sleeves. The quality on them varies dramatically and it could be entertaining. It also would be useful for those of us that want to try and use a double sleeved setup to have a 'holo' inner sleeve. I see lots of conflicting info on the holo sleeves and which ones even can fit with double sleeving depending out the sizing and all that ofc.
I make use of a small handful of sleeves for Yugioh. I use Dragon Shield to Double Sleeve all my cards of Value for the Collection, and for my Dueling Deck. But for my Collection I keep some in a Binder and others i use BCW Toploaders for storage. Then finally I use BCW Penny sleeves for general storage once pulled from the Pack. The very instant i pull a card, I instantly put it in a Penny Sleeve, then I find it's value snd decide if it's gonna be Double Sleeved and Toploaded or just kept in a Penney Sleeve. I collect Six Samurai cards, and i keep the most mint cards in thr Binder.
Hey! 1 year since you published this video and still very helpfull. BIG THANKS! I was looking for sleeves with a textured/matte back and a clear front so with your review I was able to make my choise!
I have lots of Dragonsheilds for Mtg decks, and once i tried the Eclipse, I preferred them slightly, but the difference is negligible.. for binder cards, I just use VaultX, KMC, or Ultra Pro perfect fits into an Ultra Pro penny sleeve (double sleeve for the more valuable).
Which one is the most rigid ? Because even though I have toploaders, the regular ultrapro sleeves are not enough for my Pokémon cards, they keep on curving and I want to avoid that.
I know there are extra thick sleeves available but each of the sleeves I tested in this video are more or less the same regarding flexibility. You could try double-sleeving your cards to lock out any moisture
Pretty much any card sleeve is good for protecting cards when putting them in binders or storage. The Perfect Fit sealable sleeves are clearly the best at full protection of the cards. But when it comes to actually playing the games and needing to shuffle often, none do it better than Dragon Shield. Dragon Shield also offer "Clear Matte Outer" sleeves that are designed to be used with cards that are already sleeved. So you can turn the lower quality sleeves into good playable sleeves if you're okay with double sleeving your deck. Best example is the Konami sleeves for Yu-Gi-Oh! decks. The Konami sleeves often have really nice designs and look great, but they also are notorious for being sticky and "losing their shuffle" after a game or two. Or the ETB sleeves for Standard size. In my experience, ETB sleeves rip easily when shuffling and using the outer sleeves from Dragon Shield effectively turn them into Dragon Shield sleeves and can be used for longer. And even better, they protect the sleeves they're covering, so if you have a limited run set of sleeves, or ones with a really cool design that you want to use for a long time, you can just replace the Outer Sleeves once they eventually "die out" But if you're just collecting and putting the cards on display, the penny sleeves are pretty good. They can also typically hold more than one card so you could put playsets of a specific card into one penny sleeve and since they're very cheap sleeves, getting the sleeve scuffed isn't a bad thing and can always be replaced.
I like the sealable sleeves a lot. I primarily collect wrestling cards so I don't know if double sleeving makes sense as I won't be handling the cards as much as someone playing card games.
Best way to store cards ? So they don’t warp? Like this ) ( I had some in binders (have some in a red one rn) should I load my special ones in hard top loaders psa like sleeves but not psa cased
I took the dive back into pokemon cards, and I've picked up a couple of booster boxes. Now, I'm going through a couple videos people seem to be on the fence about perfect fit sleeves. Some people say to stay away from them. Some say it really doesn't matter. Any guidance would be appreciated.
I think the controversy over perfect-fit sleeves comes from various manufacturers, both for sleeves and cards. There are too many factors at play. My advice is to find a brand that fits Pokémon cards and stick with them. I've been using Ultra Pro Pro Fit lately and they work fine. I have some $1,000+ cards in perfect-fit sleeves and they are perfectly safe.
When I started collecting the first sleeves I got were Titanshield as Amazon shippes them to Europe and now I sadly can't use any other sleeve as they never have the feel of "I CAN SAFELY HANDLE A CARD" that titanshield has. Only downside - stacking cards take MORE SPACE xd and they're quite pricey.
I have a few modern and vintage booster packs and I was wondering if there are any sleeves you could recommend to store them in. I know about the graded card sleeves but there is a lot of slack in those and was hoping to find something more snug. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
So for protecting a card the best before getting it graded - what would you suggest? Now, how about a card that is multiple thousands of dollars but you don't want to grade it for obvious reasons - what would you sleeve that in?
I like BCW sleeves over all but if I am at my local card shop and need some and they have UltraPro I will buy them, with Pokémon ETB sleeves I am not a massive fan but will use them for my cards to for trade if I have any on hand.
@@urFriendlyNeighbors Sometimes I will double sleeve a card so it fits into the binder page pocket a little tighter, making sure it can't fall out or come loose.
Oh man I have those pro fit sleeves and they feel and look amazing. Even without double sleeving. But those dragon shield resealable ones are such an amazing design, Gotta pick up some of those...
Great video.
I personally use Dragon Shield perfect fit sleeves and their deck/matte sleeves. Absolutely love their quality
Dragon shield also makes Yu-Gi-Oh size sleeves
Thanks for stating the obvious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Are sleeves with dimension 63,5x88,9 mm good for yu gi oh ?

My personal method is to double sleeve (inner sleeve + standard sleeve) then top loader, then binder.
Which sleeves are the most translucent to really bring out the cards’ holo foil?
Probably ultra pro standard sleeves!
@@sleevenocardbehind You mean the penny or the perfect ?
@@mephisto-- If they're by the same brand I'd assume they have the same clarity
@@sleevenocardbehind Oh I get that, but not sure tbh

Check out ‘Tarot sleeves’ from the brand BCW

For me, it would be inner sleeve>standard sleeve>top loader>top loader binder
Great video. I've always used ETB sleeves for my pokemon cards. No issues, but I could see there being a problem if you take them in and out a lot

New collectors here, should I use inner sleeves too ? So i can use sleeve like that
It’s up to you. Using inner sleeves can be beneficial but most people just use regular sleeves

I wanna add that dragon shield has Japanese sleeves also

I wanted to believe your video, but once you said seals on all 4 sides; you lost me. It tucks, that's not a seal.
