Watch out after a windows update, it changes back
Man, I can't tell you how thankful I am. It was so annoying to see my screen wake up in the middle of the night or even sooner, lol. Even put it in hibernate but still had the same issue. Now I can resume tasks without shutting down the PC or monitor. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I recently switched from wireless WiFi to a Ethernet cable, so the internet running in the background during sleep mode was definitely the issue!

Thank you! After months of problem-solving everything from background programs and event logs, Device Manager did the trick. My home computer no longer wakes up while I'm at work.

@@lapfix The wireless mouse wakes up my computer from sleep mode. How can I prevent my computer from waking up with the mouse? In device management, I unchecked "Allow this device to start my computer" by right-clicking on the mouse. Then, I unchecked "Allow this device to start my computer" from the device management keyboard. However, my computer wakes up on its own at the slightest movement of the mouse. I just want it to wake up with the ON/OFF button. What else can I do? There are people who say to turn off USB booting in the bios settings, should I do this or what should I do?

okay so my issue is when i click sleep to put my pc to sleep my pc never actually goes to sleep...screen turns off but the pc never actually attempts to goto sleep...ive tried so many different things from like 30 videos.. nothing helped

I had another Windows update this week, and now the PC won't wake up with a magic packet anymore and it goes to sleep after 2 hours of no mouse or keyboard. So now I reticked the LAN adapter allow wake, but also the magic packet one. I suspect I will be able to wake the PC from the network, but it will also wake up on it's own again while I'm at work!¬

hi there, I found your video very informative but unfortunately it did not help my problem. I use my computer using the Unified Remote app. My laptop is connected to my TV via HDMI, which is why I find the Unified Remote app helpful to turn on or off the computer using wake on LAN feature. Even though I have selected “ wake only using magic packets“ the PC turns on randomly still. Since last year or so, I have tried everything that I found on the Internet but nothing works. Please help.

What’s the fix for a “greyed out” network adapter in device manager that states “allow this device to wake pc”? And I cannot change it?
I built this pc and I build them in general but windows 11 is an absolute migraine compared to fantasy land windows 10 They stupified the system and regular, accessible settings were easily accessible before. My keyboard, mouse, ect ALL DISABLED To wake pc. I have to un plug the RJ-45 (Ethernet) cable so it doesn’t wake up.

This used to work on my windows 10 pc But how do we do this in Windows 11. I don’t see power options in win 11.
My Asus desktop keeps changing to a black screen with the word 'PC Mode'. It then turns back on but the words were blurred for a few seconds. This is really annoying. I don't use its HDMI ports. So, what's wrong with this computer? It happens often when my mouse goes to the top right or when my mouse makes a fast movement.
I tried everything the video suggested, my laptop still instantly wakes up from sleep mode like 1 second after. I don't know what to do anymore :(

If you unchecked the box for "allow device to wake" for keyboard and mouse, the power button is then the only way to wake the computer from sleep mode
Same bro but i think its better this way no accidental turn on overnight or anything thing like that I just use power button to wake it now.

I did this and it worked on Windows 10, but after an update, it went back to the old settings! Windows is so annoying! You would have thought that after 40 years of windows someone would have come up with the better OS that catches on by now
