Let me know if you like these videos being long, or would prefer them to be shorter 15 - 20 minute videos instead?
Very much enjoy them long!
Most RS3 players probably prefer a longer series of OSRS players trying RS3.
I'm enjoying the longer style
I'd like the 15-20 mins videos haha
definitely a mix. i tend to enjoy longer videos, especially as you're learning and early game. Both are good options!
Just found this series, pretty excited to see how it goes.
Recommendation, This just my opinion and experience.
1. Keep grinding on your current account, learn the game this can take awhile since its very different than osrs.
2. Join a clan, good for offscreen tips and tricks even getting some ppl to carry you as you learn bosses.
3. If the game becomes unsatisfying as you grind try out ironman (Don't recommend hardcore, but you will revert to normal iron if you lose status.) You can drop your loot to a main.
PS: There are cosmetics that are free through gameplay/questing.
@@Scarizard_Gaming Thanks for the tips!
Just so that you're aware: Fire making effect the max heat for smithing and how fast it reheats, Strength effects your mining strength(ergo more dmg per pickaxe swing and higher crit dmg). The white floating orb above the archeology sites give you a boost to excavate faster.
As for your question cut scenes are awesome in rs3, dialog who cares skippppppp.
I didn't actually know this! very nice to know!
I love how when people come over from OSRS, they have a good time as long as they meet one condition: they are not bent on grieving people. As far as outfits, the majority are paid, but you can get a good amount via questing. You can also buy keys and use any equipment you find/buy as an override.
Was looking forward to this since the last upload! Love the longer form of this one!
I love seeing OSRS players try out RS3 instead of just shrugging it off as the lesser game. They're both really awesome in their own way. It's great to see you enjoying some of the new skills and weird quirks that come with RS3. The MTX is kinda weird but completely optional, I think many people forget that. Something I didn't see anyone clarify is those stars are giving you Bonus XP which essentially doubles your xp gathered until it runs out!
I highly recommend unlocking Fort Forinthry next, it's insanely useful providing multiple banks, smithing, the best prayer xp in the game, insane construction xp, free bonus xp, a slayer master and so much more. To start this find the "New Foundations" Quest! Looking forward to more, Cheers!
Glad your enjoying the series! Thanks for the tips!
A tip i would offer is to look into setting up your ability bars for each combat style, In your settings you can find a setting that changes your active ability bar to correspond with the weapon you equip. Example being switching to a bow from melee, Your active bar(The one with the yellow outline) will switch from the melee ability bar being active to the ranged ability bar being the active ability bar for revolution mode to auto use. You can set up your ability bars through the "Powers" menu and in your settings you should have 15 bars to use with up to 4 being active on your screen. I would also suggest removing the threshold abilities(The ones that use 50% adrenaline) and ultimate abilities(The ones that use 100% adrenaline) from the revolution bar and putting them on a second bar to manually click and leave your basic abilities on the revolution bar since they build adrenaline.
Yes, gonna be optimizing the UI in the next episode! ty
Great advice. It's also worth noting that you don't have to have all slots on your active action bar being used in revolution. Id recommend starting with 6-8 slots active and use the rest for thresholds, Ultimates and utility abilities. Necromancy is a great example of this. It has strong basics with low cooldowns and short cast times, then it has Blood Siphon. Great ability. Slow cast time. I keep it out of the basic rotation and use it when I need to top my HP off.
You can set up different ability bars (one of each of the 4 combat skills) and in the action bar settings have each one bound to a specific combat style so when you equip a weapon of that style it auto changes the bar to the correct one
Yes, gonna be optimizing the UI in the next episode! ty
also when doing rituals like in the end of the video, you can take the ritual materials out of you inventory and put them in the ritual storage so they will auto renew on the plinth. saves some running back and forth
Ty, i did notice this! just didnt have it in the video! thank you!
Protoxx has a very good interface video, it's at least a good stepping stone until you know how you want your interface.
I'd also recommend going into settings and under the ribbon section changing what you have selected, a lot of stuff in the ribbon aren't really that necessary and can be found from the escape menu when you need it, you can also add things that you'd like more access to like the various combat ability pages.
I also noticed that you had the magic abilities under your main action bar when you were using melee during vampyre slayer, the main action bar is the only one that has revolution (the automatic usage of abilities) you can change which action bar it's on by using the arrows next to the number, right clicking the number, or by going into settings under combat and action bar under action bar binding, make it so when you change weapons to different combat styles, it automatically changes which action bar you use. As a little aside it would be useful to go into the action bar section of the settings you can rename your action bars to make things a little less confusing when you're switching them.
Few tips:
You can turn on Legacy Interface Mode to make the UI look like OSRS's Resizable mode. [[Settings -> Gameplay -> Additional Options -> Legacy Modes]]
The UI in the game isn't designed for monitors bigger than 1080p, so turning on Interface Scaling to a higher % is a must. [[Settings -> Graphics -> Interface Scaling]] Unfortunately, this breaks Alt1Toolkit, which is the closest thing RS3 has to something like Runelite.
Also, do your Sandy Clues! Reyna on-stage at the Beach gives you a daily clue that you solve by running around the area. She will bank up multiple days of clues, so you haven't missed out. The caskets have stuff from Easy/Med/Hard clues. Clue Uniques in RS3 have a baseline value of about 1.3m because they all break down into Fortunate Components for Invention.
Thanks for all this! Will definitely have a look! Gonna stick with a modern UI, as im trying to keep it as "rs3" as possible!
I definitely prefer the longer videos! As someone who consumes content while playing RS3, longer videos help make my grinds go easier, especially considering I just need to finish mining and fishing for my max cape
you can unlock some outfits through gameplay, mostly when they release events for easter/halloween/christmas etc, you can also buy some tokens on the GE
Thats good to know! Ty! Love me some free cosmetics!
When going to train at the chickens buy a big stack of "Magic Notepaper" they cost around 600gp each, but you can note a full invent of raw chicken. With this you won't have to bank and might speed things up for ya :)
good to know, thanks!
I love the longer style videos of you exploring and the learning the game it’s awesome! Your reaction to some of the cutscenes will be cool too!
Another thing to note with the prismatic items, lamps will gain you direct xp to skills and will scale, with the prismatic lamps they will gain you bonus xp. Bonus xp is will give you double xp when training that skill for the amount that is green text when hovering over your skill.
You can also find your abilities for skills in the divination looking tab and can drag those on to your ability bar. You can also right click the number on your action bar to swap between them. It’s a bit complex at the start but once you get used to it, it becomes quite nice, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
@@griffotubes Yeah we did some hotbar stuff in Episode 3 which is out now :).
there is a couple of things i'd recommend. first of all your "main" action bar can use abilities for you. but you are using them on a 2nd/3rd action bar. which requires you to use them manually. so learning how action bars work would be pretty big for your progression.
second of all, you know how in osrs you have the optimal quest guide to do before you start to play the game? well rs has that too. i'd highly highly highly recommend you to go through some of the early level quests to gain easy exp to boost yourself to high levels quickly.
third of all, do your daily challenges. they will give massive ammounts of xp and keys and other rewards which will help you tons.
alot of cosmetics are bought through runecoins, yeah. but alot of people will also buy armor they like and make it wearable as a cosmetic. or dye weapons and have them as overrides. theres also a fair bit that are unlocked through quests or seasonal events.
Welcome to rs3 my friend. lots of good advice down low, raph the boy genius, rs guy, protoxx, and others have great beginner, start up videos. Best advice i have is play how YOU want to play.. whether thats with or without mtx, with some of it, (cause a lot of it is cool and fun) but dont feel tied down to play a specific way. Excited to continue with journey with you! Happy to help in game if ever needed! -- rsn > In Lieu
Thanks for all the info!
I'd like to see the dialogues and cutscenes. With some commentary when called for too.
Bro I'm excited for this series! I love seeing osrs players trying RS3 and realising it's actually a really fun game with a lot to do!
You still have so much to learn but it is hilarious to see your reactions to certain things lmaoo
I'm glad your enjoying it! Thanks for watching!
@@TheMahano no worries bro! I messaged you on discord if you want some help with rs3 related stuff
haha i met 1 guy at youtube we argued some and i told him he cant say sht because he have not tried rs3... so he did and now he is maxed in rs3 too xD
It's a long term goal, but if you like purple, look up the intricate shadow chest. Dope end-gamish cosmetic that's not obtainable through MTX. It's my personal favorite.
The robes do look sick!
There are free outfits you can unlock via questing, you used to be able to buy bonds for 20mil which was totally doable, and a bond could be traded for runecoins which bought any outfit obviously, but those bonds now cost 100mil+ to buy in game now so, sure it's possible but unlikely unless you loaded with billions
This should be a fun series to watch. RS3 is slept on for sure.
Im glad you are enjoying it!
Buy yourself a ring of fortune, it will cost about 1.2 mill but has unlimited teleports straight to the he and gives t3 luck bonus and some combat style bonus's
Ty for the suggestion.
Happy to help man, I'm loving the series so far, I'm glad that you're enjoying rs3 as well! A lot of people don't give it the credit it deserves because they quite right after eoc dropped, not realizing that there has been a ton of great quality improvements on the game to keep it interesting while still giving that old-school feel where it's needed while also keeping up with the times@@TheMahano
It is no suggestion, it is a must have
I honestly prefer the cutscenes since im a lore fan.
Same.
Btw! You can adjust your combat xp gains in the settings in Gameplay/Combat. Hope this helps!
Edit: I see you found out in the last minute lol!
haha yes ty though!
always nice to see osrs players see what runescape 3 can offer! such a massive MMO to get into
glad you enjoyed the video!
Welcome to RS3 man! It’s good to see osrs showing rs3 some love. Subbed to your channel so looking forward to seeing more of these 😄
Thanks for the support!
love seeing when osrs players try rs3... and rs3 players try osrs :D
Maybe we finally losing the beef between the two game communities?
I've played this game for long enough that I'm shocked about just finding out about the silverhawk boot emote now haha
lololol
Love the videos! I will be looking forward to all your future content
I play rs3 every day, and have been playing rs since like 2002, watch rs3 and osrs and rsps content
always nice to see someone give it a go! 10/10 for noticing Crunchy!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
enjoy this alot love seeing osrs player play rs3. just some help during the vampire slayer quest you had the wrong combat style on your main action bar.
glad your enjoying this! Yes I need to optimise my UI lol.
make sure you are actually using abilities either it be on revolution or manual i noticed throughout the video you where on the wrong ability bar and your attacks where not being used for the proper weapon setup
Yeah sorted out all my abilities in EP3 :).
I also play OSRS and RS3. Welcome to the cult my friend. Once I let go of my comparisons between the games and treated them as separate games I had a blast with RS3.
I'm definitely enjoying what ive played so far!
archeology tip (still watching so if you figured this out i apologize) but follow the wisp that appears when excavating. Itll give you a buff to increase your gains.
Also just saw your question. You can unlock cosmetics through events and quests. Some are pay only, but you can get a solid amount without paying. You also get loyalty points that can be spent on cosmetics or auras and stuff like that.
Following this series!
Always go dual wield shield is useless and lower levels
Necro is so broken
Do wildy events always
Beach event for afk dungeoneering xp during editing etc
Doing "dailies" is such good money wiki has info on it
Train your magic to unlock surge it will be your best friend for mobility
Keep going on the series its very entertaining
Im glad your enjoying the series, and thanks for the tips!
Sorry I didn't realize this series has already rocketed to 8 videos. I'll try to catch up.
Silverhawk boots' XP drops scale to your agility level, so it's not the best idea to use them on a brand new account.
bro please keep pumping these out
Thats the plan!
Lots of quests reward you with cosmetic overrides as well, I play rs3 as an ironman so Im locked out from almost all mtx and there's plenty to earn for free
thats great to know thanks!
you can configure to auto-change your combat bar according to the weapon you use, u changed your main bar to a mage bar and was using melee at the vampire slayer thats why it was so hard, also you should start using half revolution half self-casted spells so you can start learning the next level PvM, like necro there are a few skills that deals more dmg or uses less adrenaline if you use after you get buff stacks so you need to selfcast that to be more effective and +dps too.
Also theres a quest point milestone that u get like 1m+ just by claiming the reward after those milestones and a few buffs too its at south varrock entrance just outside of the city
Thank you!
Don’t forget to upgrade the necro weapons
20 mins with progression ❤
definitely try to do achievement diaries as you can, great rewards
Achievement diaries seem to always be worth doing! ty
@@TheMahano The wilderness easys have a very good early-late game item unlock and gives you some useful info
I think rs3 has much better pve content imo and quality of life changes. Osrs has by far the best pvp but still has some pve as well. They each got their own special place.
Rs3 is actually pretty fun pvm wise but the learning curve is a lot. Necro brought me back (to get my max cape back) but has made getting into pvm a lot more interesting and not as overwhelming as coming back to the other styles thus far super enjoyable rasial was a good Challange at first relatively difficult until you learn a bit. Drops are consistent enough to not get too burnt out and going for PBs also very enjoyable. Zuk follows the same pattern very stressful but once you get it just feels so much better and way more rewarding then Osrs. I enjoy Osrs good game but overall pvm wise rs3>Osrs and I’ve played Osrs pretty much since release
if you hunt the kebbits in the snow area in burthorpe you can make some quick money
LONG VIDEOS pls :)
good to know! tyy
just like osrs, do quests for good exp
like and comment for the algorithm
Ring of fortune!! It’s not that expensive and will give u unlimited teleports to the grand exchange. Thank me later ;)
got it! in EP 3, TY
I think you can edit out most of the cutscenes, maybe leave in certain ones just keep the context of whats happening
you want some starter items? dont want to flood you with gp because i think itll ruin the immersion but got some silverhawk feathers and gp you can have
certain cosmetic overrides can be gained from questing
I woudn't recommend silverhawk boots/feathers until higher agaility. It's kind of a waste of money early game
Buy a ring of wealth instant tele to GE
oh awesome ty.
You didnt use any necromancy ability. You were using the basic attack. You need to change your main combat bar (the one with revolution on) and put your necromancy abilities on there, so then you will use your necromancy abilities
Yeah sorted out all my abilities in EP3 :).
bro this is runescape still. early days like lvl 3 you do waterfall quest :P just like osrs you would
Whoever the fuck said to fet Silver hawks... What a waste. Unless you wanna pay through the nose for 99 there is basically 0 point using them before like, 85~ minimum with the scaling xp
I just kinda use the ones I get from treasure hunter etc
@@TheMahano oh I get that, but they give level dependent xp. So, at low levels you are getting piss all. At higher levels it's way more worthwhile is all
How big is your screen woah
Hopefully this comment could help with the algorithm, nice vid btw.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
You not using your combat abilities the entire video on a combat skill pissed me off beyond belief.
@@quadesmith2988 this is the 2nd episode, I'm completely new to rs3. I've learned since then.
i was liking this until you got to the ink. please for the love of god use the wiki. you had everything you needed to make it. 20 necroplasm, water vial, ash. thats every ink. the tier of necroplasm determines the tier of ink.
Should do ironman instead, skip the mtx
Too many rs3 ironman series, a normal main is great to see.
@@LornVale +1 to this, its nice to see someone playing through it normally
you can x out, destroy, delete, drop, everything MTX in this game. i play both main & iron, and i enjoy main because i can still be self sufficient on things, but i can buy bulk for slower grinds, or early game. best of both worlds!!
@@LornVale Yeah, also with gim coming to rs3, i think the very challenge aspect of what it is to be ironman will be further diminished. Might as well play main and relax 🙂
Highly disagree rs3 is massive and learning everything is a lot if your coming back after years. Learn on a main get some game knowledge then if you want to Ironman go for it but don’t start with one.
get used to necromancy it makes even the most recent content Gwd 2 afk... quit rs3 and moved to osrs because of this skill release almost equivalent of eoc 2.0 lmao good luck
?
This is exactly the problem with this game
Way way wayyyyyyyyy to much going on
To many interfaces and to many things happening simultaneously
There is alot going on, but once you understand it, it aint half bad tbh. I have played other MMOs tho and alot of them are cluttered too. So might be abit easier for me to get used to.
@@TheMahano I agree but here is the issue if I’m going to get use to a massive cluttered interface like RS3 I would rather go learn a whole new AAA game etc
I think the issue was that before EOC rs2 players were either use to Xbox or ps2 and RS2 simplified mechanics and never played WOW or Dota or any of those massive multi interfaces games
And many of us are still in the same mindset.
To me for example elder scrolls Skyrim is a much much simpler game to understand then RS3 is ever was.
But yeah all subjective
@@chloespencer8632 oh yeh for sure, definitely subjective. But yeh im enjoying it aha.
@@chloespencer8632 as someone who's played rs3 consistently for a long time, who has somewhat of an aversion to change, and has helped a number of people; I can sympathize with that mentality. There is a lot, especially nested interfaces, and it can be a big hurdle, and isn't for everyone. It's a lot of information that is fairly frontloaded on someone new to the systems as well. I know there are people who play still that ignore a whole lot of it and just focus on the game, and reach out to people they know when they come into issues. (I don't think rs3 has done everything right, but overall it's still a decent game) and I don't know if you've seen some osrs players' Runelite clients cluttered with different plug-ins, but rs3 definitely has had more and more systems added that have bloated some aspects of the game.
