While there may be certain strong themes, I share whatever I find inspirational at the time. Above that, I want my videos to provide some helpful information to you. I understand your time is valuable. So whether it is helping you make a better informed purchase decision for a chainsaw, handgun, or something else I hope that you'll find my content entertaining and informative.
I changed my mind about the VP9
I was a VP9 hater for a long time, but now I've changed my mind. This model has been out for awhile now, so we won't get too much into specs, however we will compare it to the P30 series a little bit and talk about what this design shares and what makes the VP9 a good shooter and a great value in the current market.

HK CC9 - 600rd Review - No Compromise Micro-Compact

Nearly every video of the new CC9 feels like an advertisement. Want to see what it’s really like? I managed to pick up a low serial number for myself and there are a lot of things to like as well as some minor concerns that may or may not be bad luck. You can read the specs online. I’m here to tell you what I think and test reliability and function to 600rd total fired. TL;DR I sold my P30SK an...
Refined or Ruined? FN’s New High Power

When you think of the most iconic handguns of all time you probably think of the 1911, Hi-Power, PPK, 92fs, etc. After FN ended production of the Hi-Power, Turkish manufacturers were among the first to begin cloning it. Finally, FN announced the… High Power. While it looks very similar at a glance, it is in fact, an entirely new design. Is this a bad thing? Does this firearm stand on its own? I...

I’m running my 661-cm with a28’ bar and a1,3 pico chain and it runs so easy in the oversized timber, a shorter bar than 28 would make the saw go over the rpm limit. It’s a beauty for cutting through the big logs. I do use a smaller saw to de-limb the threes, the heavy 661 and a28’ bar isn’t good for that and the chain de-rails easily in that type of operation.
My only gripe is that the mag release is too small. It should be a bit bigger.
A better grip.......I'm an instrutor.... no charge.
I'm still looking to do better than the 365 xl.Not many rds,but 0 malfunctions,i don't like the lack of smooth design. But it would take a lot for me to buy something new in this economy.
They’re pricey, but if you have the need for a micro compact this is an excellent option for sure. I poke fun at the Sig stuff. It took them awhile to work out all the kinks, but their current production P365 models are great.
Maybe you should try 5 yards 😜

cant believe this channel only has 1K subs, deserves way more! great video!
Thank you!! I’m always trying to improve and think of content that’s helpful and not just what everyone else is doing.
I think you need to check fuel mix ratio? 40- 1. If I'm not mistaken.. over time you'll scorch your piston
Great gun, I got mine right when they came out. Hated paying Msrp but worth it. It has been 100% reliable and great HK quality, hoping they flood the market and I can pickup another cheap, and maybe they’ll make different grip modules with paddle over time. All and all very happy with this HK
A paddle module would be amazing. I agree though. My VP9 is my only other striker gun and I shoot this smaller one better! They did some space magic with the engineering.
Cant find it being sold anywhere. Links?
grovegunshop.com/product-details?id=91178566 Here’s one I found. Mine was purchased through a seller on gunbroker. You can also try searching for the model number: Benelli 11714. I actually saw a black one and H20 model of this at Titanhill Armory in Washington, MO. You could give them a call too and ask them to ship to your FFL.
Thanks. Im sold. Too bad you cant get the $% for promoting.@@WalterRitchey
Yes
You are still shooting left. Here is my suggestions. #1 don't deathgrip your firing hand (in your case right hand) just keep a firm grip, if you deathgrip your firing hand, any movement of your trigger finger will push the handgun to your left. (Finger to Trigger placement will depend on comfort and how the firearm fits your hand. Period) #2 Your left thumb should be place along the side of the frame just below the slide acting as lateral support. Your right thumb should be placed over the topside of your left wrist and along side where your V3 decocker lever would be.( your right thumb should not be under your left palm, your right thumb should be able to manipulate your decocker lever freely). #3 Your four fingers on your left hand should be wrapped around the right three fingers on the handgrip. Remembering to keep your right hand firm and not a deathgrip, now vice down on your left hands four fingers. This along with your left thumb will allow you to keep a firm grip and prevent unwanted lateral movement on the pistol and be able to manage recoil. #4 Your trigger pull should be smooth and consistent. Speed will come once you get your technique down. Trust me on this. You should see your shooting improve and not see so many hits low and left.
Thanks for the feedback! I took a screenshot to remember these tips for later. I feel I have improved a lot since this video, but I do still get comments on limp wrist sometime. I’m probably gripping too tight and milking even with my right hand while not doing enough of a vice with my support hand. Handguns are definitely the most challenging firearm to master, but I’ve always enjoyed them the most.
Thanks for the tip. I am also shooting left.
Proprietary equals stupid
Awesome content! I’m subscribed to too many TH-cam channels in my opinion but I subscribed to your channel because of the content and I also noticed you have a lot of unwarranted haters so I said I’ll be one of your supporters
Thank you! Sometimes the haters have good advice with poor presentation, so I take what I can from whatever feedback I get. Appreciate the support and hope you find my videos helpful in some way!
Does it look like it’s difficult to inset the mag?
Fully loaded on a closed chamber is a little tight, but not abnormally so. Only complaint about the magazines is how stiff they are to load especially when new! Use a mag loader to help save your thumbs.
I love my P2000, but the trigger seem like it’s not for me. I will change out the trigger. Tks for the video.
The P2000 and P30 have a very similar trigger. I would try the Gray Guns short reset, but don’t use the springs, just the actual part for the reset. See if that does the trick for you! I still prefer a stock USP or similar trigger over the P30 whether it’s stock or modified, but the reset kit makes it similar enough that it’s not too big of a training issue. I would advise against using the flat face trigger unless all your other handguns also have flat face triggers, because that part really threw me off.
The good quality 1911s start from $1,500. The cheaper ones will always have problems. 1911 is a full steel gun, requiring precise fit and finish. I own Dan Wessons, Buls and Staccatos. I cannot remember any quality issues. There are numerous crappy plastic strikers on the market as well. HK is a quality gun manufacturer unlike Tisas. Do not trust gun reviewers who are saying that 500 dollar gun is the same as 2000 dollar gun.
If you liked the VP9 your going to love the VP9SK. Its better balanced. Also id love to see CC9 followup video and some sort of comparison. 😊
The VP9SK is sooo accurate it has no business shooting so well for how small it is! I actually sold mine though as soon as the CC9 came out. I was lucky to get one about a month after they came out and I have a video on it! I didn’t really compare it to the VP9 though. The CC9 is much thinner than the VP9 and doesn’t feel like it’s formed to the inside of your hand like the VP9/P30, but it fits my hand much better than I expected for a gun its size and I love how it shoots. The trigger is really good!
@WalterRitchey that's awesome! I was lucky to get a CC9 from buds guns when it came out but i didn't get much time with it because i had to sent it back to HK USA for a cosmetic issue on my slide. It had "stained" fingerprints on the slide which was a bit concerning but when it comes back i hope it shoots as good as my vp9sk's. I love my vp9sk's (I have 2) and I'm just baffled why "guntubers" aren't ranking that pistol higher.
@ that’s so interesting!! I also had my slide replaced under warranty. Mine had “mottling” on the engravings. The HK and CC9 Lettering on both sides was all uneven like the finish was damaged or didn’t adhere correctly there. New slide looks great though.
@WalterRitchey yes interesting... i have detailed photos of mine. I hated sending it back to HK but I was so disappointed. With all the testing and time they had my slide had fingerprints. I took it to a HK armorer I knew and he recommend I send it back. I felt bad about being so petty but im a HK fanboy and I've never seen that before. I worked with a guy named joe at HK and he was great but im a bit concerned. Not selling any vp9sks yet. I can send you my photos if you want.
nice
And here I thought red dots were actually just a pointy blurry mess instead of a dot 😂 Thanks for helping me understand why I thought red dots are stupider than most people do.
Nice to hear someone admit practice over parts and the factory stuff is good for most. I’m not knocking grayguns
Eotech is king
I’m a big fan. One of the least expensive optics that’s in use by our military. For what you save on other options without that proven reliability it makes the Eotech worth it every time. I plan on picking up one of their Vudu scopes soon too!
Great information. Thank you for your honest review.
My guess is that the super small micro compact guns are going to phase out within the next 1or 2 years. They’ll still be available but the popularity will drop drastically. I believe that people will go back to mid-size (regular) handguns that are easy to get a full finger grip on. Watch and see if I know what I’m talking about.
I’m not sure about that. I remember when people still carried the Glock 26 and then the 42/43 came out. No one wants to carry a thick chunky gun if something thinner is available that shoots as good and doesn’t cost a lot of capacity. This CC9 holds 12rd where my much larger P30SK and VP9SK had flush 10rd and extended 13rd magazines. No way that I’d ever take one of those over a CC9 and believe it or not I shoot the CC9 better than either of those too. That’s the key, is shoot ability. I’ve since gotten rid of all my SK models and just kept this and my full size models.
Excellent review. Appreciate the honest info. Thank you
With drone warfare increasing, everyone needs these. Stockpile ammo!
And nets!
Don"t think i would ever put that many rounds through a gun unless TSHTF. unless it's my small game hunting fire arms . Grown up poor in the Appalachian mountains 1 shot 1 kill . 99.9% head shots no meat damage. So i guess i will never brake in any defense fire arms. Once shot in we only we had 3 shots ever year for are deer rifles to make sure they still was good to go.Still to this day i am that way.if you can hit with 1 you don"t care to wast ammo. Hillbilly proud. LOL
That works fine as long as you know the firearm works! You should never buy a gun and carry it without testing it using the ammo you intend to use with the gun. I realize not everyone will buy this gun and immediately put 500rd through it - which is why I did! Hopefully this gives you the confident to buy and carry the gun knowing it will be reliable. I have bought other guns that needed to go back to the manufacturer or go to the gunsmith one or more times to make them reliable. You never would know that without testing it though.
Clean, Lube, Seat ammo in the back of the magazine? That's pretty standard procedure even though some youngsters like to try it out of the box and never clean/lube.
I made a part 2 after sending it back to PSA. They said the magazine follower was binding up and replaced the magazine. I shot a couple hundred more rounds after and only had 2 or 3 malfunctions.
I'm also wishing for HK USA to give us the G36. I agree about the Taurus G3c, very uncomfortable, but it's useable with the Hogue sleeve. I'm planning to upgrade to the CC9.
This is an underrated great review. Very honest with both the pros and the cons. I just picked up a CC9 myself and had some of the same initial issues/concerns (eg stiff slide catch/release, breaking it in, getting used to the recoil). That said, the quality is clearly there. The finish, ergos, and tolerances are excellent, and the accuracy is 100% there-once you get things down.
No gogles??
Please set a good example by wearing eye protection.
You’re right, I typically do and I did when first trying it out. I had enough trust in after the first few hundred rounds that I didn’t wear them that day, but I should have.
Dude get a life, he aint harming anyone.
Just found your channel. Great review. I might have to look at the CC9.
Complaints. No paddle mag release as was show to us with one during development. Its price tag. We seem to be paying a German made premium for a USA built/ made firearm.
I would love to see the paddle. If they ever did a frame update or option I would want it.
Sounds like you need a MagLula.
One other guy suggested this too! Definitely ordering one lol
THANKS
How is the guy who doesn’t have basic fundamentals down like grip, talking trash about other guntubers. Man, if you have to readjust your grip after every shot, I don’t think you can talk shit about anyone else and how they evaluate guns lol. I’m amazed. There are some really good reviewers who are great shooters that need to purchase every gun they review, but it seems like HK sent the cc9 to this guy for T&E. He makes the gun look like it has the energy of a .357 magnum and makes it look like it’s horribly inaccurate at the same time. Not a good look for HK IMO.
HK has never sent me anything free outside of a few logo stickers when I buy from their webshop. As I stated in the video, I purchased this CC9 from Scheels for $599, one of the few with these in stock and not over MSRP. I’ve probably shot less than 10,000 rounds through any gun. Ever. Some guys have more than that on a single firearm. I am not claiming to be an expert. I am claiming to be your average consumer that happens to have an infinity for firearms especially German ones. I share my experiences, because they may not differ from your own if you were to purchase this firearm. Hopefully I can provide even a single piece of useful information to you to help you make your purchasing decision! I would not spend all the time and money on these videos if I didn’t think they could help someone in some way. Appreciate your time for watching.
@ great response, nice to see the humble attitude. I had you pegged wrong, it just seemed a bit over the top with the criticism of the other content creators.
@@JimSkeltonKnives that’s my bad, the guys that covered this are still guys I watch and respect. Really it’s more of the way the industry has become in general. Everything feels like a commercial and everyone is afraid to admit to any negatives out of risk of losing a sponsor. But while I have room to improve, trust me when I say this little guy shoots better than some of the other HK’s out there such as my P30 which is a bigger grip and longer barrel. Muzzle flip will happen, but that’s expected with a barrel this short. My only gripe was mine had a damaged slide from the factory, but they replaced it under warranty and paid shipping both ways, so I’m content.
Every day i wish i could go without my lenses. I'm extremely myopic (near sighted) and have moderate astigmatism. Even with my lenses I get pretty significant flaring from light sources even if they're well diffused. The army using it's Aimpoint red dots makes my time on the qual range iffy at best once I'm past 200 meters. I can drill everyrhing else no problem but I find I'm not very precise out to 300 meters. I finally have gotten to a company that provides the majority of the company with acogs, but it's frustrating because my former commanders wouldn't let us use our own optics. So I was just running around with hopes and dreams lol
Tisas has poor quality control. It’s the luck of the draw. My extractor was so tight it couldn’t possibly work. And such an easy thing to check and fix once I learned how.
Also I ordered the Custom Solace IWB Holster from Gunfighters Inc. and believe it will be a solid comfortable holster for the CC9. It's fully customizable. I'm pairing this with the Hunter Constantine Carry Belt.
That holster looks really nice! I’m going to bookmark it to try in case I need another option. I ordered the two HK had on their webshop at launch.
@@WalterRitcheyjust got delivered and it’s very nice. Super comfortable. Should have the cc9 in a week or 2 and will revert with feedback.
I have one on order as my first EDC. I know there's tons of other trusted proven Sub/Micro-compacts but I really like this piece and it's hard to pass up on an H&K. I tried very hard to like the P365X and I just couldnt. Trigger pull is too long, it's too snappy, and I just didnt like it. The other contender was the S&W MP. Very excited to get my hands on this soon. I have a Upula reloader to help with the stiff mags. Thanks for the solid review.
Did you try the trigger on this one before you ordered it?
A short barreled tiny gun like this is always going to be somewhat snappy. You're accepting that tradeoff for portability. And frankly, in a self defense situation your target is going to be less than 10 feet away 99% of the time. So it shouldn't take much training at all to be able to shoot quickly in a tight enough group at that distance.
It sounds pretty loud tbh
It’s loud in person too. I can’t believe the price they sell these for. Think in 2025 I’m going to get a CAT. They have the WB and are adding 3 more models for 556 next year.
Great review! Wish I could find one in stock somewhere 😢
I’m not sure if they still have them, but so got mine from Scheels! No one else had them or were price gouging. I paid 599. Called the store and they shipped to my FFL.
@@WalterRitchey None at Scheels.
@ dang you’re right. I just looked and they’re showing out at all locations. But when they had them, they weren’t price gouging. So hopefully soon they have more!
I’ve only ran 115 grain, 90 grain, and 50 grain and has not had any malfunctions.
First time I encountered this was a P30L. It would frequently stove pipe with 115gr. HK customer support tells people to use 124gr and I never had an issue since. Now I buy 124gr exclusively. If the numerous “Guntubers” failures somehow weren’t caused by the 115gr that would be bad news, as it would mean there are CC9 out there with other issues…. I also have tested various hollow points including the Sierra high velocity 65gr 9mm which was the first and only time I’ve gotten a squib in a HK. It happened on the 2nd round I fired. Therefore, I do not use anything less than 125gr now. Very interesting you have tried other lighter loads with success. I’m just afraid of another squib so I don’t chance it!
@ I had this issue with my staccato. It wouldn’t run any ammo under 100 grains. I tried running underwood ammo and liberty civil defense and it didn’t work. Once I stuck with mainly 124 grains and then 115 grains it works fine.
@ there’s a chance it could’ve just needed the hotter ammonia for break in - in the case of my P30L. Since it was a new gun. But I always am sketched out when guys review a gun hundreds or thousands of rounds and claim zero malfunctions at all. Especially depending on ammo used! Sig M18 ammo I think it’s called is a +P fmj so ideally I’ll run a box or two of that to help smooth a new gun out right out of the box.
I use an eotech on one setup and an lpvo on my dmr setup. I get astigmatism on any sort of light emitted optic, but I find it rather mild with eotechs. Honestly, I'd rather deal with astigmatism than dealing with eye relief.
I unfortunately have to deal with both! I bought a Nightforce NXS which was almost $1500 only to find the eye relief cranked all the way still didn’t give me proper eye relief. The reticle would wash out under some conditions. Nikon and some Leupold too. But Trijicon and this budget Vortex I picked up for a 22 are perfect! It’s crazy how much variability there is.
@WalterRitchey nice, I might check those out. Honestly I should be asking the guy at my LGS to look at how some optics work more often given our condition. I have a pile of shame going on for shit I bought but can't use lol
@ a great value would be the Gideon Advocate - I don’t think anyone in the comments has had an issue with prism optics so that might be worth a try! Primary Arms and ACOG would also be options. But I hope you find something that works and you like!
Need to change up your grip getting a lot of muzzle flip which could account for the jamming.
Man, The recoil from this video looks like he’s shooting a 45.. i’m going to still wait for the Hk FS9PCC that looks like a HK and should’ve been released here! not that thing
They confirmed that we’re not getting that one. If you’ve got experience it’s really not bad! Yes, there’s muzzle flip due to how small it is. That’s unavoidable. But it’s quick to get back on target and it’s accurate. For new shooters, I probably would recommend something bigger.
The muzzle flip has to do with the gentleman's abilities and technique.
You’re going to be waiting a long time as HK has repeatedly said the SP9CC is not going to be released in the U.S. In addition, if you’re so scared of the recoil of the HK CC9, a smaller SP9CC would recoil more 😂
@@chrisragone8785 if they repeatedly said it’s not gonna be released in the US that means they’re aware that there’s an overwhelming demand for it. It’s coming bro. Believe That! They just don’t wanna take a loss on this garbage they just released
Hi what specific model number is this and where did you buy it?
Model is Benelli 11732. Mine came from a seller on gunbroker. I would check gun.deals but some places will require an LE letter to buy. Others will not. It’s strange, but you CAN get them. Just keep checking. It’s worth it!
@ thanks I did get one last week. Will deliver in a day or so to my FFL.
@@MNKLJHBG awesome!! Enjoy it!
Get an Uplula to load the magazines. My CC9 magazines are easy to load now.
Thanks, I’ll check them out!
I sent two red dots back to the manufacturer back in 2011 before I realized I had astigmatism. They were understanding when I finally figured out the issue.
