    Professor, can you elaborate on what makes side-loader inner sleeves so bad, or potentially damaging? A quick tutorial on how to get (and keep) all the air out when using top loaders would also be helpful. No matter what I do, they keep getting "puffy" over time.

    • @Vildhjuggah
      @Vildhjuggah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I know this is an old thread but the professor says sideloader can damage your cards, not only that they wont protect them as well as toploaders. Actually causing damage on their own and not protecting as well as toploaders are two different things. (I say while I scroll through trying to find a proper answer because I'm double sleeving my new deck and I've put side loaders on and am waiting for the rest of the cards to come in the mail before I do the second layer)

    • @resentfulshrimp8044
      @resentfulshrimp8044 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the main thing with side loaders for me personally is the surface area that dirt and stuff can get in is a lot bigger. You have a bigger slit that stuff can seep into.

    I don't play Magic the Gathering, but I play the miniatures game Heroclix that uses standard size cards paired with the miniature. Awhile back I found your videos reviewing deck boxes and since then I have grown fond of all your review videos, even for MTG and other TCGs and their products. My Heroclix miniatures' cards are all sleeved in Dragon Shield Classic Clears, sets are stored in Ultimate Guard Boulders inside a Arkhive and I take the teams I picked out to the LGS in GameGenic deck boxes. My full set collections (Mainly the Batman/Xmen/Justice League Animated Series) are in UG Zip-folios so I can sit and read the "flavor text" of my favorite Heroes/Villians from comics on slow nights. Just wanted to let you know your reach spans TCGs and to thank you for the videos, looking forward to the future ones!

    Fantastic video Prof! This is just the video I’ve been looking for, rather than scrolling through playlists trying to find the best of each item. It’s always nice to start out with a good product, instead of buying a bad one and having to replace it later. These help a ton!

    For those who use Dragonshield outer sleeves + dragonshield sealable inner sleeves on their commander deck (which makes the deck very tall), I strongly suggest **Dex Protection Medium Deck Boxes**. They are high quality, fit the deck perfectly and have a side compartment for token, dice, etc.

    They really are the best.

    Ultra pro towers are the greatest deck boxes. One of my close friends house unfortunately burned down and all of his towers survived and kept the cards inside secure and undamaged. I love these boxes for every commander deck or any deck I want to grab and go with dice and all

    Definitely spend some time examining the shelves. I see a Bill Bryson book - he's one of my favorites and on my 'frequently re-read' list. These are travel/science books written with a very entertaining British/American blended style of humor and they're truly delightful. A Walk in the Woods is the classic, but Life and Times of Thunderbolt Kid makes a great gift for a boomer (or midwesterner), and In A Sunburned Country is ideal for an American that knows nothing about Australia (like I was).

    Every time I've made an MtG related purchase without consulting your reviews I have regretted it. You are the reason all my sleeves are Dragon Shield. I own Flip n Trays and Satin Towers because your ranking is invariably spot on in my experience. I never regret my purchase when I consult this veritable repository of MtG and MtG accessory information.

    My personal favorites when it comes to sleeves is UltraPro Eclipse matte sleeves along with DragonShield resealable inner sleeves
    I recently splurged a bit to get a few accessories, in anticipation for the day when I can go out and play Magic with my friends again
    First and foremost I picked up an UltimateGuard Ammonite Anti-Pick-Pocketing* bag
    I also got an Arkhive box with five Boulders for my pauper decks, a Flip'n'Tray box for my prized Omnath, Locus of Creation commander deck, two Twin Flip'n'Tray boxes for my other commander decks, and a Sidewinder box to hold all my tokens/emblems/the like
    Just to be flashy I also arranged it so each of my five boxes [excluding the Boulders] is one of the five colors in the color pie

    Thanks for being such a great source for information. I found you while looking at reviews and products because on multiple places people said unless the professor has a video on them I will not even touch X product. Thank you for being a wealth of trusted information.
    Love the videos. I am getting back into cards from when I was a kid, for me that is yugioh. While not everything translates over to the smaller size cards, some important things do.
    Things I have picked up already-Dragon shields are awesome(recommended at my local game shop and I LOVE the feeling of them, fits perfectly as opposed to loose sleeves from childhood), Boulder cases(same game shop, such a great feel once again so much better than the case from when a kid). Picking up the DS slipcase and DS 18 card holders as well thanks to this video.
    Future pickups - Gamegenic looks great and will probably pick up some in a few months or years. I was cautious of the removable magnetic case lid until seeing the shake tests you preform. Definitely the brand I will pick for premium boxes with removable and compact layouts. Inked mats - heard good things before and ability to get a mat made in style of the original yugioh foldable gamemat with small changes to fit modern game.
    What I really wish is for dragon shield sealing perfect fits sized for japanese sized cards. From your videos they seem beautiful and simple to use.

    I suggest if you have a lot of cards you want to transport regularly, putting all of your deck boxes in a pelican case. Not the cheapest option but it keeps your investment safe and locked. I've gone on rustic camping trips with my magic cards and it's nice to know that their in a weather sealed container. If you have some time, you can custom cut foam for the case to suit your needs.

    To answer your question professor. I haven't watched most of your reviews on accessories just from the sheer number of ones you have put out there i lost track at i think 36?
    Secondly, it is black Friday and a number of folks are probably out shopping like I was today for good deals and didn't take the time to watch your video today for that reason.

    one product the Professor didn't mention, but is a good item for Storage/Transport is the Stanley 10 compartment box organizer. Less than 20 dollars, each compartment can hold 100+ double sleeved cards, really good latches, TOUGH AS NAILS (because it was meant to hold nails and such)... yeah.

    I personally don’t care what videos you make. I usually watch them all eventually. Lmao! I was tired from work. Even asked one job just to stay home today, because it didn’t look like they needed me today. Slept from 3am till 1pm, played some Arena and other game’s with friends, ate some left overs, and I’ve been at my other job since 6pm. I didn’t watch anybody else’s videos either. Oh, and also did some shopping on Amazon, because I’m a terrible human being that can’t just go across the street to get the things I need.

    Items I've bought on the Prof's recommendation, none of which have disappointed: The PirateLab Messenger Bag, the Dragon Shield 12 Pocket Codex, Ultimate Guard Arkhive (x2), and I just ordered the Gamegenic Dungeon for my bro for Xmas (one of the last on the internet, apparently). I'm sure bro won't be let down either by this man's fantastic taste and reviews.
