    Damn..... Stock engine with just 4-2-1 header and exhaust...... Sounds like there's more to it than that

    What’s your setup on the first exhaust?

      PLM 4-2-1 (TODA style) header with 2.5" collector. CAT delete. TSUDO Catback also 2.5" inlet piping. TSUDO is an old school "ebay brand" that were surprisingly well made. Friend of mine actually gave me the Catback free. You can sometimes find them around for like $200. Good fitment and quality. I'd use them over Yonaka or any other budget exhaust.

    what’s the second exhaust set up you have?

      PLM Header (Toda style 4-2-1) 2.5" collector, PLM test pipe, I used the TSUDO mid pipe, and Spoon N1 axleback. I know that sounds like a lot, but basically if you ran an aftermarket PLM or 1320 or similar header with a cat delete and 2.5" piping with the Spoon axleback you'll get a really similar tone. My friend ran the Spoon axleback on his OEM GSR with a bone stock exhaust and cat and it still sounded amazing. He actually sold it, because his wife said it was "too loud."

      I posted another video after this of my current setup. Still the PLM header and test pipe, but with the Apexi N1 catback. It's my favorite sound yet. And I will be swapping to a JDM 98 spec ITR header soon which is a 4-1 long header.

    What rpm?

    • @WalterRitchey
      @WalterRitchey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Few revs at each (roughly): 3500, 4500, then 7000.
      You can hear the first cam break into vtec a little at 4500 and then both cams in vtec on the final higher revs.

    Great sound… but I have a hard time justifying a 550 muffler when you can get that same sound with a cat delete straight pipe and a cherry bomb for way cheaper.

      I have a friend with a straight piped Integra racecar and I've run a few setups on my Integra in the past. None have this sound. My friend ran this on a bone stock GSR and it sounded unlike anything I'd heard on a Honda before.
      That said, I agree that prices are ridiculous. Hopefully this clip will help people decide if it's worth it or not for them.
      I'm a huge fan of Apexi N1 for a weekend or track car and WS2 for a daily or street car. For the money, Apexi has a good balance of sound and style.

      I hear what you’re saying but when you’re a Honda enthusiast OEM real deal rare Japanese parts are the way to go it’s like drinking
      Dr Pepper over Dr thunder.
