Hi there! Thank you for sharing this ride! It is incredible that we have this right in the back yard! We did go camping at both Silver Jack Reservoir and Dinosaur National Monument, that I mentioned to you a couple of weeks ago. At Silver Jack, we were up the Middle Fork; all the way up to about .3 miles from the trail head at the end. Definitely a few people stopped me along the way, asking if I was familiar with the road (I was towing our 27ft travel trailer). The creek crossings were close, but no rock strikes on the trailer. We got tired of getting snowed on there over the Memorial Day weekend, so we moved up to Dinosaur National Monument. Getting out of the camp site at Middle Fork was tough as the ground was still wet from the melting snow. Thank god for locking rear differentials! Without that, we would have needed a tow. Dinosaur Nat’l Monument was awesome! The only thing I didn’t like about it was that it is totally not dog friendly. Dogs could only go where cars could go. We camped on BLM land up there that is annotated as a mountain biking area. We were lucky…the week we were there was the last consistent low or mid 80s days. Now, it is staying in the 90s. We're glad you enjored your trip! It's amazing the places that are off the beaten path in the western slope. We have found several gems over the years and hope to keep finding a few more. We will have some interesting ones coming up in the near future. Also, sadly, a lot of parks aren't dog friendly. It would be nice if they could offer a few trail options in the future.
