I absolutely love how quick you are to give them pain relief to make them as comfortable as possible as fast as possible. No one has prioritized them like that in a long time.
Thank you for saving and rescuing and helping these beautiful precious souls to health and give them a second chance to a loving caring good life for them. And helping and loving the ones who need to cross over the rainbow Bridge with your loving help . Thank you and Gods Blessings ❤💗🙏🕊⚘️❤️
I know giving the last act of kindness is the best option for some of the beautiful horses. I can’t imagine the suffering they would go through if continuing on the slaughter pipeline.
That poor old mare. Her eyes just show how bone tired she is. She got treats, love, and even pizza. Fair journeys. That new intake barn is so much nicer for both staff and the horses. No more slogging around in the mud if it was raining or had rained. Access to the horses in the chute is amazing.
You now have 2 of the bestest vets I've seen. Straight and to the point. Knows their jobs and gets down and does what needs to be done. Add to that 2 beautiful ladies too! Inside and out!
Tawnee, Could you have even amagined when You had your little operation in California that You would have come so far, and helped so many Horses and other animals. It just blows my mind. You folks are great and have done so much. I love You All and am so great full there are folks like You who are willing to dedicate Their time and lives to make things better for those poor souls who can’t speak up for them selves. God Bless You All!
I can see how efficient your new building is going to be. In the long run it will benefit everyone involved. I really appreciate how quickly you get pain meds into those who need it and fully evaluate those that get the LAOK. I love how both vets work together and utilize each others skills and talents of expertise.
Beautiful intake barn! Is it warmer? The thing I love is I can hear everybody! No constant barking dogs that everybody had to try and yell over to be heard! That Hailey is one tough, hard working gal! She's not afraid of anything. That's a trait of her Navajo upbringing.
The new intake barn is great. The last act of kindness call used to tear me up. I've come to embrace that these poor horses went peacefully with love all around rather than in a horrible trip to a heartless slaughterhouse in Mexico.
The new intake barn is freakin' AWESOME. It's so well designed, Tawnee! When you were talking about your system of gated pens, I thought it was genius. I loved seeing it in action. The only two things I'd change if it was in my power, would be to cover the floors of the holding pens with rubber mats. It makes me cringe, thinking of those poor skelatal horses lying down on that hard concrete. I know, the cost of that much matting would be high. But I'd be willing to contribute to a floor mat fund if yiou asked. I also know the intake barn is still a work in progress, so you may already be planning on adding mats. Also the height of that support bar over the entrance to the scales. Having to convince horses to duck their heads while stepping up on the scale has always been problematic. I wonder if that bar could be raised? It would have to be custom welded, obviously. I wonder if that's a possibility? Anyway, the new intake barn is wonderful, and it's so good to finally see it in use after all the work and planning. Good job!
I totally agree with you about the low bar as they go to the scales. That looks to be a design flaw. They have some very large horses that come through the barn, and that could pose a very dangerous issue if it's not fixed.
I just can't understand how on earth people neglect horses like this. They work so hard and are given nothing in return. We need to change the mind set that they are just animals. Thanks for all you do to help these horses! ❤
Great job on the new facility. The horses outside seem so much more comfortable. Water and food is easily accessible to them and they are much less stressed when going into the assessment area.
As sad as it is, any time of the year, to have to put a precious life down, crossing into a world no longer filled with pain, these poor souls are blessed with kind and loving people who actually care about them, no matter what was before. You guys give such love and care no matter what condition these horses arrive. The last moments for some are filled with so much love and compassion. The vets, don't just see these as animals, but lives worthy of respect. All of you do. I can't begin to find the words to tell you how much I love and respect each one of you. On a brighter note, Hailey needs a raincoat when working dental work with Dr. Lydia!!! :D
Thank you for your expertise and professionalism in compassionately helping each one of these poor neglected souls to move forward into their best possible life, even those who needed a pain and stress-free loving hand to free them to cross over the rainbow bridge. Congrations on the new much-needed intake facilty. A wonderful Merry Christmas to you and all of yours, including the new rescues. We look forward to watching them on their journey to much healthier happier lives.
As a want to be horse girl, who could never ride or own a horse due to cost and space. 1) I love your channel so much, I’m so glad TH-cam took me here. And 2) I’m always so incredibly sad for these creatures. To me, it would be such a privilege to even be around horses and to see how the humans who are privileged enough to at some point own them, just to abuse them… it breaks my heart so much and makes me a bit angry. I want to shout at those old owners “how dare you! I’d give my left liver and my kidneys to be allowed to build a relationship with a horse, and you chose to abuse these gentle, amazing creatures”. As a dog person, im actually so shocked these horses don’t lash out at humans after the abuse. Such amazing creatures. I only wish I lived closer so I could volunteer, but you’ve inspired me to find a horse rescue in my area I can volunteer at.
Awesome of you!!! Please do find a nearby rescue!!! I did, and ended up with a horse that they helped sponsor for me!!! Thrilling experience. So much love and compassion.
That poor Haflinger mare, she was still so full of life for her age and her medical problems. Even here in Austria you don't see many above 30 years old.Thank you for ending her suffering.
Imagine having Dr. Lydia and Dr. Gina as your mentors in veterinary training! All their combined experience and compassion could influence a new generation of vets.🙂
Dr Lydia just said it all, this new barn is a game changer, so efficient and well thought out, Jason and Tawnie put it all together knowing well what was needed...the teams worked it all and moved those babies through in timely manners, it was a pleasure to watch...well done team...!!!
Yes, Jason is great ….BUT, “sometimes” Jason is a jumper. Well, that’s what we call “people who ‘jump to act, a bit too soon’”. Like when Jason ((Nov. Buy out I think it was)) was saying “Oh, this horse is done…this poor horse isn’t going to make it ((yes, the horse needed to get LAOK. But, you(Jason) never know for certain.” AND, when someone just made an in the spot suggestion about moving the trailer? Jason jumped and said, “Ok! MOVE THE TRAILER!”. When, Dr. Lydia DID NOT want it moved quite yet- she needed a minute- and Tawnee hollered for the driver to wait - and then, Dr Lydia said she was comfortable moving the trailer away. Jason also has a little bit of ‘over speaking people who are working on horses. Like when Dr Lydia was trying to listen to a horses heart and gut sounds? Jason was(AGAIN) talking. I’m REALLY NOT trying to be a Debbie Downer AT ALL- It’s just my observations😊 Jason is a ‘jumper’ - he jumps to do and say things before he should, is all😊
I am so glad y’all had so many hands for help today. And it’s great you got to use the new intake barn!! So sorry so many had to be let go; but, at least they finally have peace now. Prayers for all of these horses. Plus, prayers for Tawnee’s nephew❤.
Please assign the jail inmates a task other than poop clean up. They can contribute and learn so much. If you assign these women horse care tasks, such as feeding, watering, and teaching them horse interaction, I will launch a donation digital media campaign. Thank you!
Please have in mind that no one knows these horses and no one is able to gurantee safety. They can kick and bite within a second. If that happens with someone who has no experience it could turn out fatal. It would be too risky for Horse Plus to let someone uneducated near horse no one knows.
You may want to adjust the slope of the concrete flooring to a 1" down in 12" towards a drain or the outside so that liquids will drain easily and keep the flooring more dry.
I don't make much money, but when I heard that you haven't been getting donations, it broke my heart. I can't offer much, but just know you guys provided these horses the best christmas of their lives
Rest in peace to the horses that didn't make it . The new intake batn looks wonderful. It's wonderful that all y'all were able to save 23 beautiful and amazing horses from horrendous lives they were subjected to amd are all now safe . Merry Christmas
Tawnee you are all over the moon with your intake barn What a terrific difference There is enough room The horses are able to be calm So sorry for the ones who had to be euthanized So grateful for that I’ve followed you for a while I’m almost crying I think with relief Once again God bless and happy Christmas
I just wanted to say how amazing the pictures are that were sent in the newsletter and how I hope the photographer will stay with you and document more of these moments. Joy and love and pain and peace all frozen in time…❤
I love the new intake barn, it's much better! So sorry to see horses in pain and neglect, thank you dr Lydia for giving them injections for pain relieve. HPHS and its vets and staff are amazing! Thank you so much Tawnee and Jason for the amazing work you do, bless you all 🙏❤
Thanku so much for ur tireless work for these precious souls. Sorry for the losses. But they can rest pain free now. U guys r a real blessing to these horses. 🐾❤️🐾
The new intake barn looks like it's working great and this buyout will let you know what needs to change before it's 100% finished 😊 Oh and yes!! Def give a horse pizza if they need the last act of kindness. Everyone deserves to try pizza ❤😀❤
I want to applaud you guys for all your dedication love and care you invested in the horses and all the records you have achieved and broken this year. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year I can’t wait to catch up in 2025!!🎄🎄🎄🇦🇺🇦🇺
The new barn is fantastic!! That is making things so much better already. Thank you for saving all of those poor babies. If it wasn't for you guys, they would, no doubt, be in so much pain that could be fixed. Giving them the LAOK is always heartbreaking, but necessary. I have watched so many of your videos and wondered about their back stories. You guys are amazing.
I heard something profound on another channel ... paraphrasing - the comment was that Mother Earth is very angry with mankind - partially for the way we treat the animals; that a balance will not happen for mankind until we, as the caretakers of earth and all it's creatures, to do the right things for all living creatures. I thought of HPH immediately. What HPH has accomplished to bring back humanity - for the horses initially, and for all creatures (being a open shelter to any and all creatures that require rescueing and help) is certainly a living example of doing the right thing. KUDO's to each and very one of you, but especially to Tawny and Jason for their visionary concepts, and actions, to make HPH and The Circle of Life, and so many more programs, as a foundation to bring so many of us into the fold. GOD BLESS them, and all of the current, original, and future horse rescuers for all they are doing! May the (universal) force be with you!
I see u guys struggling with the drafts. I worked as a tech at a farm that had 2 hundred draft horses. We had stocks that they called Amish stocks. They look mid evel, but they can be a big help with the draft hoof work. As well as safety. Some of this farms horses were x amish draft horses, and some of them did react badly and hurt someone. Please be careful. Most of them were very sweet. I think they just did not have PET relationships with their people. Sad. Keep up the good work. 😊
The new intake barn is amazing. The gates alone are mind blowing. You really know what you're doing when it comes to horses. Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful and hard work you do.
Tawny you guys have done a great job with the new intake barn and when it's finished everyone is going to be happy and warm this winter and dry when it's raining great job guys!!!!!!!
Halley is a real trouper - hard working, kind, patient and willing to do the unglamorous jobs with little need to draw attention to herself. The entire team is fantastic as well as the new intake facility. Well done to you ALL. Have a very Merry Christmas
I used to manage a doggie daycare, we worked with a rescue and would board dogs for them from time to time. One of the things the rescue did was work with a jail or prison (I can't remember which). The rescue would take certain dogs to the jail and the inmates had a training program, they would work with the dogs to get them socialized and give them basic training skills so they could get adopted. This worked so well for all involved.
This makes tear up i just cannot fathom what kind of human can allow and couse suffering in another. Especially animals that are stuck and depends on humans for life or an existence of suffering
Aww I remember baby Benjamin, let’s hope we can get an update on him. I’m loving how the new intake barn is currently working. It seems less hectic when they first arrive. I’m loving that they are all able to get fresh water and hay. Well done HP xx
yes the best hing is all what an awesome year you had and hard work that you did - at least your horses are safe and dry and there nightmare has ended - beautiful set up - love it
Tawnee, you've done an incredible job designing the arrival/staging area. Everyone is able to work safe while keeping the horses safe. And EVERYONE is out of the weather.
So cute that Tawnee feeding pizza to the horse. 😂Great Christmas save. 🥰Thanks to whom ever gathered up all of those kill buyers dreams 🤑and turned things around to be the answer to the horses dreams.😇
Your new intake barn is fabulous. It should streamline the work to be done to each horse. It'll enable you to get the horses through their exams more efficiently and comfortably for everyone.
They all look so tired and thin. 😢 That 33 year old mare that has an infection in her face...., 😭 What would you do without Hailey? What a great person💓 that poor paint horse that's struggling so to breathe
I have a question for anyone who knows, is it normal to have so many blind horses coming in? Is it from being injured, and is it just horses through the slaughter pipeline? Also, I just want to praise each and every one of you at Horse Plus. For me to know that there are so many people who care about these beautiful animals, it reassures me not to lose faith in humanity. 💜💜 I would have loved to work at your place and I would have done it for free or next to nothing. 😊 Just to be around my favorite animal in the whole world would be payment enough. Tawnee and Jason are just absolutely amazing to have done everything that they have done with their organization. 👍👍👏👏✨️✨️🤍 Merry Christmas to you All!!✨️✨️🎉🎉🎄💫
I absolutely love how quick you are to give them pain relief to make them as comfortable as possible as fast as possible. No one has prioritized them like that in a long time.
Dr. Lydia has to be one of the kindest humans on the planet.
yes
She and Dr. Gina are TREASURES! A superb team!
I love to watch Dr. Lydia's laying on of hands. She and Dr. Gina make such a good team.
Thank you so much for your dedication taking care of our gorgeous horses.. I will be donating soon (pay day )
The new barn is the deal. It’s very well conceived-so grateful to the donor who funded this fantastic advantage.
Aw...the one with her face with a mass that altered her breathing, such a sweetie and a pretty girl. Love ya for being good to her.
That poor old mare. Her eyes just show how bone tired she is. She got treats, love, and even pizza. Fair journeys. That new intake barn is so much nicer for both staff and the horses. No more slogging around in the mud if it was raining or had rained. Access to the horses in the chute is amazing.
Dr Lydia and dr Gina are such enormous assetts. They are amazing. The new intake area is absolutely amazing

You said it!

LAOK = good shortcut
It's very nice to see that the horses are dry immediately after unloading. The new facility is great.
Both of the vets are awesome and patient. Everyone shows a lot of compassion. Horse Plus is a wonderful.
Beautiful intake barn! Is it warmer? The thing I love is I can hear everybody! No constant barking dogs that everybody had to try and yell over to be heard!

The only thing I see to change is the overhead bars are too low. Great job. Wonderful facility.

WHAT THEY HAVE ENDURED, HEARD, SEEN, FELT AND SMELLED! THIS A NEW DAY!!
You should be so proud of this new building.
Great job on the new facility. The horses outside seem so much more comfortable. Water and food is easily accessible to them and they are much less stressed when going into the assessment area.
New intake barn is amazing
Hailey you deserve kudos for getting so involved during procedures.

Yeah, volunteer at your nearest rescue! Even 1 hour /week would be a big help to them, as well as to your own life.
You will be a great addition there ever you go!
That poor Haflinger mare, she was still so full of life for her age and her medical problems. Even here in Austria you don't see many above 30 years old.Thank you for ending her suffering.
rain poncho would be a great thing for Hailey :)
If you could get one that didn't make a lot of noise....
I had to scrape up 5$ to donate because I know if we were all just to give 5$ what a chunk of change we could create. 🎉
Rescues are always the sweetest horses , theyve been through hell but theyre still so trusting ❤
Imagine having Dr. Lydia and Dr. Gina as your mentors in veterinary training! All their combined experience and compassion could influence a new generation of vets.🙂
AMEN! I totally agree !!! ❤️❤️
Wow, best team. Love the new help and the amazing staff. Dr Lydia sees 100 things in 1 second.
beatiful, a perfect space for the job

@ Sigh…
I love dr lydia so much , shes not only an amazing vet but shes a true horse women to
The new set up has such an air of calm about it.
Thank you everyone for all your hard work and dedication. Grateful that these beautiful animals landed at horse plus and not Mexico.
How sad for that blind horse who came in the last trailer. Thank you Tawnee for taking care of him.
I am so glad y’all had so many hands for help today. And it’s great you got to use the new intake barn!! So sorry so many had to be let go; but, at least they finally have peace now. Prayers for all of these horses. Plus, prayers for Tawnee’s nephew❤.
I love how your new barn works! Thanks for all you do for the horses and other animals!!!
Thank you so much for the Almost Live!
Poor Hayley 😂
Maybe Haley should wear a ponch so she doesn't get so wet ???
😃😃😃
You may want to adjust the slope of the concrete flooring to a 1" down in 12" towards a drain or the outside so that liquids will drain easily and keep the flooring more dry.
The new intake looks a lot warmer. More away from that open door

Beautiful guy, I really hope he makes it. Love the Standies!
Tawnee you are all over the moon with your intake barn
What a terrific difference

Moustachio was like "Screw Hayley and her dry T-shirt!😡" 😂😂😂
Mats lots of mats, mats everywhere. Concrete very slippery for horses and humans 😊

Mother Earth should really be angry with the Amish.
That would be God. No need for catchy phrases.
@@zinnia3684 Should everyone subscribe to the same belief or at all? No. I believe in the scientific method, there's objective evidence supporting it.

The new intake barn looks great the horses look less stressed coming off the trailers. Food and water available on arrival❤

The new intake barn is amazing. The gates alone are mind blowing. You really know what you're doing when it comes to horses. Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful and hard work you do.
Thank You that 1 horse you did her a kindness.
In all my years around horses I never saw a blind one. But there are so many on this channel. It's mind boggling to me. So very sad.😢
@cyndi.K9090. That is true.
My daughter had a thoroughbred who went blind very suddenly. He had to be put to sleep as he was going wild with fear.
The horse with the tumor hurt my heart 😢😢😢 I was hoping she could live her final years in comfort. ❤😢😢
Have a very Merry Christmas
hayley is a trooper! she is my hero!
This new facility is beautiful. Everyone is relaxed and working calmly instead of working in cold rainy weather in mud and muck! I’m amazed
The new intake barn looks fantastic already!
Thumbs up to everyone but especially Haley for being such a trooper getting wet
Need a rain jacket for teeth floating
I used to manage a doggie daycare, we worked with a rescue and would board dogs for them from time to time. One of the things the rescue did was work with a jail or prison (I can't remember which). The rescue would take certain dogs to the jail and the inmates had a training program, they would work with the dogs to get them socialized and give them basic training skills so they could get adopted. This worked so well for all involved.
This makes tear up i just cannot fathom what kind of human can allow and couse suffering in another. Especially animals that are stuck and depends on humans for life or an existence of suffering
if one of the last 3 horses survive, you can name it "miracle" 😍
And the others will go peacefully ❤️
The setup of the new intake barn is great! I like the flexibility you've built into it.
Love the new intake barn the horses are so beautiful 😍
Hailey is the Best ever , always there to help . Nothing to big for Hailey LOL . love you Hailey your the cook , chief and bottle washer .
So cute that Tawnee feeding pizza to the horse. 😂Great Christmas save. 🥰Thanks to whom ever gathered up all of those kill buyers dreams 🤑and turned things around to be the answer to the horses dreams.😇
Again, thank you very much what you do for these horses. You are a true blessing.
I have always wanted a true black hose.. I can’t wait to see that one again after a couple of weeks in your care ❤️❤️❤️
So wonderful to see you all care so much. ❤ 😊
Your new intake barn is fabulous. It should streamline the work to be done to each horse. It'll enable you to get the horses through their exams more efficiently and comfortably for everyone.
Your all a gift from god thankyou so much for saving these beautiful horses 🐎 never understand how people can be cruel to animals
They all look so tired and thin. 😢 That 33 year old mare that has an infection in her face...., 😭
What would you do without Hailey? What a great person💓 that poor paint horse that's struggling so to breathe
Jason is a great host for the show. Reminds me of Marlin Perkins.
👍👍👏👏✨️✨️🤍 Merry Christmas to you All!!✨️✨️🎉🎉🎄💫
1st horse looks like my boy Tommy ❤ incredible job by you all merry Christmas to everyone and happy new year 🎉❤
