Honestly, the fallout 76 community was without new players for so long that we are much more welcoming that other online rpgs merely because we don't like people leaving, or having a bad experience. Todd Howard might as well put a donation box next to the 76 entrance because we all drop nuka, rad away,rad x, stimpaks, and outfits there for new people. It's just a thing we all do.
So the part where the guy wandered into a Shakespeare play, realized what was happening and went and sat in the audience made me laugh. Creative people are awesome man.
The Postman (1997) is an example on how theatre is essential, in the post-apocalyptic world, when there's no other entertainment and few books around. Long movie but worth the watch if you're into the Fallout lifestyle

I'm always running down noobs fresh out of 76 with stacks of plans & recipes. Every two or three weeks, I'll take what I've stashed & find some lvl3 who hasn't even made it to the Wayward & bestow upon them my hoarded knowledge.
Hardcore 76 player here. Been playing since launch. There's been ups and downs but I've 100% enjoyed the journey. Def my favorite game. Love this video!
I'm surprised you did so much research into legacies and didn't come across duping... Legacies are more prevalent now than they ever were before. Back in the days of nuking the Whitesprings to farm ghouls and early SBQ fights you almost never saw them, but these days if you go to any public event you're almost guaranteed to see at least one if not more in action.

I did come across duping and I did initially have it as a line of questioning, but ultimately I wanted to tell people stories and not focus too much on exploits and the nitty gritty of the game's system. The Legacy weapons was a jumping off point to introduce characters. I hope that explains it and I hope you enjoyed the video otherwise. - Dale.
Regular Tesla rifles solve that problem. The only other problem you would have to deal with is just where to position yourself, in which just comes down to knowing the event.
The expectations are so low for people because of the bad rep this game got out of the gate, that people are blown away when they finally give it a chance and see how far it's come.

As someone who’s been here since the beta nearing 4K hours I’ve gotta say legacy weapons are absolutely annoying and need to be balanced because they ruin the game. And no they are not RARE they are so common because of dupers they are everywhere
If you can't beat them, join them lol. It's still a great community nonetheless. I've dropped countless legacy weapons on people(for free) because 1. I was not using them and 2. We got along so great.
This was amazing! A heart touching documentary into the wonders that online communities can become! This was phenomenal ,and would watch more! THIS is what the next step of video game journalism is!
The initial scene where they mention Eatt 76 with people from different parts of the FO76 community, from traders to roleplayers, to the Shakespeare troupe all talking about them makes FO76 community feel alive and active
As a die-hard Fallout fan and theatre fan, 17:53 blew my mind! Of course theatre would survive in a time when humanity is trying to reclaim our culture. Not to mention how perfectly it fits with a universe where a whole gang dresses up like Elvis and imitates him!
Yeah! The guy that said that "it doesn't fit" has no idea what they're talking about. Fallout is not only about being in a post apocalyptic America, is also about zany atomic punk culture, so yeah, a bunch of theatre kids reenacting plays on the wasteland fits perfectly.
@@alexeigoldschmith look him up on youtube, he's a pretty popular fallout youtuber,, his content is okay-ish though at one point it's gotten rly repetitive and a lot of his videos these days are rly boring and it's just 1-2 minutes about some unimportant and uninteresting facts that everyone knows already. and besides that he's just known to be mad or start trouble or arguments over things that are just as boring and unimportant or with even less meaning than most of his videos. and yea you can see here that he's being mad about how it's lore breaking it is when people in fallout 76,,do what they want? :o it's almost like fallout is and always has been a sandbox role playing game, especially fallout 76 being online and all, and as the author of this comment said if a whole tribe decides to throw away their tribal identity and ways to become elvis impersonators then nearly anything can fit into the wacky lore and world of fallout ^^

How do you do an interview with Bethesda devs about legacy weapons but not even mention that 90% of them are duped? Dupers and rmt traders seem to be protected and this is why so many people suspect that it is actually Bethesda employee's doing this. How else is it still happening 4 years later and nobody even questions Bethesda devs about it?
Been playing since release all the hate is just bratty child mentality 🤣 look at it how it is, it's the 1st in the story line so if you played since the start ya get the whole experience from no NPC's to them moving in, having it like a real waste land an it build up was amazing 👌 it's a fallout game it's Gona have bugs and it's Gona crash 🤣 best thing you don't loose hours of gameplay when it fuks up due to saves
So glad to see this sorta thing get attention it deserves. No other dev has put the effort into saving a game over such a small community of members and it shows its worth it in the end. anyone else would of just tried to sweep it under the rug and shut off servers but thankfully bethesda cares and wanted to make things right.
Console players keep throwing a git about it because "We dont want hacked weapons in our community" when in reality no one is forcing them to pick up any item that isnt genuine. Even so they could just make it an option for those who want to stick to console servers.
I'm still playing. Bought it the day it hit Steam. Played it for a few months until the whole players pickpocketing other players drama hit its peak & took some time off until Wastelanders dropped.
Legacy weapons are duplicated and sold on ebay and other market places in mass amounts, they aren't rare. They are way OP and ruin the fun for most new players... unless they buy one themselves. One would think this information would be included in a documentary instead of the comment itself being deleted, which this probably will be.

@@IGN Then maybe you should've nixed that section entirely. Legacies (specifically explosive energy weapons) are a *VERY* sore point in the wider 76 community given the mass duping. That section making them out to be an extremely rare thing is almost like a bad paparazzi cover-up job.
the fact that developers are talking about how much the explosive energy weapons go for on ebay, tells me we will never see a balance. theyre seen as collectibles when really they dont make sense. imo energy weapons should shoot energy projectiles... but thats just me.

Sunk a lot of time into these games and consider them some of the best games made, but never tried '76 because of the bad start-up. But your effort has made we want to now get back in this world. Legacy weapons are the only thing that still ruins the game for me it just take the joy out of the game when u go to an event and everything dies as soon as it spawns
So we're going to just ignore duping and its impact on the legacy trading community? Surely your research wasn't so shallow that you missed this vital aspect of the black market? It's why real money trading is still very vibrant to this day. Legacies aren't hard to get so long as you're willing to spend real money on it. Once you realise this, it really brings into stark contrast as to why Bethesda has yet to do anything about these overpowered weapons that are no longer available to the "regular player". Makes you wonder why that is the case.
Its honestly my favorite fallout game now that it has a proper story. More enemy types, landscapes, and crazy scenarios then most games offer. The fun does start to wain once you've done almost everything but the time it takes to do so is pretty staggering. The base building and shop system are truly epic and every Halloween is an absolute blast to create a fun haunt for trick or treaters to entice them to your shop.
Why not mentioning of duping in the legacies section of the video? Bethesda should delete legacies out of the game and not balance the game around the existence of legacies.
repetitive things in fo76 are actually more fun to do than in rdo. the only reason rdo stay that long to me for almost a year because of its graphics & world design. but fo76, since 2019 q1 up to present, still playing. and many people are still playing
People can say what ever they want that's the beauty of the world you don't have to like what any one say's you need to grow a pair if you can't tolerate negative reviewing.
For all its gameplay faults and bumps, the community is awesome. To be fair, why do we higher-level players help new / lower-level players? It gets them hooked. Playing on an empty server is no fun.
Me and my mates play this game and we have put so much money into the game and love it. Well legacys are actually going now because it is in pts. My mate has put so much time and money into his camp. He has a doll house, spaceship and other camps
20:30 considering all the bizarre and weird stuff that has happened if the Fallout Universe, including the originals, a bunch of settlers creating a theatre company sounds like something that you could actually stumble upon in any of the single player games.
Unless you're going on with a group of friends to... Nevermind it's pretty bad. Basically anyone wasting their money and time on this either don't have a life or they're seriously playing with very few brain cells.
The people and legacy’s/godrolls are what make the game so special 💖 this was a great video, a lot of people don’t know where legacy’s came from or how many there really are out there “there a lot” !! 🤩 and it’s the best on xbox 💜

Fascinating how such a hostile (and at times very dark) post apocalyptic survival environment that is the Fallout universe has garnered such a uniquely wholesome community to a point that they're collectively getting together for charity and helping people out IRL. Such a community is rather scarce in gaming these days so it's really nice to see!

The roleplay community of 76 is great, and it's probably the main thing that keeps me playing. Imagine playing DnD, but in Fallout.

The biggest mistake they made with 76 was using a nine year old engine that had only ever been used for singleplayer offline games.
Still? It's been consistently popular ever since they fixed a ton of stuff a long time ago. What a weird title.

Its honestly my favorite fallout game now that it has a proper story. More enemy types, landscapes, and crazy scenarios then most games offer. The fun does start to wain once you've done almost everything but the time it takes to do so is pretty staggering. The base building and shop system are truly epic and every Halloween is an absolute blast to create a fun haunt for trick or treaters to entice them to your shop.

With all the updates making the game more intricate, an optimization update is highly necessary. It needs more polish on a performance level.
Why not mentioning of duping in the legacies section of the video? Bethesda should delete legacies out of the game and not balance the game around the existence of legacies.
Had some friendly experiences with strangers in this game, oddly fun lol
repetitive things in fo76 are actually more fun to do than in rdo. the only reason rdo stay that long to me for almost a year because of its graphics & world design. but fo76, since 2019 q1 up to present, still playing. and many people are still playing
If you don't like Fallout76, don't play. Just quit bashing it.
People can say what ever they want that's the beauty of the world you don't have to like what any one say's you need to grow a pair if you can't tolerate negative reviewing.

For all its gameplay faults and bumps, the community is awesome. To be fair, why do we higher-level players help new / lower-level players? It gets them hooked. Playing on an empty server is no fun.

Me and my mates play this game and we have put so much money into the game and love it. Well legacys are actually going now because it is in pts. My mate has put so much time and money into his camp. He has a doll house, spaceship and other camps

It was unplayable on older gen consoles it almost still is it's so laggy on ps4 it's insane.

The people and legacy’s/godrolls are what make the game so special 💖 this was a great video, a lot of people don’t know where legacy’s came from or how many there really are out there “there a lot” !! 🤩 and it’s the best on xbox 💜

Wastelanders was a turning point and really did make the game so much better and more playable.
Just gotta say probably the best fallout gameplay and community wise. Got like 2k hours in this game since wastelanders. Don’t need no mods to make this game a fun experience *cough* *cough* new Vegas,3, and 4 😅

Fascinating how such a hostile (and at times very dark) post apocalyptic survival environment that is the Fallout universe has garnered such a uniquely wholesome community to a point that they're collectively getting together for charity and helping people out IRL. Such a community is rather scarce in gaming these days so it's really nice to see!

Played since beta, it wasn’t the best but it’s improved so much and still love the game 4000+ hours and still going.
im almost lvl 500 in game. and just about learned that people drop stuff in chest at The trainstations and stuff. u learn stuff everyday
