Amiga format introduced me to Beneath a steel sky. Changed my life.

Beneath a Steel Sky and Disposable Hero in the same month. Great stuff.

Zool 2 and Seek & Destroy were my favourite demos from this month, but it's hard to argue with SEUCK being given away for free. It was a pack in title with my C64, and then 5 years later I got it for my Amiga with this coverdisk. Hours of fun

Yeah had a lot of fun with SUECK, and Zool 2 is great. But it was one of those games I knew I was going to buy no matter what! 😁

That was an expensive month for me. Had three of the magazines and where I first played Globdule. I also played the heck out of the demo for Seek and Destroy, loved the smooth rotation. Bobs bad day did the same thing.
I didnt get Amiga Format, would have really dug into the construction kit. It was a mag that I rarely bought anyway as I was more interested in the games.

Wow, getting 3 of the mags would have been a costly month, but there was a good bit of content there!

Ooh, I remember that cover of The One very well, it is one of my favourites of all time. Good times. I fondly remember biking to the newsstand to see if the latest imported issue of The One had arrived from ole Britain.

I believe, i still have that copy of
    THE ONE FOR AMIGA magazine.
Although, i do not have the cover disks
    for my Amiga 500 😹.
Stavros Fasoulas created an excellent game, GALACTIC.
I played so many times back in the 1990's 😹😺👍🕹️.

Well done for all the hard work they went into this video, I massively enjoyed it. Looking forward to your future videos, you’ve developed a real flair for this

Beneath a steel sky was 15 disks. Monkey island was 11. No idea why I remember that 😂

I kind of want to see you do a review of this beneath the steel sky sounds like an interesting game I've never heard of

I've been trying to write a review for a while, its such an interesting game.
Pushing up Roses did a good review and you can actually get it free (legally) from GoG or from Scummvm.
Which is the CD version with speech.

    The One for Amiga:
Galactic Xmas Remix is a great addition, being the actual, final release of the game. I love that idea.
Zool 2’s a fun game & that 1 level demo would have given me a taste of the game.
Beetle is visually kind of trippy? It’s a pretty substantial Shareware demo that would have been fun & may have sold me on the full game too?
    Amiga Format:
Diskmaster II is genuinely useful, so getting it free would have been appreciated.
Beneath a Steel Sky! One of my all time favourite games! Also getting the comic with it is a cool extra. I’ll be honest I do prefer the PC CD version, both for loading times & the amusing voice track.
    Amiga Action
I loved Alien Breed 2 & again the demo would have given me a good taste for the game at a time when I didn’t question the infinite enemies.
Disposable Hero is a great game & it looks like there’s enough in the demo to sell it to me?
Dinosaur Detective agency is interesting? Think about the extra work giving the demo a Christmas theme?
    CU Amiga:
Shoot’em up Construction Kit may have created basic games but it was huge in it’s day & would have been very much appreciated free in it’s day if I didn’t already have a… “backup” copy.
    Font app? Useful but meh.
Mortal Combat demo would have been repayable on it’s own, 2 player anyway but yeh, at the time you didn’t really need to sell it to people.
    Amiga Power:
I loved the Dizzy games back in the day & demo’s a great way to sell it but I really don’t see what was Christmas about? Possibly the disappointment with it being a short demo? 😄
The T2 demo would have shown me the game wasn’t really for me, but that would have been appreciated too & I can probably say the same for the Globule demo?
Dogfight demo looks like there’s enough there to make the demo replayable & would have been appreciated.
I love Cludo as a board game, so the look of the game would have disappointed me & I personally feel Cludo works best against other people.
Seek and Destroy very much reminds me of the final level of Pilot Wings on the SNES crossed with Desert Strike? I would have been interested in the demo at least?
I have to agree on your top app, a legit copy of Shoot’em up Construction Kit for free would have been very much appreciated. For me second place has to go to Mortal Kombat demo for it’s replayability even as a demo & 3rd has to go to Seek & Destroy because I was always disappointed the final level of Pilot Wings was just 1 mission & done.
Honourable mentions have to go to the Beneath a Steel Sky comic which would have sold me the magazine on it’s own & Galactic Xmas Remix for being an actual release of the game.
Fun video, thanks. I like this way of coming to a conclusion, rather than weighing up everything included across all the magazines.

Thanks for watching, BaSS was great game and getting a mini version of the comic with the magazine was great.
just wish I knew which safe place I put my copy! The CD version is the way to go I wouldn't recommend the disk swapping hell I went through (11 disks, 1 drive).
Getting Sueck would have been great.
Surprised that Mortal Kombat demo would rank so high.
We might be seeing this format more often this year as its getting harder to find 3 stand out magazines each month, so looking at more of them makes it easier.

Please do review for these unofficial commercial Quake 1 and 2 addons.:
    Malice for Quake (1997)
    Shrak for Quake (1997)
    Quake 2 Zaero (1999)
Quake 2 Unseen ( This was a cancelled third party commercial add-on for Quake II later released online as a free mod)
Juggernaut: The New Story for Quake II (1998)
Nobody did youtube review for Quake 2 addons, you could be first one

So I used to use a Master System controller on my Amiga - and I swear games like MK were two-button?

I use an SMS joystick as well, and I know a bunch of games support it but I didn't see any options in the demo.
so I'm guessing that it might not support it.

Reverend Green you mean I've never played the board game either...
11 ? 15 surely ---> I found a bug (in LINC Space) and they sent me a full set in return.
Just had a quick go of (the CD32 version) Seek & Destroy --- It kept pausing between shots ?
    SEUCK = Yuck !
