Habemus Code of Points! It's curious how last night I was wondering when I would be able to watch another video and here it is! Thank you very much once again for such an informative video!

This is will be done, I'm just waiting for more examples and trends from this season, especially in artistry as it is a new thing and guidelines are still given by the FIG.
Thank you so much for this recap! Very happy to start deep diving into this new code with other persons! I am glad to see that I mostly got it studying alone Just about the R example around 3:55 : can we count this as R4? According to the CoP, if she throws on the first rotation and catches on the last one, we can only validate the 2 ones that are under the flight. But then, in the example, I would probably have granted "catch in rotation + without vision" and the value would be the same Throw after bounces (0.1), without vision (0.1) R2 (0.2) change of level (0.1) catch with one hand (0.1), in rotation and without vision (0.2) = 0.9 What do you think?
now R requires that the gymnast performs at least 2 Base rotations under the flight to be considered a valid R, but all other rotations performed in addition to these two and the one/two performed during the throw/catch are still valid and must be counted.
:D Yes, I'm indeed still planning on it. My hard drive with the files crash a few time ago and I need to start nearly from scratch. But it's not an abandoned project, be reassured ;)

Thanks a lot for this! It really is a talent that you are able to take something so incomprehensible for all to understand. I do have a question however, this may seem a little out of field aha. About the rules regarding hair, I know it says the hairstyle must be "neat and compact". All the girls these days have buns but back in the 90-00s it was more common to see them with small ponytails, is that no longer allowed?? I've also wondered if this means girls can't have short hair?? I just find it odd because in other sports like WAG and FS despite dress codes you still see a variety of hairstyles and such, RG seems a lot more conservative in that sense.
Hi! sorry for answering so late! Ponytails, short hairs etc... are actually allowed, it's just not common. This can be for various reasons: -RG might be a little more conservative when it come to hairstyle, maybe because of the heavier influence of ballet. Despite ponytail being more common in the 90s-00s (and Bessonova), I can't really think of comeptition with a majority of ponytail styles. -There is also (I find) maybe the association of ponytail with pre-juniors nowadays, the cliché of it being a "childish" look (why?) -Short hair were never popular anyway (rip Halkina short hair) and unfortunately
Gymnast can have maximum of 9 DB, so if she does 3 combined its like she has 12, because combined ones count as 1…. but if they are not connected in specific way, they count as separate, and at the end, out of all DB she did, only 9 with highest points count…. I hope this is somehow understandable
I have a question regarding the combined BD, so like those split leaps that Linoy started all her routines with, where each one is worth .6. She often did 4-5 of them in a row, so in this COP would those get counted as 1 combined BD, or 4 separate? And if it's worth so much, why don't more gymnasts do them in a row? Surely everyone would have the flexibility for it... Thanks!
Those are still considered as 4 separate. II fit had been a single combined BD, you can be sure it would be in everyone routine 😅 (like illusions series in risk)
1- so if the only base is catch from large throw and I have 2 criterias that means that the element is worth 0.5 ? 2- does an AD need to have at least 1 criteria to be counted in this CoP ?
if a DA combines 'catch from a large throw' + another Base (like 'large roll'), then one criterium is enough. For all other cases in this code of Points we always need to see a minimum 2 valid criteria (even if a combine two Bases, neither of which is a 'catch from a large throw'). To answer question n.1: it depends from the second Base! it's not always 0.5. example: catch from a large throw + large roll of the hoop (outside the visual field)= highest base (large roll is 0.4 and catch from a large throw is 0.3) + bonus of 0.1 for combining these two = 0.4 + 0.1 = 0.5; catch from a large throw + rebound on the body of the ball (without the help of the hands and in rotation) = highest base (catch from a large throw is 0.3 and rebound is 0.2) + bonus for combining these two = 0.3 + 0.1 = 0.4
Me: "yay, there's a limit to the number of skills they can perform!" Also me: sees the 20 maximum for apparatus difficulty -__- Seriously, limit that crap to 9, just like the body difficulties. I think everyone's tired of seeing these comically frantic routines where the winner is decided based on who can throw and catch the apparatus the fastest.
I think 20 make the routine breath a bit more, don't you think? Also throw/catch have lost in point in value (now it's 0.5 is there is no special criteria)
Just when I thought I was understanding AD in the previous code this one makes it complicated again haha 😂 Thank you so much for this video 😍🙌🏻
Yes, DA is a new thing by 80% compare to last code! Thank you, I will go into more detail as the season goes on.

2:52 What's the point of this if they don't get some connections bonus? Isn't more risky for no reason?

Heyy:))
Does the risk count if you trow with your right hand but do rotations to the left side?
Yes! not extra point, but this is an authorized technique.
11:47 which group is this please?
1- so if the only base is catch from large throw and I have 2 criterias that means that the element is worth 0.5 ?

Great answer, thank you for taking care of it!
