      Not in my area , it's smaller and lower than permissions . Check in your area but mostly it's the same . Just Google it to be sure ,

    Hi Jim, looking to do something like this without digging foundations. Can i ask if you layed one layer of brick straight onto existing slabs ?

    • @dadsworkshop
      @dadsworkshop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi , my slabs are heavy duty weigh 75lbs each , under the slabs is 8 ton of concrete .... Ask me how I know 😂

    • @zCLxTcH
      @zCLxTcH 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dadsworkshop so are they not the standard weight council slabs ? Just curious

    • @dadsworkshop
      @dadsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@zCLxTcH no idea what a council slab weighs , I'd guess that was actually more than these from broken council ones I've seen on the past, but you still would need a lotta concrete under neath them .

    I am using what you have done as my blue print. Any chance you could let this novice know exactly how much wood you ordered, I would be grateful

      I believe I used 100 m of construction grade . At the time it was around 500 GBP .

    Jim, I'm thinking about converting my carport into another bedroom or moving my shop there and giving my shop to my kids as a cottage. the carport is the same size as my shop 12x20. just cruising your build vids again for inspiration.

      @@dadsworkshopTrust me no free rides around here. they'll be paying for the materials and providing labor. Just trying to figure out which way will add more value to my house. I think extra bedroom.

    Hi! I am considering doing something very similar. Did you do this via plans you had drawn up or just from previous knowledge?

    • @dadsworkshop
      @dadsworkshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I drew quick plans for openings in the framework as they had to be exact as window/door openings important .but other than that was do as you go .

    Coming along nicely, Jim!! What type of glue did you say you used?

    • @dadsworkshop
      @dadsworkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thrixopfropic, polyeurophane foaming resin based quick dry glue 😂 used to use it on wood boat builds, re ally is stronger than the wood itself

    was waiting to see you put the windows into the frame and you skipped it. RIP

    • @dadsworkshop
      @dadsworkshop  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Didn't think that need showing , simply done plastic 3mm spacers underneath , screws in the sides, not too tight font bend the frames , and foam / silicon around .
