Of course, this is what happens when you send your psyker chapter against a bunch of guys too angry to die that are also highly resilient and resistant to your space magic.
Also, after the Months of Shame the Knights refused to ever kill those who see them again. The only kill those who are tainted now...and do NOT listen to the Inquisition for who is tainted or not. They have specialists that determine that in their own ranks now.

One way to make Malum Ceado op but not really would be to use one of the specs of the warhammer universe. The event from the game could be a narrated and romanticized version of what happened, like someone telling a legend and adding some stuff he believes in it.
The script in this video is really good. Multiple genuine funny quips, jokes, and one liners throughout the whole. Nice to see majorkills improvement over the years.

First came Titus, now came Caedo. The Ultramarines do have badasses, you just need to look in the right places.
I really want a coop 40k shooter where you play as Titus and Caedo as they purge whatever they are thrown against as Titus spouts wisdom and Caedo spits flaming taunts. They would be the perfect duo of Ultramarines for a video game.

For stuff like games, you can seperate the canonicity of the story with that of the gameplay. It may be that that malum caedo "just" assisted the inquisition in stopping a chaos incursion after his squad died, and not that he litterally killed 6 greater demons and 200 black legionaires by himself
But where’s the fun in that?

It may be only my headcannon, but I feel it's obvious the reason the drop-pod crashed was that the swinging of Caedo's massive balls knocked it off balance.
