I’m going through “Nemesis” right now. The part where the only thing keeping him in check is the Grav-Plates creating a field that would kill anyone else was epic. Also that he woke up with no directive or mission parameters and was just blindly killing everything was pretty dope too.
Remember it still counts as stealth if nobody is alive to see you

Thats how i do all stealth missions. Its easier to kill or knockout everyone in the level than figure out routes.

When not deployed on a mission they are usually kept in a state of suspended animation for the safety of the temple's support staff. Drop-pod insertion is a common way to deploy an Eversor assassin and in the final moment before the pod makes planetfall the assassin gets their orders and then the carnage begins.
Also, once the drop-pod is launched from the ship, the mission data is downloaded straight into their modified brains.
Basically making them completely independent from any command structures.

And while he was going over which assassinorum temple to ask for aid one of his assistants recommended an eversior. Then the inquisitor responded along the lines of: “then we might as well just orbitally Lance the palace since the end result would be the same”

No, Eversors aren't given a specific target.
They are simply dropped into an area and every living being in that area is a target
No, they actually are given specific targets and occasionally even a suggestion list of people to try to avoid killing. They're also just as good at Sam Fischering their way into secured areas as the other assassins in pursuit of their target.

They also dropped a couple dozen on some folk during the assassin wars around the end of the beast when the assassin high lord kinda did a very low key coup d'etat on the heads of the imperium. He did a good job for a respectable amount of time too but the stress of the position and it’s tolll on the mind ended up driving him mad in the end.

Its nice to see the temples be so effective for one simple thing: they sacrificed their humanity. Not like chaos, but like Necrons. Nothing more than a weapon to kill the enemy. Be it a weapon for the C'tan, or the imperium.
I still can’t believe we haven’t gotten a game where you play as one of these guys. You get dropped in it a new hot zone, get your mission parameters, slaughter everything, repeat
Also, because they are assassins, there is potential for interesting stealth mechanics.
I feel like it would be cool as hell if it had a max difficulty setting, that made it so then through the whole game your health slowly decreases over time, and when you reach 0 you explode. But killing enemies gives you life steal, especially melee kills and completing objectives gives you full health again.
That would be such an awesome speedrunner/ultrakill styled game, and being contextualized to the lore of an Evesor but put into a gamey mechanic system.
@@jal7852 Eversor stealth is leaving no one alive to report he was there. Not that the slaughter wouldn't give anyone investigating a clue, but at least it leaves a certain uncertainity.

I know where something like that happend. On Armageddon, where someone, formerly known as Calistarius, slaughtered lots of Orks in the blink of an eye and then proceeded to rip out the living, beating heart of the largest Ork he could find. All the other Orks suddenly remembered they had other chores to do, like turning off the stove at home.

Still love the story when an eversor assassin attacked and killed a tau etherial. The tau managed to kill it but were so shocked at the brutality and bodies that were fed to the grinder to kill it terriefied them on how a species coule make something like that. The explosion at the end rocked the tau to the core on how dangerous one living being could be and fear the imepriums assassins with a special degree of respect

@@artem2496 yes they were sent to invade the temple during the clade wars an 100 eversir basicly butchered the legion of space marines (pre pappa g breaking them down in suze) a single marine survive to complete the mission
Where is that story, finnd it dubious as in the heresey novels 4 assassins one from each temple could barely bring down a single marine even having ambushed him.
All 4 nearly died in the attack.
Later the eversor sacrificed himself to buy the other 3 time to escape when the unit realised something was amiss as their comrade didn't respond.
The eversor didn't stand a chance blown to pieces by bolter fire as if it was nothing.

This assassin makes Malice proud. Proof that when the objective is not to succeed but to watch your enemies bleed - that fuels Malice the God of Terror, Hate, War Nihilism and Hannibal Lector.
You've left out the part where Eversors can actually kill several veteran Astartes. Which means that their augmentations likely use parts of enhancement process from either Thunder Warriors OR even from Custodes themsevles.
Also worth of note that they're made from normal humans and retain their size ie they're tearing Astartes to pieces while being much smaller then them.😂
Imagine Eversor made out of a vat grown giant ie ogryn, but functional brain?😅
I dont thing that their enhancements are TW or Custodes based. Eversors are made for short missions - drop him in, let him tear apart everything, put him back into stasis or collect remains. Astrates, Custodes and even thunder warriors were all made to be high performing on longer terms.
@@drarsen33 Yes, eversors are meant for like 3 days of extreme violence at max. But for those 3 days they're juiced out enough to rip through just about anything.
Gene-seed troops and above can go months of grueling fighting with little to no rest. Space marines in particular can force higher thought processes through other parts of their brain (somehow) so they can let some of their gray matter rest. They can also go into stasis like hibernation mode if their body gets depleted of enough nutrition take enough damage that would kill them over time.
Considering the stuff mentioned in Seventh Retribution and weapons used by the other temples, their stuff could just as easily be xenotech or tech heresy in nature. They do originate from some dudes Malcador recruited, after all.

IIRC these guys are in suspended animation when not in a mission, so while they may not be deployed in months, they experience their missions as if they were back to back. Literally all they know is carnage.

the most interesting part to me is the amplification of emotions rather then the dulling. often we associate killer instinct with cold calculation, so this guy exists in extreme contrast.

The Garantino teached me than one eversor can be more charismatic than many space marine.
Read when one of these assasins almost killed 3 space marines, Only thing that saved them was Ragnar( a space Marine) almost turning into a Wulfen.. and even then.. they almost all died.
Everyone in the way of the mission is considered dead. Best thing to do when you see a eversor from a distance and it doesn’t have time to run the 3 miles over to you. Just run because it’s most likely gunning toward the governor. You lucky you decided to take a right that day.

There's been instances in the lore of various assassin types slaughtering Astartes.
During The Beheading in M32 around 100 of them took on a 1,000 man marine honor guard force and killed all but one of them.

That's Callidus assassins and Culexus to a lesser extent. Evisors work off their cake, with the excessive amount of running they do and don't get the opportunity to restock the bakery between missions, since they get kept in stasis and just get shot at a target planet from orbit.
they are so damn insane they keep them in suspended animation between missions to a) keep them alive for more than a few years which is how long their now twisted body can survive and b) they are just too insane and bezerk to allow to be awake when not fighting

So in short they are a walking,raging,psychotic WMD? Cause even if they "Fail",they still accomplish their mission,i.e. if they get killed close to the target,the nuke inplanted in them goes off and the mission is completed anyways. Not to mention they must have the most brutal existence ever,and that's saying something considering it's 40k we are talking here....they get frozen into stasis in between missions,because of the chemicals they are drugged up with won't let them take a breather or rest but just keep killing...so it's basically "sleep",in which mission details get directly inplanted into their minds and murderous mayhem? Damn...
I think i heard about those guys, but only with the story of Legienstrasse (yes, the hybreed created by tech heretics), and that's one of the things that hold her up a little bit before the Eversor was destroyed by her... Of course, the Eversor exploded like a nuke
