Hi Chi, I love your content but I do find the recommendation to wear heels frustrating. It’s not always practical and the comparison of the outfit with sneakers vs heels isn’t a true comparison. Of course I’d love to wear heels all the time but life necessitates sneakers or low heels in all seasons. I’d love to see a follow up to this video with some recommendations for how to look good as a petite hourglass with casual or low heeled shoes because that is the real challenge. Thank you!! ❤
Keep in mind this is a best option suggestion she’s giving. If it doesn’t work for you all the time use it when it does. Mules are an in between. They show more heel and are less bulky but are still flat.
@@jessabeauty917 absolutely! Just saying that the heel thing makes sense but I’d love to see advice on how to look good without heels or dressy shoes. Like how do petite hourglass women look good in sneakers?
I agree as well. Heels have their time and place. I am not petite as I’m 5’5, but I am an hourglass shape. Do these rules apply to those of us not of petite size?
1- don’t cover your chest, don’t wear turtleneck ( expose your collarbone, v neckline, square neckline ) 2- dresses that highlight your curves 3- don’t dress wide, you will look shorter and bigger 4- shorter more than fitted crop tops 5- jeans for your wide hips and smaller waist 6- wear heels : to look longer and slimmer
I’m a 5’4” hourglass, but I’m a size 14-16. I have a belly I’d like to hide, but hourglass shapes are encouraged to highlight their waist. No bodycon dresses for me! I’d love a video for plus size and petite hourglass girls. It’s a struggle, and no one is telling us how to handle these challenges! Help us, Chi. You’re our only hope!
Thank you for this video for short hourglass body type. It is hard to know what to wear AND there is not good content for this body type. Keep these videos coming! Your content is so professional and I appreciate that you are a clothing designer.
Great video. I can’t wear high heels for long now. My best tricks are lower slim heels, shoes that match pants (blue sneakers with blue jeans) or nude shoes. More comfy shoe tips seems to be a common request- hope to see more on this soon!
Another thing to keep in mind (from a very curvy hourglass Petit girl). Be careful with the low neckline because your torso can look very short. If you are using very low neckline don't pair it with a high rise, look for a mid rise to add that length you are taking away from the upper part. If you want to wear a high rise wear a higher neckline, it doesn't have to be a turtle neck but keep the proportion in mind. I've also noticed you can add that visual leingh in the torso with another layer like a vest or jacket that have the same color of the bottom to continue the visual line, that way you can keep the lower neckline and the high rise.
Thank you and Happy New Year! Can you create a video featuring skirts & dresses for those of us who will never wear heels or sandals. I live in an urban area, lots of stairs, always on foot, crowded subways. Function first in footwear.
I agree with everything in this video even the heels! However i too find myself in the situation that being heavier than i once was and in my mid 50s I'm starting to find the pointed toe heels so uncomfortable. Lately the only heel i can walk in with a bit of height is the block heel.
Finally I understand why regular petite clothes do not always work for me. This is my roadmap to better look for my hour glass figure. Thank you Chi!!!
Love you Chi!❤️ Thank you so so much for this video! I finally know, why not all of my clothes look good on me. I am 5'3 or around and my chest is "visible" so to speak 😂. On the other hand, climate I live in is cold during fall/winter and turtleneck is a must sometimes. I also have at least 3 of the more "bulky" shirts. I think I will tell them bye soon.
Thank you Chi for this video! I have learned so much from watching you. I am 5 ft. 2 inches and have an hourglass figure. I am older (63) than most of your models, but I do follow your style tips for this body type. Your tips have made shopping much easier for me since I know exactly what to look for and what not to look for. I agree about looking for shoes that elongate my frame. I don’t wear heels every day, but I have found shoes with a lower heel and a slimmer toe that works well for my casual days. I like to look pulled together, even on casual days. Thanks again and please keep posting!
Hi mam im your new subscriber. Im petite 4'9" and im having trouble in fashion dress. Im just a simple lady who always dress with t-shirts, pants shorts, and slippers or rubber shoes. Lately i choose to wear blouses and find myslef trying to wear fashion clothes. I have difficulty in choosing what to wear since im not good in wearing fashion clothing. But now i found you im learning more and more. Btw, im petite neat hourglass, neat bcoz im not full chested. Im not slim though and brown color. I just have one blue high heel and pants, i have my blouses given to me bcoz i don't buy clothes coz im confused what will fit to me😁 but yeah, i need to learn more about fashion clothes from you😊😊😊
Thank you for this wonderful video Chi!❤️ I’m a neat/bottom hourglass with measurements: shoulders-bust-waist-hips 37-33-25-37, I’m 5’3”. Wearing jeans could be a challenge, they’ll be baggy on my & tight on my hips, one day I wore skinny jeans with sneakers and I ended up looking hideous! High-rise/mid-rise Bootcut, wide leg, palazzo pants are best for me. For dresses I like bodycon, mermaid, circle, wrap dresses, and sometimes wearing them with belts. For tops I like peplums, adjustable tie-waist tops, waistcoats & blazers (sometimes pairing them with flared midi skirt), halter neck is fine as long as the cut isn’t too steep/not too revealing otherwise it’ll accentuate my shoulders even more. Balloon, puff, cap sleeves are definitely a big no for me. Angel sleeve is fine as long as not too frilly. Not a fan of padded tops/dresses. As for the shoes/sandals, I like wearing 3-7 cm block or platform heels
Hi Chi. Just wanted to say that I love this video. I’ve watched lots of videos for dressing the hourglass shape and this is by far the best one. Keep up such an amazing job!
This is my body type! 5'1 34DD. I, too, look to Salma Hayek for ideas. She always defines the area between the bottom bust and top rib cage. She also shows a lot of skin, like you point out! It's important for us especially to keep our weight optimal. I am coming down from being 25 pounds over weight and nothing I mean nothing looked good. Just 10 more to go, and things are going much better!
Hi Chi! Do you have any tips for a petite (I’m 5’1), hour-glass, SMALL chested (I’m 34B) body? Pants cause me the most heartache, a close second is skirts.
Love these tips! I do love heels and find they are the go to that looks right with most things. My problem is people always commenting on how weird it is that I wear heels! Does anyone else get this? I only wear ones that are comfy for me, by the way.
Yes, I get that all the time but you have to remember it’s because you’re looking smashingly, sexy and beautiful in your heels. I just chalk it up to jealousy. pure and simple. Some other women don’t like you looking good so don’t let those comments know bother you.😊it’s called sniping or passive aggressive behavior
I love this content, this is exactly what I needet. It tells me that I'm doing everything right, but at the same time I don't know what shoes to wear now bc "sport shoes" are all I have. I'm not allowed to wear heels bc of medical reasons so is there a different option what shoes to wear ?
Totally! I'm an hourglass but my 20s are decades behind me. I worked out what to wear for my figure long ago and Chi's right on the money but I can't agree with her on the tall heels for me anymore. You can pose in them at my age but you can't live in them. I'd love to hear other suggestions. BTW - having read more comments I'd like to ask, does Chi ever respond?
Do you have advice about buying clothes on line? Because of my hard to fit curvy petite frame (5 ft 1, 38D), I am hesitant to shop on line. I would love to see a video about that,
Great video…I would love for you to do a video for more mature curvy women…. Trying to dress more classy with much larger bust on a 5’2 frame seems impossible.
Thank you for the video! raduire du texte avec votre appareil photo I got a lot thanks to you, thank you! I was more successful for spring summer because I find it easier with lighter materials. I would have liked an inspiration video on fall winter outfits because that's when I find it more difficult for us not to look like a snowman...😢 ❤️❤️
Hi Chi! I love your content! Can you please also give advice on how to wear balloon jeans for petites? Im 5'1'' and the balloon jeans end lower than my ankles. Can I still wear them? Thank you!
This explained all my troubles, how tube top doesn't fit me, a jean that's loose on the waist but tight on the hip, and how flattering an off shoulder top ended up looking on me, there are really cute trend and clothes but tried it and it def wouldn't and already did, didn't work on me, sad but you can look better
Hi chi, i wonder if you have tips with a body type like mine.. Most of the time its been hard for me finding clothes that fits me the best other than a peplum top or a-line dresses but my usual lifestyle is a casual setting so its tough finding a best fitting casual clothes. I love fashion and i also want to try other things.I dont know if many can relate to me too
