There are way more states than those five that are bad for Blacks. The Midwest is really notorious for racism more so than the southern states which was believed for years! I’ve been in many of the Southern States and the white people there were very polite and nice. I cannot say the same for the Midwestern states. I’m in Michigan now and I have never experienced racism head on like be called out of my name or challenged or any of that. But I have heard stories from friends of mine who has. Certain parts of Michigan is like that, especially going close to the northern part. They may not be as brazen as some of the post I see on Social Media, but; you can feel the tension in certain areas here in Michigan and the rudeness is real!

I am a white girl from Oregon and have kind of noticed a 'reverse Great Migration' trend from the Northeast and Midwest back to the Southeast, between big cities not holding the appeal they once had, and the taxes and weather. I have family in both Illinois and Ohio and the Ohio ones at least have acknowledged there is some racism still going on in the smaller white towns. Here in western Oregon, it is not so much racism as it is just being one of the most non-black regions in the country (we do have a huge Hispanic segment though, and there are as many Asians as blacks). Part of that lies in history, of Oregon banning black citizenship until the 1920s.
That said, before the pandemic I had eaten at a couple black-owned soul food places in Portland a few times in 2019/20 and thoroughly enjoyed myself and their company. One of those places' owner passed away this week, he was the uncle of the one and only... Snoop Doggy Dogg.
To my black fellow humans making a relocation for the reasons stated in this video, I wish you the best; may we be good and beautiful and full of love and thoughts and songs of love. Aww. ❤️
I am looking at moving to New Mexico(southern Colorado in a pinch) myself.

I could give you a whole history of Blacks in HAWAII . I’d say for every 1000 whites moving here get 1 black that’s how bad . And looking at your lists it’s amazing how many whites move from the states you mentioned Minnesota and Wisconsin and a lot have horrible attitude but with the natives we don’t play dat , often they stay far away from us natives . My question why you move here in the first place, same plane you came on and take you back ! Looking at the percentages it tells me the fact of the racial inequality because we got a lot of poor whites too . I wish more blacks would move Hawaii . We have a small community , but the history of blacks in politics is amazing. We had a senator back in the day early 1900s his last name was Smith and of course President Obama is born and raise Hawaii he was a wave rider of my 1st grandsons favorite surf spot

In Connecticut, if you have a good education and a six-figure income, you may do well in the "big cities" and suburbs. It's a competitive state where higher education and financial savvy, regardless of color, matter a lot. People of all ethnicities who aren't up to date struggle to stay afloat in such an environment. CT is probably similar to any other state in terms of attitudes. Get a good education, be clean-cut, be a go-getter, and then give the state a try.

As an educated black man that moved TO Milwaukee a year ago, I can agree. The incarceration rate is alarming as from what I can see, most of us live in or around one of the two larger cities: Madison and Milwaukee. The rest of the state is basically small towns, bigger farms and wilderness. The home ownership gap is particularly noticeable. I'm sure we're out there, I just haven't seen one yet.

Black women in Wisconsin do very well ...I don't agree with CT being on the list because how can CT be bad for blacks but prosperous for Hispanics mainly Mexican and south Americans ..I've watched whole town in CT get brought up and taken over by Hispanics ..in CT if u want to work there's work...

The 70% like to monitor black life to make sure it remains oppressed and painful and poor.
