You know Melissa, you have hit it right on the head. As Usual. Whilst family is number one in terms of importance, we should always remember that there are those that are less fortunate and could use a helping hand. A lot of them won't admit it due to pride and stubborness but they need the care and love just the same. Every year my wife and I shop for our kids ( 2 biological and 5 fosters ) and when we are done the first thing we ask ourselves is what is left in the budget. And we go to our local community center and pick a few families (4 this year) off the Angel Tree. We live in a small town, the population can't be more than 3000, and even here we have those families that are struggling. We have been blessed with good incomes for many years. We have a little savings left from the sale of our restaurant after paying for college for the kids. When we owned our restaurant we struggled financially. Winters in Minnesota are rough and would drop our customer base by 70% for 6 months of the year, but our loyal friends and customers kept us afloat. They paid it forward to us. Now it is our turn to do the same. People like your family are an inspiration to others in the world. You help show that in these struggling economic times people can lift up their neighbors. We should all remember the Golden Rule : Do unto others as you would have done to you. Jesus told us to love our neighbor. In large cities we have thousands of our brothers and sisters sleeping in the streets only dreaming of a safe warm place for their babies. To many of us are enslaved to that small piece of paper called a dollar. How does it all end ???

Take 1 person a day or a week and try to make their life better even in the smallest way. If everyone did this... The world would be such a wonderful and less scary place.

Last week I became a grandma again, to a precious , healthy baby boy. First thing I did was thank God for His blessings. The parents lost their first child. I am in tears for Ashleigh and Jay and their family. Now I am thanking God for Melissa and Jeremy and their family for the comforts and love they brought to this grieving and struggling family. ❤❤❤
I’m so glad you helped there family. Loosing a child is the hardest thing imaginable. I lost a newborn son years ago. You never get over it but it does get easier. I will be saying my prayers for there family. You guys rock for helping them. They have been through so much.

This one made me cry,and took me back to my childhood . I couldn’t count the number of people who would come to our house and my mom would have food to feed those families. Not to mention all the pies and loaves of bread made by the hundreds. We may not have had much , but what we did have , we shared. With each video yall release I've grown to realize that what draws me in more and more is the title of your channel " Good Simple Living!" Each video seems to take on multiple meanings. In the the end it just means kindness and compassion. Things that you and your family have shown and allowed us as viewers to join in by showing that this world still has kindness and compassion. I know that you watch Yellowstone and as that beautiful ornament that was presented of Vivian it made me think of what John Dutton said to Monica in a recent episode. Vivian wasn't here very long but she knew the love of her mother, she had a perfect life!
