    I recently got the street bike urge again. I go through different life stages and want different things. Been street riding 30 years plus offroad/motocross 43 years and worked at multiple motorcycle dealerships. Even work at Ducati here at downtown Dallas.
    Wanted to try the new 2022 Aprilia RS660 and more upright Touno 660. Went and looked Aug 2022 few days ago. Didn't like how they felt, both for different reasons and appears reliability low. Overall feel for the Touno was off with wide tank and bars. RS660 still to much sport bike lean and sport bikes require lifting leg to high to avoid hitting passanger seat or the 250.00 painted seat cowl.
    Then I remembered my time at Ducati. The Ducati motors are a joy with low-end torque plus the grunt/rumble sound. Opposite from an Yamaha R6 I owned or numerous /countless other brands.
    I was always surprised by the experience when I rode a ducati street bike from the monster, hypermotard, diavel, miltistrada, or panigale.
    Primary reason I think I'm going with a 2020 821 monster is they are different and they have a unique look but my big decision is based off rider position. I am 52 yo and just don't want to ride tall, wide, leaned forward with legs bent back now.
    If I can make the numbers work with my budget/finances I will be going 1 to 2 year old Ducati Monster. There's just something different and more pleasing about Italian vehicles compared to the Asian counterparts. Downside more cost but typically higher resale if you treat your toy well and keep everything fresh. And these monsters can easily do track days where skilled racers/track riders can smoke guys on R1, gsxr and ZX Supersport motorcycles!

    Turn indicators are an eye sore. Hopefully we get some aftermarkets ones, doesn’t necessarily have to be sequential, but form fitting like the EU version would be great.

    Some Ducati photos show the front turn signals integrated into the frame, but all the videos I've seen show traditional external LED turn signals sticking out the sides. Looks like they couldn't get those frame mounted LED's by the DOT?

    I got the dealer to fit an ohlins steering damper to mine and it 100% sorts out the highway stability issue. Mind you you have to have the damper set to a fairly strong setting. It really makes this bike fun to ride long distances and its an item that should be fitted as standard as in my view the bike is dangerous without it.

  • @pimpthyride

    My main issue with the Monster 937 is the petrol tank size, one or two liters more would be good. For the suspension upgrade you can get the SP version (my next issue).

      @ericchurch1420 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any other Monster: No. The 937 is light enough and if you keep it on the low power setting it honestly wouldn’t make a bad first bike. If you don’t mind the idea of dropping a 13K bike while you’re learning 😅

    Thanks for an informative and well produced video. I'm 5'10" as well, and it looks like you flatfooted it pretty easily. My Ducati is waiting for me in Europe, so I get the groovy turn signals, but curious as to what aftermarket exhausts will be available there- I hear they are a little touchier about that stuff.

    • @marcsiry

      @@ThePowerMoves LOVE it, perfect bike for both scooting around Madrid and low enough for easy/on/off, as I predicted. Still miss the linear feeling of my Tiger with the triple engine, but once I got used to the idea that the roughness is part of the charm, I'm much better with the motor. I am having minor fantasies of fabricating a Givi attachment plate to take the place of my rear cowl, as I would love a very small hard topcase (like a Givi 19L) but if I say anything like that on the Monster boards I get a lot of hate. I don't care if it looks like ass, I just want to carry some gear around securely!

      @marcsiry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePowerMoves I see both your replies…it does warm up, but here in Spain we can lane split so I don’t really sit in traffic with it. Out on the backroads it’s not a problem at all, I ride with my knees slight pointed out anyway (and I wear riding pants) so they are not right up against the bike.

    If you're riding to hear noise, you're doing it wrong.
    Turn signals aren't there to look invisible. They're there to allow surrounding traffic to know what you're doing so you don't end up a hood ornament. Quit being so vain. Dying young with a great looking corpse ain't all it's cracked up to be.
