From the get go, this intake had a heartbreaking start with a horse down in the trailer. and he did not make it. Several others were in bad shape, partially blind, and yes, just thrown out into the trash. I don't know how human beings can be so cruel. This slaughter pipeline must be stopped. Our country has to pass a NO SLAUGHTER LAW and individuals have to become accountable. I don't know how to do this as our world has become out of control. Thank you, HPHS for saving who you could today. I watch every episode and cry every episode. I am the proud owner of my 7th horse since I was 10 years old and treat each of them like they were royalty. Can't fathom any of them ending up with a horrendous death. God bless you all people of HPHS.💔😠🙏🐴🦄
the problem is, there actually IS no slaughter in the US, as far as I know, I'm in Europe. So, they ship the poor things from one auction to another and from there, finally, to Mexico or Canada. Many of the creatures would end their horrors sooner if there were slaughter facilities in the US (please correct me if I am wrong there). As cruel as it might seem: The shipping and trading the sickest and sadest further and further is the worst part. Please kill me, call me names, if you feel like it, but death is by far not the worst. The pushing around, no food, no water, unattended sickness and wounds and issues, bad handling prolonged, THATS worst. Its human obligation to let a sick or injured animal, GO FAST BEFORE long suffering, in case there is no treatment possible. My own horse went this way, no slaughtering, no hauls, no giving him away after 26 years. It was my plight and responsibiliy to be together until the end. If you can't, don't take ANY animal in your hands. Personally, I would not eat horse meat, but many in Europe do, i. E. more frequently in Austria, France or Italy, and its meat like any other. The point is the "harvest method" which is often horrible - for any kind of animal, pigs, sheep, cattle, poultry, rabbits, whatever: The long hauls, the conditions. Here in Europe, its illegal to slaughter horses that had medication before, they have to be put down otherwise. So far... well, some go around that. Some years ago, a bunch of jerks illegally imported loads of poor sick critters from Romania, and sold them for very cheap lasagne. (They haul them anyway from east of Europe to south of Europe, lets say). It was a scandal, the meat wrongly declared, of course (major crime in Europe!) and a running joke about supermarket food ... humans are.... incredible, after cheap meat... already like Zombies. Resume: All that long haul business of living meat has to be stopped for good, thats the point. The slaughter inhibition is good for nothing. (please protest if I am wrong! concerning laws).

@@MollyGrue1US did allow slaughter and that was banned.Right now, there is the SAFE ACT -Saving Americas Forgotten Equines Act that would end the export of equines for slaughter..If passed, the owners would not have an easy way of dumping horses at livestock auctions.

I watched an HPHS video posted about a year ago where a person who had worked in a feedlot/killpen talking about the killpens. At the end of the video, you tell us that trying to save one horse by purchasing it from such a place, can result in harm to other horses. Perhaps HPHS make another video educating the public how it affects other horses, and how what you do is different, or has a different result. Add in what needs to change to end this entire problem for good and what the public can do to help make that change happen.

That pony's knee looked like a bullet exploding. So sad. Thank you to everyone at HPHS and all the people who are donating to save and care for them. Hugs from Esquimalt
The fourth horse from the first trailer is a true brown. My favorite color, and he is beautiful despite being underweight and ungroomed. I love horses of every color and markings, but a brown like this has a special place in my heart. Probably something to do with a long-deceased special pony of mine.
Why, how, where do these horses get so neglected and mistreated. I don’t know and can fathom how these beautiful animals end up in these conditions! If you are a horse owner that can’t cope with the basic care needs of your horse give it to someone who is able to give the animal everything it needs. Please God don’t wait till your animal is so far gone. Thank the lord for you great Horse Plus folks.
This was so heartbreaking to see that poor horse that was down in the trailer that had to be sent across the Rainbow Bridge although at least this horse is no longer suffering. How can people allow their horses to get like this I am going to definitely call my legislature and just ask them to please stop the kill buyers stop the slaughter stop the auctions. I firmly believe that people need to get more education so that they can be more responsible owners for their animals, 💔💕🐎🙏
Thank you for everything you all do! I think I wouldn't be able to do it day in and day out. I'm sending prayers for strength and peace for you all. God bless these souls. Lord have mercy on the owners who knowingly let these babies get to this point.🙏🏼
I'm wondering (this is NOT a criticism). WHY THEY DON'T GET WATER AS SOON AS THEY GET OFF THE TRAILER. I would be so thirsty myself after going through all they've gone through!❤💦 Is it because the medication won't act as well if they're hydrated?
I'm so sorry that these beautiful horses have to go through the horrible treatment they had, you guys are amazing and love these animals and take care of them with so much love!
The fact that human beings have brought these horses to this is deplorable. They’re so thin…. the poor things must be freezing cold in all that wet weather. I hope they can get warm & dry asap. Thank goodness they’re safe now.
Not good to just throw hay on top of manure. We could help u all with hay racks. I’m not far from u all need some help. Thanks for all u all do. Love from Kentucky, Lesley and medical service dog Linkin.
Yes I wonder that to. I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 and all our trailers, and obviously horse boxes have ramps. It's easier for a horse to slowly walk down a ramp than have to step off, and obviously when going in there's less chance of injury if the horse slips or misjudges the step up especially if the horse is unsteady on its feet.
Most of the trailers you see are livestock trailers. Ramps do not do well on uneven ground and out in rural areas nicely groomed even surfaces are hard to find. Often you find most of your trailers with ramps on large horse preferred trailers that only load and unload on concrete or nicly maintained areas around show areas or staging areas with high use and area for large trailers.
So sorry about the two horses that had such severe problems. The down horse and the one with the bone infection is so sad. I'm glad the one mini was able to be adopted.
Dr Lydia she's so compassionate! I'm sure Dr Gina is too I'm just not as familiar with her❤🐎❤. I'm so glad that the horse got off the trailer first pretty much maybe there was one before him? Trust Dr Lydia to triage the worst cases first, and apply the appropriate medical attention no matter what. She'll cry later...😢💔🐎 Our hearts are with you, black horse, and Dr Lydia for her unwavering commitment 2 horse plus rescue❤ and excellent care of her patients.

That pony's knee looked like a bullet exploding. So sad. Thank you to everyone at HPHS and all the people who are donating to save and care for them. Hugs from Esquimalt
The compassion of your veterinary team is so outstanding Professional So caring and compassionate! thank you for your service and healing hearts!
Thank you So much. For helping these lovely Creatures...
The fourth horse from the first trailer is a true brown. My favorite color, and he is beautiful despite being underweight and ungroomed. I love horses of every color and markings, but a brown like this has a special place in my heart. Probably something to do with a long-deceased special pony of mine.
I is so sad for this horse but you guys are doing a great job for this horse Nanette
Totally agree
This was so heartbreaking to see that poor horse that was down in the trailer that had to be sent across the Rainbow Bridge although at least this horse is no longer suffering. How can people allow their horses to get like this I am going to definitely call my legislature and just ask them to please stop the kill buyers stop the slaughter stop the auctions. I firmly believe that people need to get more education so that they can be more responsible owners for their animals, 💔💕🐎🙏
Cynthia, please ask them to support the SAFE Act, too. ❤️ Jo
Dang, Hailey, you are talented! Great catch on that poor pony ❤
And unknowingly.
Some beautiful horses, why would anyone abuse and neglect them
Not good to just throw hay on top of manure. We could help u all with hay racks.
I’m not far from u all need some help.
Thanks for all u all do.
Love from Kentucky, Lesley and medical service dog Linkin.
You are so fortunate to have Hayly on your team. Her horsemanship is off the charts.
Thank you for the wonderful care you give to those deserving horses! (Some guy kept talking and I couldn’t hear the vet.)
I wonder why more trailers don't have ramps for an easier loading
Go away AUTOCRAFT AUTOCRAFT robot 🤖 troll 🤖 👾 🧌 🤣
@@DebbieAppelhansYOU go away!!
Those are stock trailers which usually do not come with that feature. They can be well built & can haul more quantities of animals.
Rough start to this day, but the team is focused and the love of the horse prevails...you guys are the best and getting better...pizza helps...!!!
So sorry about the two horses that had such severe problems. The down horse and the one with the bone infection is so sad. I'm glad the one mini was able to be adopted.
I’m surprised dr Lydia didn’t cry because I definitely was
Dr Lydia she's so compassionate!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, Kaitlin💐!!
so grateful for all that you do❤❤ also congrats to caitlyn !!!
This is hard to watch , as my former boss lost her horse today from Colic and he passed on the operating table ! These poor horses !
Biggest blessing and prayers
I have been teary eyed watch your videos. This one made me out right cry
Me too!
To the horse that is down:

Congratulations to you all! I'm so proud to be part of your team!🎉❤🎉
Jason, -- Thankyou Sooo Much for holding on to HOPE for that downed gelding.
Much appreciated.
Serious.
I don't know how you guys don't ball you eyes out. This is so sad.
Horrible people that are so cruel, why do they even get an animal and then treat them like this. God will judge them for this cruelty. Bless you guys for saving and caring for them.
Love watching when Jason is videoing RIP to that beautiful angel shame on the person who did this to that gorgeous soul. I was certainly crying so very sad.
Dra. Lydia é espetacular, quanta atitude e coragem, verdadeira mulher de poder.
Thank you for the warning about it being hard to watch. I didn't watch the vid. I've seen my full share of heart ache today wrt to animals today. I wish you rescuers and rescuees all the best.
I like want you guys are doing for the horse 🐎 you guys are doing a great job for the horse 🐎 and I want to thank you guys for doing a great job for the horse 🐎 love ❤️ you all for doing a great job for the horse Nanette
0:50 that horse is freaking GORGEOUS. All of them are but that one really caught my eye. I want it now😢😢😢😢
Ok, I cried. HOW can anyone allow their animal to suffer so long?! I let my first horse go back to the relative I got her from because as a teenager, over time, I couldn't make enough money babysitting to give her good food, proper hoof care, etc. I loved her too much to keep her.
Smart move.
That's the way it should be done. Obviously most ppl aren't very smart about it.
Congratulations on your new property...love it...and if I'm correct...the barn is connected to your house...something I've always dreamed of.
Do you mean the new property in Washington D.C.?
