When Rayleigh mentioned how Roger liked doing things a flashy way and you mentioned Buggy, I was so happy. That's clearly where Buggy got his pirate "style". So cool you remembered him! Also, congrats on reaching 400 episodes!
Ayo, we're at the 400s! I can't believe you're already here. Yep, if you go back to one the Buggy and Shanks flashbacks you can actually see a young rough draft of Rayleigh there too! I love the Robin scene as well as the Usopp/Luffy one with Rayleigh after that. Luffy really went "No spoilers" on Usopp and that's exactly what his character would do. The Supernovas have some cool ass abilities, I like them all. Drake has the weirdest name in all of One Piece, btw. His name when written is X Drake, but the X is apparently the Roman numeral 10 so it's pronounced in the show as Diez (which is 10 in Spanish). This is definitely Oda at his most whimsical when it comes to names haha. Hype for the 300-400 video especially after that last bit from last video. Here's to 400-500!
Man it's just awesome seeing a dude roll in on a goddamn canonball and completely wreck this group of newbies (who still are, by all intents and purposes really strong, and even compare to our crew). There's so many great things in these episodes that barely gets mentioned but can be dicussed further, like the different devil fruits everyone has (some of my personal favorites being Law's. Bege's and Hawkins's), how Drake apparantly worked in the marines as a rear admiral before becoming a pirate, and whatever is up with Kuma and Vegapunk's experiments. And that's not to even mention everything with Rayleigh! Excited for more reactions
The part where Rayleigh said to Robin 'you might find different answers' also seems important. So maybe the strawhats will find new truths or a different view on whatever the Roger pirates found and know.
The editing and voice acting in the April Fools' video are top-notch. I'm so impressed and highly recommend it! :D Also, big congrats on 400+ eps! Keep up the great work Jent!
Just came across your channel by accident but I'm loving the way you go about the way you structure these videos and how in depth you go to your thoughts; that's always the most fun to hear. :D Always approve of taking notes! Also I am envious of your Rubix Cube skills, that's just magic to me right there.
the big players being thrown in and plot twists and stuff like that only get better as it goes on imo, more important characters introduced and time for them to do stuff
God I can't watch episode 400 without getting flashbacks that....don't have anything to do with the plot. xD All the One Piece fans who, like me, grew up with this Anime's German dub from day one will forever remember the shock of Episode 400. Because we got that far and the next time One Piece came on TV, we were back to episode 1. While Re-runs have ever been par for the course, those came at the end of arcs; never in the middle of them. And then, the show was taken off air for four years. And when it came back it was only on a Pay TV channel for a long time. During a time where internet was not nearly as accessible as it is now; during a time where only FanSubs existed and those were not easy to find - and then mostly in English... It was the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers and you could truly feel the impact it had on the Fandom. How much more closely we got attatched to everything up until Sabaody; how much every bit of information we had was looked at and speculated over so much more intensely, how people fell away because the wait was too long and when it finally returned to Free TV it wasn't where we had left off... The impact of it just suddenly being *gone* after we had been on this journey for seven years and grown attatched to these characters and this world was imense. This has obviously nothing to do with your journey through the Anime now; certainly not with the official subed version on top of that but it's just one of those things that sticks with someone. XD
Damn, super interesting though! It's crazy sometimes how the way TV does things will change how we think about a show forever. Reminds me of how Avatar: The Last Airbender used to show re-runs of "The Great Divide" episode on Nickelodeon ALL THE TIME, because it's an episode that doesn't factor into the main plot as much. And so for a lot of people, it makes this average episode seem much worse, because as kids we saw it 1000 times. Insane, hahaha.

I don't even remember it going to re-runs, I just remember it suddenly being *gone* and how very unhappy I was about that because we were in the middle of things, haha. I do very clearly recall the FanFic community for the next few years until it came back on TV, with a lot of authors absolutely nailing some things that were to come much later from what information we had and being completely off course for others.
I hope you read this Jent! Please stay away from social media or platforms that talk about one piece! One piece is ending and the "arriving at a full-circle" for all previous arcs and sagas are at full pace!
Thank you! I am trying my best! It's pretty much impossible to avoid entirely, anime circles tend to just talk about stuff but I'm pretty good at avoiding it. And considering it's still probably a year and a half or so until I catch up at this pace, I'll just have to hope I can keep dodging all the spoilers I can.
