+EXO Princee makes me laugh when I see things like this. the b18 is not a stock engine for a honda civic. If you researched ANYTHING you would come to the conclusion that the b18 is an acura integra swap... and scene as though that is a civic, wouldn't that already have an engine swap? LOL
+Cameron Bechtel you have different b18's dude. the ls b18 is non vtec while the gsr is. the gsr and type r where the only vtec b18 integras.the 92 integra only had vtech on the 92 gsr which cam with a b17 and all other motors were b18 non vtec. when the 3rd gen came out only the gsr and limited had vtec. not to sure on the limited. h22 in the prelude did not have vtec except for one model civics of similar year had b16 vtec on si models only. so vtec was not on all b series motors and definitely not all b18's
Nice set up bro don't worry about the haters haters will hate the funny thing is HALF of these haters don't even have a car or can afford this simple set up HONDA LIFE
good shit! my d16z6 build is nearing completion finally. got the block back from the shop the other day, honed and surfaced. i get the head back tomorrow. then its reassembly/install and tune. at 6 PSI it was about as fast as my stage 3 evo x. its gonna be a monster at 15-20 PSI
300 hp is the perfect amount of hp for any car. It's the medium horsepower that you would need to consider "fast". And you're right but also think about how light the car is. Horsepower truly means something when weight and ratio comes along.
You have no idea how many times I have watched this video ! Please !! make more vids like this of this car lol The camera and angle is soo perfect and out of all TH-cam no videos to a justice of how a turbo honda sounds and you my friend have proven that wrong .. Defenititly subscribing !
at the beginning which ole skool rap song is this ? i vaguely remember it from back in the day. i had the same turbo on a fat ole sedan teg ls . yeah its way big but when it hooks, i know its not all efficient but wow, when its spooling after 5k , gotta love it. track king with slicks.
People redline them for a reason. Im assuming you've never driven a high powered FWD. just listen to the audio. Yoh can hear the engine bogging so hard after each gear.
+aiGeis he never said anything about mpg he was talking about strain on the engine. What you stated is partially correct how a smaller fast spooling turbo will help with mpg just like they do with the vtec-e in the hx models of civics. Instead of the vtec kicking in at 5500, the vtec kicks in early at around 2-3000rpm because the vtec-e is a fuel efficient motor. Its the same concept as what your talking about but the problem with that is it is more stress on the motor when your always in vtec or in your case always spooled up and boosting and its less strain when the vtec is set at 5500 or you use a big turbo so that you only use the turbo when you need to.
Skullbasher...I agree with what u said 100%. I'll be doing rod n piston soon and cranking up the boost ..so I'm basically gonno grow in to the 6262 ..thanks for ur input though
Cool setup but makes power a little too late for my tastes in a street car. Any particular reason you went with such a fairly large compressor on a basic LS? I would imagine something more like a 54-57 trim t3/t4 hybrid or something in the GT28xx family would offer a much broader power curve and probably be a good bit quicker overall. Not trying to knock you for using what you got, but we generally use the PTE 6262 on Evos, Hondas etc when shooting for 450+ HP
Because why not!? Leaves room for the future if he builds a "short block" on the side lmfao personally I would've slapped a eBay 200 dollar gt35 on that bad boy 🔥💪

a mate of mine said for me to buy a b18b with b20 comp cams and b18c7 pistons and turbo it and he said itll give the vtecs a run for their money and this is evident enough
not bad for LS.. But I do want to note I made 302whp on a stock gsr @ 9psi on a babydick t3/t04e 57trim.. vtec power :).... all joking aside.. really nice car man
DAMN Bro!!.. Beastly!!.. Love how you the staging's set!! Is it just from fluke of luck choice of compressor turbine diameter, and the inlet / exhaust turbine?? Or are you staging the boost pressure by gear, or rpm band through a controller?
Is that running stock internals? I've heard that it is only good to push around 8 psi of boost on stock B18 internals if you want it to be daily drivable still. Correct me if I'm wrong.
For street builds we sometimes use a larger compressor than necessary for power goals because it takes a bit longer to come into boost, and that will enable a daily driven car to cruise around town and to the store without having to pull into boost all day long. Also, instant TQ production is what actually breaks parts, so a larger somewhat laggy turbo will put less strain on the engine than a smaller fast spoiling unit.
aiGeis what makes you think his information is not correct ? He is absolutely right on every point he made. One thing he forgot to mention is 10 psi on that large turbo pushes alot cooler air than a small turbo that has to work harder .
whambodius I'll sum it up like this; the whole thing about using larger turbos that spool slower and thus give you more mpg is as much of a myth that shaving a beard makes the hair grow back thicker, it just simply IS NOT true. Look at ford's ecoboost engines, they use SMALL turbos that spool QUICKLY so they can produce more low end torque on smaller engines using LESS throttle to get the car moving. This results in better fuel economy while using a larger laggier turbo makes the engine work harder and doesn't allow the expulsion of exhaust to be as efficient when not in boost. This means while in lower rpms your engine is working harder then it would be without a huge turbo restricting exhaust flow, and thus gives you less mpgs (ask anyone reputable person with knowledge and experience in turbocharging if you don't believe me/can't use your brain). Furthermore, his last sentence contradicts itself 'instant tq production is what breaks parts' 'somewhat laggier turbo will put less strain' Like wtf? How are you so moronic to actually believe this bullshit. THE LARGER TURBO IS WHAT GIVES YOU INSTANT TQ, YOU HIT WHERE THE BOOST THRESHOLD IS AND THEN BAM! You have maximum torque within 1000rpms or so (seriously watch this video this all so obvious) and if anything this put's more strain on the engine especially since you're having to rev it so high just to make torque whatsoever. Either way, lame ass information needs to stop spreading like cancer, maybe if more people would just use their heads or actually RESEARCH they would realize the blatant lies they've been told and make altogether better builds.
its a b18, but even if it was a b20, torque is irrelevant in a four cylinder engine. power to weight ratio in hondas, horsepower numbers are where its at
I have a build, going for around 350/400 whp, wondering if my ls tranny would be a better choice then my b16 type r Going to be a street car & the Occasional dragstrip
No offense but do you truly make that on 10psi? I have a fully built LS with a 6270 and I made 300, 253 on 10 Psi if you're a stock LS I couldn't see you making that much power maybe 250 at most because I put down almost a little over 550 on 30lbs
This is honestly my favorite video of a turbo b series even now man. Kicks the ahit outta the sound of a k
It sounds good, but the K series is another story...
+Ev Jonik sorry but this turbo on a k and your talking almost 500whp on a stock motor

@@grosano95 Most K series cars sound ricey AF bruh.. Also too high pitched for me tbh.. B series or primarily H/F series sound the best in my opinion

Its tuned on Neptune...so far so good for a stock bottom end and 311whp
Very nice man! Gives me motivation to build a ls turbo.
10 years ago and appears to be soflo but it’s definitely Florida idk where, fucking love this
