Nice job sir! I couldn’t find the info on the Corsair forums because they were using the older version of iCUE. Thank you so much for the walk through!
Another reason to turn the rgb off in sleep mode is that rbg lights do have a lifespan. If you're someone who likes to buy quality and keep it, you could have the rgb burn out in 7 or 8 years if it's sitting there turned on 24/7 365.
Nice! This just worked for me you’re a lifesaver I was looking everywhere in my bios and couldn’t find the setting. Anyway thank you so much! Happy New year!
FINALLY as everyone says with the NEW Corsair app! Very odd interface to get to this work but it WORKED! I LOVE my Corsair RGB ram again! Thanks SO Much!
@@Gaida98 yep..thats how that works ...when icue goes off armoury creates starts to override ...ive liked the armoury create ...but it runs like 10+ services in the background in the task manager just for the rgbs so ive uninstalled everything including icue ..and downloaded signalrgb now i can control everything with that ...ram doesnt have those cool effects like in the icue..but at least now they are sync
Anyways I don't know EXACTLY what I've done lately but my RGB Fusion (Gigabyte) and ICUE are both working still...I have my ram doing the Rain Effect thing (one stick is raining down whilst the other is raining up bi-directional using ICUE for my Corsair Ram). Then my Coolermaster RGB fans are using the Fusion software to their own effects and everything shuts off when I turn off the PC and fires right back up upon boot. In the bedroom on the other gaming PC I am using ICUE again for the Corsair RGB ram and Asus Crate and albeit I give Fusions software a hands down win for the ability to turn do the RGB LED brightness (c'mon Asus get with it here) however I have a neat effect in which I've set the RBG's to that of a desktop color and when I fire up a game the color of the RGB's sync instantly to that the atmosphere in a scene to pick up the brightness and color where ever I am in game! Really Cool!
Thanks for the useful video! This question is of course for corsair, but I am asking myself whats the point for a 500MB software to run all the time if its needed only occasionally for changing the colors now and then. Especially for people having only the DIMM modules ...
Thank you so much easy to understand and follow along with. i was losing it cuz this is my first built pc and everything is confusing and new haha. could not understand why my ram was the only thing that wouldnt shut off thank you oml 😩
Perfect solution. Now if only I could figure out how to not need to press and hold the "reset/sync" button on my ebay RGB fans connected to my lighting node ran through iCue.
Omg, thank you so much! Interesting point: Actually I wan't able to find the brightness adjustment in my iCUE, there is only speed of colours to be changed. But it not a problem, as I was able to delete rgb profile itself! So after that it has nothing in terms of colours to display. Even when PC is in sleep mode! Thanx once more!
Still can’t get the power button to stop blinking! Even in your video it’s still on. It’s lighting up the whole room at night flashing white button really blows.
*Thanks for the help! BTW, just wondering if you have your RAM setup correctly.* 4:35 *The app is showing you have your RAM sticks slotted in side by side (Slot 3 and 4). I'm not sure if that's just the app displaying it like that or if you actually have the RAM sticks in that configuration. Most motherboards (I think you have a Tomahawk) run dual channel only if the RAM are in slots 2 and 4.*
How did you setup so your power switch put the pc to sleep instead of turning it off? I have the same case. Or is that a motherboard bios thing? Great video btw! Already fixed my RAM Rgb as well.
Just delete the profile for hardware on the 3 dots there will be nothing instead of black color same thing. But also now you have to run the app at all times during games and other heavy apps to get the lighting so this really isn't the workaround other than a temp one til they come out with a way to cute this issue finally and have the app closed and it set to the color you have for software then a sleep color mode.
My pc does not wake up from sleep unless I press the power button, I enabled mouse & keyboard to allow wake from sleep on device manager. A fix I found is to enable something in my bios wake up. But after enabling that if my pc is completely off, a slight shift of the mouse or accidental key press turns on the whole pc even after it’s shut down.. any recommendations?
@@TheRealFluffyPotatoes no, it’s a little annoying. It’s like if the pc is always in sleep mode even if it’s off. One slight button press or mouse movement and the pc turns on.
Thanks for video. It was quite helpful. Can I also point out that I think it would be better to move your PC a little further from the wall. There seems to be only an inch of space between the output fan. There’s enough space for airflow but I think it’s still kind of restrictive and decreases the cooling efficiency of your fan because the airflow will slow down when it hits wall and has to redirect to the sides. Having a few more inches would better I think
PLEASE RESPOND!! I can't figure out why, but my rgb doesn't turn back on when I click home. Is there something I am doing something wrong or is the software justr broken.
This worked for me for some time but now it stays on when in sleep. Still have the hardware setting on black, I have tried to redo it but it just wont turn off anymore. Any idéa why?
I installed iCue and messed with the rgb settings for my vengeance ram and uninstalled it and even reinstalled windows and the rgb lighting has still not reset to default. Does iCue hardware setting get changed in the bios? Do I need to reset CMOS?
I've notice this also what Jess mentioned! I set my Corsair Vengeance Pro sticks to a "Rain" setting on my main gaming rig! Then I just bought 32Gigs so I gave these 16GB sticks to my buddy and LOL when we started his PC the initial default effect is none other than RAIN! So the RAM must have their own little BIOS or whatever!
Life saver! I can finally sleep without covering my PC with a shirt lol
I’ve been doing that for a year cuz I was too lazy to turn it off in the bios 😂
That's such a bachelor object to use. I suppose building PCs is bachelor behavior to begin with.
Just finally did this … been dealing w this since 2019
I thought i was the only one doing that 😃

There is no hardware lighting tab in mine.
Finally someone explained this in a way that made sense. . Thanks !

The fact that I wanted my RAM to light up during sleep mode xd

if you close iCUE or uninstall, the LED say off. Unlike the MOB and GPU you can make the settings and then remove software.
If the motherboard supports, absolutely.
That rly worked for me, tks!

Have you checked the BIOS to see if there is any option there? You could also disconnect the power led from your motherboard headers.
@@chr15b bios have the other lights. wire is one piece connection to the power switch. Oh well there always tape . Thanks for replying

Do you have the CPU fan connected to the motherboard header? If so, check BIOS settings.

I believe that would be a Bios and or Windows setting
The option is within the Control Panel. Something like "Choose what pressing the power button does".
Go to Power Options in Windows and you'll be able to program what happens when you push the power button.
beautiful!!thank you
When I turn my pc on the RAM doesn’t light up. It stays off like it’s in sleep mode.
That's correct. It'll only light up when the software is running.

TL;DR: Solution is at 4:53. Go to "Hardware Lighting" on the ram and set the color to black.
Thanks for the tip!
cool vid thanks, which corsair fans do you use?
This build uses LL120 fans.
Have my like 👍

what if i want one of my ram to be cyan and the other pink? you cant dot that on scenes
Thx, except I don´t have the "Hardware Lightning" under my mem settings? (Vengeance RGB mem on Asus Z390F MB)
Check you are using the latest version of iCUE. Things could change though.

It doesnt give me the Hardware lighting option.
Check your software version and that your memory is compatible.

Is it bad to keep the lights on in sleep mode? I Ben wondering this for some time ?
Nah, people let their systems run 24/7 without issue. It's just more annoying for me.

@@chr15b I got it fixed after a little troubleshooting
so you have to keep icue running/installed??
Yes, or it defaults to the hardware profile.
But why the memory lights wont turn on till I put my password in?
This is because the iCue software doesn't start until you login to Windows. Until then, it defaults to it's hardware lighting state.
@@chr15b for example
With the fusion 2.0 of gigabyte it turns on before I log in to windows
It must run as a service, maybe Corsair can do that too. I’m not sure.

how i do this with trident z gskill?
I'm not sure, this video is for Corsair RAM & Software.
God I hate this software so much!
This only works if you close the iCUE app before going to sleep. Not a very good solution.
It shouldn’t. When the system goes to sleep the memory should default to its hardware setting state.
