Really hope that you stick with it as I feel Rs3 will really surprise you in a good way the deeper you get. Welcome in man! I still go back and forth between osrs and rs3 but been pretty much exclusively playing rs3 again since a bit after TOA came out. There’s a lot to love. If you want some easy agility levels, recommend getting silver hawk boots asap and just passively getting agility levels with them. I made my first 300m on my alt by getting my herb, smithing, and crafting up to around lvl 85-90. Slow buying and slow selling supplies, tons of profit on great exp methods. Recommend doing some of that earlier to get yourself some money to boost the account. Necromancy is an amazing resource for early pvm, abilities make a lot more sense than the other cb style abilities and will set you up better for training the other styles. That said, you’ll still want your def and stuff up too. Rs3 has endless content for you to explore so wouldn’t really recommend anything specific just yet. Keep enjoying whichever path you set yourself on! Gwd1/2 are soloable rather easily with t70 gear and equipment. Don’t lamp archeology or necro, they punish you for boosting exp. Both are relatively fast to train. Getting invention unlocked early will help a lot for augmenting tools and weapons. Worth noting; you don’t need to perk your weapons when you augment, it just gives you the ability to. So if you can’t afford good perks, don’t worry about it, augment and then siphon/disassemble as necessary to level it up. Looking forward to more content :)
@@TheMahano yup, silverhawk boots give you passive agility exp for using them while running or gaining exp. TLDR, don’t use exp lamps or bonus exp on necromancy or archeology, but do train them early on. Play the game how you enjoy it. Most optimal methods of getting through the early game are the same as osrs, lots of questing. Inflation has done a number on rs3 so often times shop runs can be good money. Buying runes, meats, etc and reselling on the Ge can be decent cash to start too.
The Pathfinder armour you get from Gudrik in Port Sarim is really good for the early levels. It's hybrid type and beats most armour till level 20 stuff. The weapons you get from him are better than the ones from "The Blood Pact" quest as well.
24:30 As far as improvements on the tutorial since I last saw it I do like that it by default puts your basic abilities on revolution and has you manual cast the rest. I'm max level and that's still how I do it. There are guides to make more "optimal" revolution bars but honestly as long as I can kill things I'm happy.
I love this new series, it's great to see someone come back to the game I never left. It's changed a lot over the years, and the new player experience can be a little janky, but I look forward to seeing your progress!
@anniemay7241 it really is a shame because RS3 has come a long way from when it first launched, which was admittedly terrible with bad MTX. But nowadays it's just another fun way to play RS and need more love
Hello. Someone who was a long time Rs3 player with several 99s here . I switched to old-school five years ago and havent looked back. My main problem was when i saw a friend buy a maxed account by using prismatic lamps. It cost him 3000 usd and it just completely disillusioned me and made my achievements feel worthless
@@TheMahano very true! But it still stings a bit haha! Overall rs3 has very fun lore and even though it's pretty lonely and quiet it's story and cutscenes are very well crafted. Something I wish osrs had more of.
honestly, if you take mtx out of the equation(just play ironman) rs3 is a generally enjoyable game. it's really disappointing we live in a world where we can't look past mentality. my 6months on rs3 last year was more fun than i''ve had in any mmo for years, the bosses are just fun. it's sad people see fast xp=bad when rs3 isn't so much about the xp as it is the content ittself. bosses are fun, quests are fantastic, and the progression in general just feels better.
More rs3 content needs to be out in the world. The game is honestly really good if people give it an actual chance.. I never stopped playing even when eoc came out.. 20 year old character. Never bothered with osrs because I played way more than enough of that as a teen lol..
I remember when I was in a discord call with a friend of mine whom I haven't talked to in months and I'm like "What do you play nowadays"? and he says Rs3 and I remember Roasting and flaming him (jokingly) but little did I know is that he convinced me to hop on for a a bit to "Mess around" fast forward to now.. am now maxed on Rs3 haha anyway what I'm trying to say Rs3 is an amazing game, but it’s frustrating to see it overshadowed by a lack of content and predatory MTX. People often suggest playing an Ironman to avoid this, but I prefer Mainscape. It’s a bit of a turn-off when I see OSRS getting updates and new content, New game modes, Leagues, DMM and whatever, while we mostly get weekly Treasure Hunter promotions as updates. The game has changed a lot since EOC. I remember playing during the EOC update and hating it. However, when I joined RS3 in 2018 it felt completely different (it felt good)-or maybe I just approached it with a completely different mindset and I think more players should too!
1:41 for some reason, there are more personalization options at thessalia in varrock, which are not in the original character creation. No idea why it's like that.
I started Osrs a month ago with my completely maxed main with several billions of gold in Rs3. (same rsn) I always loved the time before eoc. However, when eoc came out I didn't stop playing. Rs3 has become a really good game for me. Osrs is now nostalgia and reliving childhood for me. What I always notice in osrs are the activities that I hated back then and still don't like now. But it's so annoying and nostalgic that you do it and still somehow love it. Just one example is agility. In Rs3 I'm close to 200m XP, and I don't think I've ever done a course before. (lamps, silverhawks) Now it really hurts to tear agility. Just like before. Still, you do it, no matter how much it hurts. There's a grind in every meter you walk, and that's what not only makes osrs old for me, but also makes Runescape special again. I've now had almost 20 days of pure playing time in 30 days. I play osrs like I used to as a child. The only difference is that the osrs account is now an Ironman. A completely new experience for me worth continuing to play. Rs3 hasn't died for me. There are over 20 years of playing time in it... But I think my heart will be with osrs for a very long time.
Welcome to RS3, It still gets a lot of hate because of what EOC took from people, but I feel it was necessary to give us the amazing depth of content and combat we have compared to OSRS. Hope you enjoy your time playing
@@TheMahano Mostly Spoilers. And you lack the content to appreciate certain events and quests, as you cannot replay them. It's like reading a book and starting in the middle. While you can. Do you want to?
I use to play osrs like 15 years ago and I just started playing rs3 and am loving it started another osrs account but just can’t get over the 4 combat moves 😂
The interface for RS3 isnt very intuitive and can b confusing, but i think its a much better game than people give it credit for. Unfortunately you dont get a max cape on day 3 unlike what a lot of people say, but a lot of skills are interesting and due to the years of content updates there is a lot of things to do in easy skill
RS3 is great for its end game content. But early game is too easy, even on ironman accounts. Being able to configure and control how your interface looks and having a lot better graphics than OS will ever have is really great. If you love pvp though, RS3 will disappoint you. If you love tackling end game bosses using cool and awesome abilities, RS3 wins hands down. I came back after a couple year break and I noticed how necromancy (the newest skill) has eaten away the other combat styles. Everyone's doing PvM with necro. Other styles are dead unless you have bis gear and can sweat tick perfect kills. Still I'd argue RS3 EoC combat system is far superior to OS. MTX ruined RS3.
I suppose combat is a preference tho, people love osrs combat for its simplicity with the ability to be in depth. Rs3's combat does seem quite complicated.
@@TheMahano I hated and quit RS when EoC came out. But learnt to love it as time flew by. It is the squeal of fortune - treasure hunter that ruined the game from the get go. But hey, glad to see it re-blossom now thanks to people like yourself! Hope you have a great time! Group ironman is going to be fun whenever it comes out!
did you really just say rs3 combat is far superior to OS...dude..theyre 2 different games, os isnt trying to be like rs3..they both do combat that suits the players, neither is far superior to the other, OS combat suits os and at times can be challenging, rs3 is basically another mmo but slightly more refined than some games combat
@@Stonecrow99 True. By superior, I meant you can do everything OS can do and lot more as in just the ability to use keybinds unlocks way more potential than OS will ever have. OS is limited to switches and flicks using mouse buttons. But yeah, I really loved the real 2005-2010scape back in the day. Best thing is membership being shared by both games so you get to experience both, which is great!
@PowerfulVillain well yeah, that will always be the case in a newer games but that's what makes OS more fun when pvming, rs3 you just tape 3 to heal, 4 to pray melee etc (example), once accustomed, makes it chill, OS you gotta hotkey prayer, combo eat and move before you die in 1 swift go lol, it has its own unique challenging charm, for me rs3s downfall is too much content, I stopped playing after EOC, I finished maxing then left until OS, I keep trying to go back to rs3 every so often but get overwhelmed by the 90k things you need to do before lvl 10, then you got the 400 slayer creatures to learn about etc, quantity isn't always best
Why all the hate...Idk either. I'd hate if I wasn't able to use the old combat system anymore, but since that is still there, I'm okay with it. I went to OSRS because whenever I searched something runescape related, youtube keeps recommending me OSRS instead of RS3 so I was like "ffs, enough" and finally made the leap. Happy I did it, but no hate towards RS3 :)
I play ironman in rs3, it is easy scape, but the reward is there, because of some much you can do, open up stuff, being self sufficient is cool, because it is easy enough, but you still don't easy scape into GE.
Something about these "trying rs3" videos is that they are always early game. Obviously it would take a long time and dedication to get to the bossing and new elite skilling and such, but it's really where the game is at it's best. They don't bother updating the early game, so no one ever gets a great first impression unfortunately.
I used to be the player who only liked OSRS because I didn't like the direction RS3 took in the beginning. Over the years, I stopped playing and when I came back my account got hacked and lost everything. I was pretty sad ngl. Made me not want to play anymore. After a while, there was no other games that gave me the same feeling Runescape did so I decided to try RS3. I was hooked. It was almost like discovering Runescape again, it was a great feeling. They did a lot of good changes over the years compared to how it first came out. Now I play both OSRS and RS3 experiencing both worlds. I know a lot of the OSRS players talk shit about RS3 because of nostalgia but If you're open minded, trying RS3 can really make it all fun again. I guess getting hacked was a blessing in disguise lol
I believe alot of the hate people have, is for a version of the game that doesn't exist anymore. Theyve changed rs3 so much over the last 10 years, and alot of people just have what they remember.
The main problem, as I see it, for a lot of people was that RS2 hit a ceiling. There were no new tiers of weapons, and due to the model the game operated on that was no good so they needed something drastic. Hence, EOC. We can argue all day about whether it was a good or bad idea, but I personally think it was the best option they had. Otherwise it would have been a slow, gradual death to the game. There's a reason OSRS went back to 2007, not a week before EOC. Okay, there were hardware/software reasons too, but there was definitely the fact that it didn't immediately bring them to the exact same issue. They had years to develop it in a new way, where EOC or a similarly drastic change wasn't necessary. Why else do you think they brought out so many new game modes and other changes that are reminiscent, but different to pre-EOC RS2 content?
RS3 is a great game and OSRS is also a great game. A good time to be alive when it comes to runescape. The only thing, that really bugs me in RS3 is the ridiculous amount of daily scape. It can completely burn you out.
I still enjoy rs3. I understand osrs has been updated now, and the wilderness is basically dead in rs3 as of this post, but I didn't see the need to start over in a downgraded version of what i was already playing.
I played old school RuneScape back when I was in 8th grade like 18 years ago. I loooved RS3 when I first tried it recently. People just love to be haters
“I’ll play a normal account cause I have a life” why do I feel so called out 😂😂 but tbh Ironman in rs3 is a lot easier and not quite as bad as a lot of people may think. Glad your enjoying the game
Welcome to the good version of the game. Btw, the reason why you're struggling at 36:06 is bc you're wearing melee armor with a magic weapon. That reduces your accuracy to nothing
I think it’s crazy how much the rs3 community loves and most play osrs. But osrs players are so toxic towards even the thought of rs3. It’s wild. Most of which played eoc for a day and quit.
Ive only encounter toxic angly rs3 players myself. Usualy calling me bad at the game because i like runelitw mods ir some dumb shit, lol. Its the bad interactions you remember, most ppl on both are normal and just playing the game they like. But simple minded people feel like they need to justify why the game they put tons of time into is "better". Its just stupid people.
I mean it's definitely not the RuneScape I remember it, feels like a completely different game in a familiar world. Saying that though it's rather fun.
I personally "hate" it because I spent countless hours getting every 99, max cape in 2012. And now it can be done in a literal fraction of the time. But it is still fun in it's own way. Just depressing how fast everything is to train now
@@CKing724 Well even after EoC training methods other than combat skills didnt change/speed up. The reason you hate it is because you haven't played it in 12 years resulting in power creep and just updated methods of training. The same can be said about OSRS, training methods continuously get updated and methods from 2007 are now outdated and slow.
The majority of people quit since EoC, that’s the actual reason overall. Overhauling the combat system into something nobody understood or wanted was just a complete mistake. If OSRS wasn’t reanimated I’m sure RuneScape would’ve died. I’m max on RS3 (with the skills until EoC) and maxed all over on OSRS again since I simply like that combat system more as it’s unique to RuneScape. If I wanted abilities I’m sure that I would’ve played WoW instead. The ‘simplicity’ of OSRS is what made people fall in love with the game. As a veteran RuneScape player I still don’t understand EoC and don’t want to put time into learning it as the majority of us is over 30 now with more responsibilities and less time to ‘learn’ a whole new game combat mechanics.
The problem, and main reason people that don't or haven't played it is, steroetyping. It got a bad wrap the first year or so because the combat was a mess, but they have fixed and tweeked all of that over the years, and now its very enjoyable. I maxed on OSRS a bit over a year ago, have a 2b+ bank and got bored. Decided to give RS3 a go and I have been hooked every since. I went into it expecting to hate it, but god has it grown on me. The end game boss fights are brutal and fun. I will eventually go back to OSRS but for now, I am content with RS3.
Glad you gave it a go. I love(d) RS3. Die hard supporter post EOC. IDK game feels dull now.. notice how empty the worlds are.. notice how you wont interact with anyone at all. Jeez some worlds have like 20-50 people. Crazy, I've never hated on RS3 or OSRS both games have pros and cons. I just think RS3 got boring/dull to me and I predict it will die within the next 3 years unless something changes to bring new players. It's the same veterans that keep the game alive. The alt accounts etc. There's no new player base, they can't bring any new players at all because the game does not attract any regardless of how fun early game RS3 can be (assuming you've never played the game before) its a great game honestly if you've never played it before.
Ayy honestly, I am having fun playing it, but yes the world does feel dull, in comparison to OSRS where people are everywhere, RS3 feels like an apocalypse. I can also see it being overwhelming to new players. There's alot! I'f this video does well, I will be playing more and releasing more videos too, so im excited.
@@TheMahanogo to worlds will be 84 for group skilling and then fc specific worlds like 79 for divination. Seems to finally be changing for the better
Having 20 to 50 real humans is far better than playing in a world with 500 bots Me and my buddy started up our own ironmen and we are having a blast. We joined an ironman clan and there is plenty of human interaction.
once 117HD came to osrs I just felt there was almost nothing that RS3 could offer me that Osrs could not do better. maybe except for more afk skills that appeals to me, but is not a deal breaker. if RS3 pvp was very active I prob give it a try, but doubt ill ever play rs3 again is just a skiller game, honestly I think is good if thats all you want to do skill and PvE. I like to PvE and skill a bit, but primarily PvP at this stage, before I pve primarily.
I dont care ehat anyone says, wilderness slayer is SO FUN on legacy combat mode in RS3. If you didnt know, PKing has been remade into an opt in system so theres no fear of getting PKed. They compensated for the lost risk with just the most dangerous monsters imaginable

Half of this is gibberish to me aha but thank you for the advice! Please tell me hawk boots give you agility for just running around ?
Welcome to this side of the pond dude 🙌 It's always fun to see OSRS players give RS3 a shot!
Thanks! Looking forward to playing more!
Too bad people cant post an RS3 vid without OSRS overlords coming along to let us all know how bad the game is
@@anniemay7241 cuz its a bad fucking game
@anniemay7241 it really is a shame because RS3 has come a long way from when it first launched, which was admittedly terrible with bad MTX. But nowadays it's just another fun way to play RS and need more love
Hello. Someone who was a long time Rs3 player with several 99s here . I switched to old-school five years ago and havent looked back. My main problem was when i saw a friend buy a maxed account by using prismatic lamps. It cost him 3000 usd and it just completely disillusioned me and made my achievements feel worthless
Ahh I get ya, you got your achievements without spending stupid money tho, should be proud!
@@TheMahano very true! But it still stings a bit haha! Overall rs3 has very fun lore and even though it's pretty lonely and quiet it's story and cutscenes are very well crafted. Something I wish osrs had more of.
Same thing happens in OS just black market ie paying for infernal, paying for levels, but i getchu
@@Captainiwack that's rule breaking behavior.... Not features in place legitimately.... People get banned for that
@@tomgola3 I think only infernal capes are bannable, last I heard levelling services don't get banned if paid for by in game gold? 🤣
I have beeb wanting to watch someone play a main in Rs3 for ages. Its so nice seeing the G.E being used, excited for the spins! Following for sure!
Thank you! Episode 2 is in the works!
Personally, I play both, depending on what kind of gameplay I want, like for modern gameplay; RS3, or nostalgic gameplay; OSRS.
honestly, if you take mtx out of the equation(just play ironman) rs3 is a generally enjoyable game. it's really disappointing we live in a world where we can't look past mentality. my 6months on rs3 last year was more fun than i''ve had in any mmo for years, the bosses are just fun. it's sad people see fast xp=bad when rs3 isn't so much about the xp as it is the content ittself. bosses are fun, quests are fantastic, and the progression in general just feels better.
More rs3 content needs to be out in the world. The game is honestly really good if people give it an actual chance.. I never stopped playing even when eoc came out.. 20 year old character. Never bothered with osrs because I played way more than enough of that as a teen lol..
It is alot better than I thought it would be
I play both versions and enjoy them equally well. Great to see you try out RS3 :)
Thank you! glad you enjoyed the video!
Thx for giving a chance to rs3! as a player of rs3 and enjoyer of the old school content, im happy to see you joining the dark side!
I'm definitely enjoying it.
A good insite, I'm definitely wanting to play more, but I doubt it will take over my love for OSRS :p.
1:41 for some reason, there are more personalization options at thessalia in varrock, which are not in the original character creation. No idea why it's like that.
Its the same in OSRS
been thinking about trying rs3 too maybe someday
love seeing osrs players try rs3 great content!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
As far as F2P quests that I know are great, the one in Citharede Abbey is amazing and I think the Gower Quest is f2p is well.
I recommend legacy combat interface to simplify the menus if you're confused
Happy to see someone try out the superior game.
I recommend doing things in Age order. Avoid the 6th Age.
Good to know! Any particular reason why to avoid it?
@@TheMahano Mostly Spoilers. And you lack the content to appreciate certain events and quests, as you cannot replay them.
It's like reading a book and starting in the middle. While you can. Do you want to?
Makes sense tbh. Ty
Eyy you made this a whole series, well I got my day planned now
Oh yeh
As an old rs player I want to return to the game I knew, but every time I log in it just doesnt feel the same. I miss the grind man.
lets see a part 2!
EP2 Live now!
Both are great in there own way
I believe alot of the hate people have, is for a version of the game that doesn't exist anymore. Theyve changed rs3 so much over the last 10 years, and alot of people just have what they remember.
i'm generally not a fan of the combat, but all the other QoL I love
I play RS3, but watch OSRS content. I'm excited to watch and see what you think!
1Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the content
The switch from Osrs to rs2/3 was the best type of rs, then when fully blown rs3 came out it sucked
Woow last time i played Rs3 i think tutorial island was different. They made it like Osrs. Good cause idk what they had me doing before it was fun tho
Yeah, I never got why RS3 gets so much hate. Its honestly a great game with so much content. I swap between OSRS and RS3 depending how I'm feeling.
I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would tbh.
Do you play both? I'm debating if I want to play rs3 seriously now.
I love rs3. I tried playing iron OSRS a year ago and it was wayyy to grindy for me.
I think iron rs3 is perfect
The first thing that I would done is set UI scaling to 200% - it's freaking TINY! xD
I reworked the UI after a few episodes in
I still enjoy rs3. I understand osrs has been updated now, and the wilderness is basically dead in rs3 as of this post, but I didn't see the need to start over in a downgraded version of what i was already playing.
"lets go damage, fuck it" ah, hes a natural.
Good vid!
Thank you!
Nice video, man. Welcome to RS3
Welcome to the good version of the game. Btw, the reason why you're struggling at 36:06 is bc you're wearing melee armor with a magic weapon. That reduces your accuracy to nothing
Was one of those character shirts straight up a 3rd age druidic robe top?
what recorder do u use?
I use OBS Studio for both recording and streaming.
I changed my interface to legacy. Helps a lot for us old players lol
Thought about it! but I wanted the full RS3 experience yaknow?
You should try a hardcore ironman rs3 series, that Id watch!
Took me less time to max my osrs account than my rs3. Both games are valid
I am enjoying both at the moment
yo do they no longer give you the baby troll pet when you finish the burthrope troll starter quest?
You have to get it off a guard by the burthorpe prayer alter
Definitely keep going. Welcome to the real game.
Great video man
Thank you!
35:23 Its a Chargebow.... OSRS has them too like Bowfa and crystal bow
I think it’s crazy how much the rs3 community loves and most play osrs. But osrs players are so toxic towards even the thought of rs3. It’s wild. Most of which played eoc for a day and quit.
We have bad memories from RS3. EOC really did hurt!
Welcome welcome enjoy your time! And GlGl
Tyyy
The size of your ui stuff is stressing me out 😂 idk how you even got it that small
1440p monitor, UI has been changed in future episodes.
The majority of the hate comes from people that have never played rs3, and are just opposed to their childhood game changing.
@@bogus6741Of course they changed. You can literally buy xp
I feel is RS3 removed all the monetization, OSRS players would be more likely to try it out. it's really fun!
I like 3 mostly because of the quality of life stuff since i have limited time to play
Rs3 is fun if you get into pvm and there’s definitely no shortage of content but can also agree that as a comped player, it was looking pretty bleak for new content the last year. Seems to finally be changing for the better
Having 20 to 50 real humans is far better than playing in a world with 500 bots
Me and my buddy started up our own ironmen and we are having a blast. We joined an ironman clan and there is plenty of human interaction.
@@anniemay7241osrs worlds still have 100x more real players to interact with than rs3 regardless of bots.

LOVED THIS
Thank you!
once 117HD came to osrs I just felt there was almost nothing that RS3 could offer me that Osrs could not do better. maybe except for more afk skills that appeals to me, but is not a deal breaker. if RS3 pvp was very active I prob give it a try, but doubt ill ever play rs3 again is just a skiller game, honestly I think is good if thats all you want to do skill and PvE. I like to PvE and skill a bit, but primarily PvP at this stage, before I pve primarily.
RS3 is all about PvM. It's easy to very hard at the top end. Wish I would have gotten into PvP back in the day in 08.

>people in 2013 didnt know how to adapt
>>people hated just to hate
>>>people created osrs

I dont care ehat anyone says, wilderness slayer is SO FUN on legacy combat mode in RS3. If you didnt know, PKing has been remade into an opt in system so theres no fear of getting PKed. They compensated for the lost risk with just the most dangerous monsters imaginable
So it's not wilderness then. It's normal slayer with a psuedo-wilderness.
@@amp4105 the rules are clear: only kills in the wildy count, and combat levels are not considered when tasks are given. I've had to block living wyverns since wyrmfire pots require well over 100 herblore to make
For any old school players watching, give it a try but play as an Ironman and avoid mtx
Rs3 is simply way more fun. I wish more people played its much better imo.
MUCHHH LOVEEE
I quit rs3 and swapped to OS mainly due to rs3 dev team continuously driving more microtransactions and devaluing actual in game achievements. Just didn’t get that satisfaction from grinding xp when it could be bought with 5k in a few hrs.
lmao everyone just drops 5k into Runescape. You can do the same thing and buy the most expensive methods in OSRS. No lifing on OSRS for levels isn't an achievement. The game devs don't decide that MTX goes into the game and it not like it even takes any time to develop or it's even game content devs even make it.
