That poor baby with multiple congenital deformities... Whoever bred him couldn't be bothered to do the right thing before he spent literally his entire life suffering... Thank you for freeing him from his crippled, painful corporeal form.
Even though getting banned from the auction was rough and annoying, I think of it as a blessing since now, with the buy out program, you are saving even more horses than ever before. Thank you all for your dedication to savings animals.
Where they have come from and what they have gone through, to now be treated kindly and given care, either eased out of their pain and suffering or put into a nice clean stall or let loose into a green pasture must be like heaven on earth for them. So glad you all are doing this work.
Hope the little mare that fell thru the trailer will be ok. I'm sure she feels much better already finally getting some care for those legs. sSo sad about the 2 older mares. They were just something to be used to make money. The suffering has ended peacefully. thanks for all you do.
Dr Lydia, you made the right call for the horse with all those genetical problems. You can clearly see that he has no quality of life been bent over as he is. I know how hard it is for you to make this call, I just want to give you validation that you did the right thing as I also would have made that call.
It's a horrible thing you were thrown out of the auction but, you've been able to save many more horses. If not out right save them you end their suffering. That's a blessing in itself. Great job everyone ❤️❤️
How empty hearted... someone spent $10k on a horse, causes it major injury, and instead of even TRYING to help it, they throw it away! Don't even attempt to take it to a vet, or a rescue... how revolting. And that poor horse... and the rest.... thank you HP team for doing what you do! Keep up the amazing work Hero's!
Its been fascinating to see the growth of your vet team and facilities. The mare with the bad legs would have had no chance even a year ago. I love that now you can give the otherwise young and healthy a chance. But also that your vets can do the necropsys and grow their own skills. Your vets make the hard choice so often and are very realistic, it's nice to see them be able to do more for the bad cases.
It is great to know that 77 less horses were going through the stress of that nasty auction house. A lot of sad cases but also some happy ones . God Bless everyone who helps they sweet horses.
About those two mares with the distended abdomens. Thank you for taking care of them as you did. Thank you for using them as a way to learn more. In all cases, I know you guys treat the horses with respect. It was even more clear in this case. ❤🤗🌺
When I worked at the University of Illinois Veterinarian University we had a Standardbred mare that came in to be delivered. She had no tendons left and she literally was dragging her belly on the ground. When she went into labor we braced our backs against her belly and braced our feet against the wall. After 3 hours of labor and 2 changes of people she finally delivered a live foal.
I’m missing her too, I’m so worried about her. She’s an absolute angel. Please let her be ok. I’m sending her love and light and want her to know she’s very much on my mind. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

I can't thank you enough, that was a HUGE Buyout. You saved so many horses in poor shape. Yes, the Act of Kindness was administered to those who who had continuously suffered. Shame on those people who threw them away and let them suffered. It's disturbing. I can't wait to see the next story. Keep up the tremendously hard word that you ALL do! God bless you all!

I am happy the horses come to you now instead of you going to the auctions. Less drama for the staff in my opinion. I know it's hard work but I am so happy!
I'm also happy that I don't have to watch Auction authorities giving you grief at their barns. It makes more sense to do buyouts at your facility. I'm not sure if it's truly better overall or not, but you all seem so much more relieved to handle it this way. Thank you so much for your dedication to Animal rescue!! I wish I lived closer and could volunteer for you. 🙋🏼♀️💕 PS - I'm so impressed with your vet staff. Actually, all your staff are wonderful!
Wow! Intake days/weeks are so busy for all of you! The HPHS buy-out program is so incredibly successful! I have to wonder what the auction house is thinking now about the decisions they have made in the past! Hugs to you all! It must be very emotionally draining to see so many in such rough shape when they come off the trailers. Shame on their former owners who's job it was to care for them. They obviously have no heart or soul and will answer to their Creator one day. Thankfully, you are able to take comfort in knowing that even for those that need the LAOK, you are still saving them. You humanely put an end to their suffering. And by showering them with love, respect and care, you allow them to feel valued in their last days. God bless you everyone!
I really applaud you guys for your hard work and the care you give to each animal. It is horrid how those two sweet mares were used and abused and thrown away when they had no more to give. But to let them suffer with those tendons in their abdomens! And the total lack of normal care to their organs along the way. Karma is going to be visited onto those owner’s heads. I am praying for the little mare who endured the surgery on her back legs with such grace!! To do your best is all that can be asked of Dr Gina and Dr Lydia!!! ❤love you guys so much❤❤❤😊

How dare you to suggest that ppl who cannot support this cause are less than compassionate or even heartless toward these poor creatures who have no voice to defend themselves or the mental capacity to walk away from their dire situation. There are ppl who love animals and bc of circumstances in their life can barely support themselves let alone give to "the cause". You have no right to shame others!!!
@@RataPerry are you referring to what I wrote? I surely hope not. I can not get a horse because I don’t have the room nor the money . We can support them by watching there videos. And being kind and compassionate to these wonderful people and the beautiful animals. Dont forget that Saddlebreds also have their tail tendons cut and put in tail sets just like Big Lick Walking horses. I have seen one pubic tendon rupture in my equine life MANY years ago while working with TB broodmares. The mare was destroyed. Seen a few uterine ligament ruptures. Sorry to hear about the poor little donkey, why cant the disease be isolated and identified?? Its Always important to check your trailer floors before transportation. That poor mare, I do hope she heals and recovers. Thank you for all you do.

Have you ever used disposable diapers for large wound wrapping. A number of years ago I had a mare caught in a railroad crossing. Both hind legs were cut to the bone. And diapers worked great as they didn't stick to the wound. Just a thought.
Love that you can save so many! Genuine question: doesn't the buy out still reward kill buyers/feed lots you've mentioned before. "One guy usually brings 20" means he'd get $9000/month from HPHS.
I wish I was skilled enough to help out horses. Look at these beautiful creatures mistreated by the world. Thank you for protecting and sheltering what was the perfect companion to our ancestors. I'd come volunteer if I could afford it.
THank you for all you do. Sapphire at least has a chance now. Considering what her legs looked like when she arrived, it looks like she's really doing well trying to heal. Healing energy being sent to her. I really hope there is some research going into that donkey respiratory disease. I know it's been an issue for years now. It's really scary how fast it is. Hopefully the cause and some treatment options become known.
Worked with a horse that got his back legs caught in a wire cable fence, and basical ground his cannons down to the bone. 14-15 inches of exposed bone on both back legs. Watching the bandage changes on that mare brings back some not so fun memories. He was also 4 when it happened.
13:54 this horse, reminds me of the poem about the horses that go to heaven with no tail. ‘The best horses in Heaven they have no tail. This is a rule they all know without fail. For when a new horse arrives with a short cut bob, they all know that this horse did a very good job.’ I hope there is nothing wrong with her and that somebody just took away her tail … otherwise she has been through so much even though she must have been loved dearly before going into this nightmare
@@Terry-lh8cn I know it’s not nice for somebody to do it just because what I am stating is I’m hoping it was not because she was being put to sleep… as in she was somebody’s pet who thought they were doing the right things and was putting her to sleep, but someone evil did not do that and ended up being put into the pipeline for extra money.
Fascinaring findings with those mares. All I can think of is Coralle with Fresian Horses TH-cam, how she is a broodmare for a Fresian. She is a registered studbook Hanoverian, but did great with a Fresian bebe embryo transfer. And at least those mares weren't bred, and they are out of pain now and at rest after suffering at their end. I'm glad they landed with you, and gave knowledge in return for their gentle end.
Sad , haunted eyes. Gentle soles, filled with horrible pain. I cant bare it. Evil monsters. Exist. But also. So do angel's. Thank you God atleast for the saviors ❤ i love every single one of you loving , caring people. 💖
What an amazing team! It’s hard to fathom 77 horses rescued and coming through and for HPHS being able to assess and help all of them. Thank you again for what you do!
The beautiful horse, how sad it is to see them treated with so little regard and respect! I remember watching westerns when a young girl, and oh how I loved to see the horses, they were the reason I loved horses so much, I always admired them for their strength and resilience, and how they were the reason for man and woman being able to make it across many miles, they were our truck, our car in those days, they were the reason we traveled across the desserts, prairies and forests, and now look how we treat them, with hardly any respect whatsoever! It's such a shame, and I am so disappointed to see how badly so many of them are, all because their human did not care enough!!
That poor baby with multiple congenital deformities... Whoever bred him couldn't be bothered to do the right thing before he spent literally his entire life suffering... Thank you for freeing him from his crippled, painful corporeal form.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Why keep him to suffer...😢
So so sad that he was forced to suffer for so long. It's heartbreaking
Great comment.
He looked in so horrible shape, how anyone could've just let his suffering go on for so many years is beyond me

Yes, why are a group of mustang ending up at auctions?
Thanks for trying to save the mare with the two bad legs! We're all pulling for her!!
The men who are bringing these horses must have some compassion to bring them to you instead of the market thank god.
I think it's more the money and less effort for them than compassion.
They're making more money bringing them to horse plus than sending them through the auction

Im really glad you guys are trying for the mare with the 2 legs ingury. i really hope she continues to pull through
Have you ever used disposable diapers for large wound wrapping. A number of years ago I had a mare caught in a railroad crossing. Both hind legs were cut to the bone. And diapers worked great as they didn't stick to the wound. Just a thought.
Thank you for what you do!
Love that you can save so many!
Genuine question: doesn't the buy out still reward kill buyers/feed lots you've mentioned before. "One guy usually brings 20" means he'd get $9000/month from HPHS.
love the show love the brilliant work that you do so you well keep going
God, that gelding is so bony!
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤from Sweden
Absolutely LOVE this team!! Looking forward to the next post! 💛
Happy 4th of July to you and the crew.
Praying for you all and the animals....especially the mare that went through the trailer floor. Shes so gorgeous and sweet ❤
For when a new horse arrives with a short cut bob, they all know that this horse did a very good job.’
I hope there is nothing wrong with her and that somebody just took away her tail … otherwise she has been through so much even though she must have been loved dearly before going into this nightmare
JESUS CHRIST LOVES HORSES. ❤ REV 19:12
My guess is she had a dreadlock in her tail and someone just cut it off and didn't take the time to undo it. It does take a lot of time and patience.
It's cruel to cut a tail like that. Useless for fly protection.
@@nancyparks195 part of me also wants that to be true because the other is so sad.
I wonder if the mares with prepubic tendon ruptures came from a Premarin factory. I hope their foals were saved!
Love Coralle!
Thank you again and again. Outstanding team. 🤗
Happy 4th of July!
So grateful you’re all there for those horses, donkeys and some other animals.
God Bless You.

Your whole organization is breaking new ground every week, it seems. Well done! And I hope all of you had nice 4th of July celebrations as well.
What an amazing team! It’s hard to fathom 77 horses rescued and coming through and for HPHS being able to assess and help all of them. Thank you again for what you do!
HAPPY FOURTH TO YOU TOO! God bless you all and your mission.
God bless y'all forever for helping these beautiful souls..thanks
Really?? Because they seem to Euth way more than they SAVE !!
Thank You from Alberta
I've been around horses for 50 years, seen a lot of mistreatment etc and know about the pelvic rupture of mares... I have never seen it either!
