    Thanks again. Love the RV uses👍. Running an AC without shore power is a great “prep” ability.

    I'd love to get a couple of those or at least an equivalent of. I've noticed they're getting much more affordable. I'm jealous of all your stuff lol.

      Lol thanks Gary. I'll be trying to test and show a lot more batteries in the future.

    So how about 4 battery array, my camper runs on 4. Would be cool to see something on that. Or maybe to much for system?
    Ok so I found my answer to my dumb question, just seen an array of 8 lions.

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds good. As long as your RV is running a 12v system you just connect all the batteries in parallel and you're good to go. Glad you found the answer.

  • @dcmore8488

    At 3:09 you said you were going to run them in series. Then at 7:03 is that not in parallel? Batteries get me so confused!!! All I want to do is just replace my single acid battery with one of these Lion Energy UT 1300 battery without any special charging method.

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about running them in series if I were to connect them to the Titan directly. But because I put them on the RV directly I did parallel. The Titan is a 24v system and the RV is wired in 12v so that's why I had a difference there. Basically I use them as my onboard batteries as backup to my Titan.

      @@minutemanprep Thank you!! And just to double check, you can't overcharge these Lion Energy UT 1300?

      @minutemanprep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dcmore8488 Correct they have low temp, high temp, under charge, over charge, etc.. protection.

    What's a good portable generator or battery backup to have for a power outage let's say 6-8hrs or so. To power a fridge or an a/c unit. Etc ..

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. To power just a fridge I'd go with this: amzn.to/2WB2nhV Delta. To power a fridge and an A/C unit, you'll for sure need the Titan: poweredportablesolar.com/shop/

    Positives: Lion Energy are best in a stationary environment. They can discharge continuously at 150A! This has been verified. Very light weight. Negatives: smaller terminals. They are not a sealed battery.
    Battle Born positives: completely sealed from weather, water (boat?). Super high build quality. Best for wet, high humidity, or high vibration environments. Negatives: cost, weight.

    Is it possible to hookup 4 or 8 of these batteries in 24v configuration to the Titan?

    Can you review the Lion Energy Safari ME with the expansion pack?

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope to do a review on that one. It's pretty pricey and I have to buy my units by myself. I have considered getting a patreon account just for that purpose so I can get more units to test and review.

    What happens when it gets cold? Will you lose capacity or ability to charge. 1000$ apiece ? Wow

    Yo! what is your opinion on Dakota Lithium? Specifically they have a Dual purpose "starting battery" that they say has a difference chemirty that allows it to sit in the engine compartment unaffected by the heat that usually plagues Lithiums. Claims to have an 11 YEAR warranty.... I really want to buy one but am skeptical. I am looking for 1 single battery that works good as a starting AND for accessesories.

      Sadly I do not have any experience with them, yet. I do plan on doing a lot more batteries and reviewing them but I am not there just yet. Sorry.

    Can these batteries be used in cold temperatures? If so what’s the specs, as they will be used outside as your setup??

      This is from their website:
      "The Safari UT lithium battery series performs better than lead acid batteries in most weather conditions. It can charge between temps of 32° and 113°F and can discharge between -4° and 131°F at 100% rate.
      Note, ALL types of batteries need to be above freezing in order to charge them. As a result, it is best to use the batteries in a climate controlled location (not on the tongue of a trailer or using a lead acid battery compartment that has to be ventilated, thus allowing freezing air to circulate around the battery).
      The Safari UT and other lithium batteries can be placed in an insulated space, inside the RV or other climate controlled areas. Some users have suggested using a Battery Heating Pad that you can find online. We recommend using the battery in a climate controlled location.
      If you want to use some type of heating element to keep the battery above freezing, you may want to do an online search or check out sites like offgridpowerpack.com."
      I stored my Safari UT 1300 batteries in an uninsulated shop last year through the winter and didn't have any problem because they were not being used. I don't camp with my RV during the winter which is why I leave them there on the tongue.

    Interesting. I got very close to getting some external batteries like this, but in the end I moved some stuff around and made room to stack a third Titan battery and had you ship me one of those instead :)
    When you connect two external batteries in series like you described, I assume you have to balance the two 12V batteries with each other first?

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, balance the two 12v batteries, then get those balanced wtih the Titan, then connect.

    • @mikel3591
      @mikel3591 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minutemanprep How do you balance with the Titan? This is the part that stumped me.

    • @kingbengman
      @kingbengman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikel3591 th-cam.com/video/59TdMEbWMXY/w-d-xo.html This is how you balance the Titan batteries. If you're wanting to add external batteries then the easiest thing I find to do is charge or discharge the Titan batteries to be the same voltage as the external batteries. Once they're within .5v of eachother it's ready to connect to the Titan directly via the External Battery Expansion Cable found on poweredportablesolar.com/shop/

    I believe you mentioned that Lion Energy Safari UT 1300 12-Volt LiFePo4 batteries are direct plug-and-play replacements for lead-acid battieries. Does that mean I don't have to upgrade my 2005 Progressive Dynamics 9100 series converter with Charge Wizard? Another great video. Thanks!

      @minutemanprep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. These are direct plug and play or "swap and play"

    I didn’t see you do any kind of testing on them. I wouldn’t trust Lion Energy and don’t trust what they say the AMP hour is either. The now UT1200 were the ones they sold first as the 100A battery but after they started to give them away to you tubers to test it came out that they weren’t 100A but more like 85A. Very deceptive company. Battle Born really do sell what they preach.
